Methods: In 2011, interview survey was conducted with 700 Korean students of university and college in located 7 metropolitan cities and the biggest province (Gyeonggido). To examine the factors related to smoking behavior, it collected environmental factors, health promoting lifestyle, and mental health. Multiple logistic regression analysis for survey data identified the difference of smoking behavior. Results: The 20.4% of university students was current smoker. Smoking rate of male was higher than that of female. The university students residing in Seoul and surrounding areas were less likely to have smoking behavior than them residing in local areas. In multiple regression models, difference by gender, academic year, college level, college type, region, secondary smoking exposure time, health status, monthly drinking, alcohol use disorder, and eating breakfast remained significantly (p<0.01, p<0.05). Conclusion: Future efforts should be focused on association between health risk factors and environment factors in physical, mental, and social aspects. To achieve this, we will need to provide the integrated health promotion program to decrease smoking problems of university students.

Collected data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, scheffe's test and Pearson's correlation coefficient and hierarchial multiple regression through the SPSS WIN program. Result: The results of the analysis showed that the mean for test anxiety was $79.70{\pm}18.74$ points, the degree of self-esteem was $28.26{\pm}5.02$, and mental health was $24.31{\pm}13.07$. In the correlation analysis, mental health positively correlated with test anxiety (r=.559, p=.000) and negatively correlated with self-esteem (r=-.141, p=.013). Test anxiety and subjective health status explained 36.4% of mental health. Conclusion: This finding of this study recommends that test anxiety control and self-esteem enhancement programs should be development for mental health promotion in nursing students taking the national examination for registered nurses.

The purpose of this study is to improve the empathy, communication efficacy, and communication skills of nursing students through a psychiatric nursing practice program using storytelling by allowing the students to immerse in the narratives and identify themselves with the main characters with mental illness. This study is a single group pretest-posttest design that applied psychological nursing practice using storytelling to 46 nursing students from a local university in Korea and evaluated its effectiveness. Data analysis was performed by a paired t-test to compare the effects of the participants' empathy, communication self-efficacy, and therapeutic communication ability using SPSS 21.0 program. The results showed that psychiatric nursing practice using storytelling had an effect on the empathy (t=3.565, p=.001) and communication self-efficacy (t=2.320, p=.025) of nursing students. Based on these results, psychiatric and mental health clinical practice curriculums should be developed to improve nursing students' understanding of mental disorders and develop their communication ability with patients.
This study distinguishes between factors that affect mental health of college students, establishes an effective approach to integrating model building, mental health promotion, and development of nursing intervention based on the Bronfenbrenner's ecological system theory. The study method investigate the causal relationship between the factors. The SPSS 20.0 program was used for general characteristics and mental health related characteristics. The fitness of the model was verified and the Amos 20.0 program was used for hypothesis verification. In the study, the fit index of the model was $x^2=614.90$ (p = .000), Q value = 3.5, GFI = .88, AGFI = .84, NFI = .92, NNFI = .94, CFI = .02, and RMSEA = .08, respectively. The results showed that stress was the most influential on mental health, and that stress coping strategies, self - esteem and parenting attitude affect mental health. In order to improve the mental health of college students, intervention should be carried out to develop nursing interventions to improve stress management, self - esteem, and coping with stress.

This research considers 15 programs featuring 178 students during one semester. Pre-and-post examination of psychological well-being, depression and optimism were conducted to identify changes before and after the program. 56 students (32%) showed positive changes in all 3 factors. 15 students among them were selected for an in-depth interview for a qualitative case study. As a result of the quantitative study, a mental health promotion program based on positive psychology showed statistically significant positive changes in the pre-and-post examinations of psychological well-being, depression and optimism. This is a descriptive research study that classified Korean adults with obesity into those with Metabolically Healthy Obesity and those with Metabolically Unhealthy Obesity based on the data from the fifth and sixth South Korea's National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys, designed due to the development of information and communication technology, to examine the impacts of obese adults' health behavior factors and mental health factors on their metabolic state. With respect to data analysis, the collected data were analyzed by complex sample statistics. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: Men who were smoking at the time of the survey had a 1.29 times higher probability of inclusion in the MUO group than in the MHO group. Women who had a high stress cognition rate had a 1.02 times higher probability of inclusion in the MUO group than in the MHO group. This study is significant as it provides the basic data for establishing strategies of nursing intervention for the promotion of obese adults' health, and it suggests that it is necessary to develop a program for the promotion of obese adults' health based on these results.
While the threat from traditional communicable diseases have been decreasing non communicable chronic diseases are increasing due to the aging of population and change in life pattern of the people such as over intake of cholesterol and lack of physical exercise etc. On the other hand, since 1980s, AIDS is spreading rapidly throughout the globe and environmental pollution, accidents, addictive diseases such as drug abuse and alcoholism are becoming serious factors to hinder the health promotion of the people. In order to improve general public health and promote individual health status, existing program for communicable disease control by the government such as tuberculosis, leprosy, STD and acute communicable diseases should be effectively continued. In principle, effort should be placed on eradication of source of infection, reduction of communicability of source in infection, treatment of source of infection as well as increase of individual registance to the diseases through immunization and improvement of physical status. Since the pattern of illness is being shifted from communicable diseases to non communicable chronic diseases such as cancer, cerebral hemorrhage, heart disease and hypertention etc., special emphasis should be placed on the prevention and control of those adult diseases. Early detection of the patients, registration and treatment of patients and health education should be systematically developed for effective control of the diseases. In addition, program activities on MCH, nutrition, dentistry, mental health, environmental health, accident prevention. medical delivery system, health insurance. and all other health issues should be improved in order to achieve our goal of health promotion.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a Health Mileage Program (EHMP) to promote exercise amongst the elderly and assess the feasibility of the program. Methods: A literature review to identify the effects of exercise in the elderly was conducted. Relevant cases were investigated and in-depth interviews with exercise instructors were conducted, after which the EHMP was developed based on the assessment and tested in three regions. The outcome was evaluated using indicators such as attendance rate, number of participants, proportion of participants who received health education, and proportion of participants who measured their physical and mental status. Results: Based on assessment, we developed an EHMP composed of four steps. Following application of the EHMP in three regions, ${\geq}80%$ of the participants received incentives. Additionally, ${\geq}85%$ of participants underwent measurement of their physical and mental status. The proportion of participants who received health education differed among regions. Conclusion: The EHMP program increased participation and interest in exercise programs for the elderly. However, there is concern regarding availability due to regional differences in resources related to elderly exercise; therefore, it will be necessary to invest in infrastructure, including facilities, and knowledgeable instructors.
