본 논문에서는 21세기 신성장 동력산업으로 세계적인 관심을 받고 있는 의료관광에 대해서 살펴보고자 한다. 의료와 관광이 협조적인 구도하에서 시너지 효과를 가져오게 되는 의료관광은 2009년을 원년으로 도약하기 시작하여 2012년 현재 괄목한 성장을 보이며 성장하고 있다. 본고에서는 성장하는 의료관광시장을 조망해보고 향후 지속적인 발전과 글로벌 한국의료의 성장을 위해 발전적 제언을 하고자 한다. 이를 위해서한국의 5대 대형병원의 의료관광객 유치에 대해 살펴보고 이를 근거로 의료비의 투명한 관리와 적극적인 서비스를 위한 홈페이지 구축, 의료업계와 관광업계의 협력구도제안 및 의료커뮤니케이션의 활성화를 제안한다. 즉 질병위주의 치유목적적 의료관광객의 정확한 의사소통을 위한 전문의료 통역사의 양성과 의료관광의 원할한 진행과 서비스를 위한 국제의료코디네이터양성의 이중 채널 커뮤니케이션이 필요하다. 또한 의료계에 비해 상대적으로 열악한 관광업계의 인프라 구축을 위한 창의적인 노력이 필요함을 지적하였다.

국내 의료관광은 태국이나 싱가폴, 인도 등 정부가 주도하는 의료관광 선진국에 비해 성장이 저조한 편이며, 이에 따라 국내의료관광 활성화를 위한 많은 정책들이 시도되고 있음에도 불구하고 의료관광만족에 영향을 미치는 의료관광속성에 관한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 더욱이 의료관광속성을 의료품질과 관광품질, 그리고 비용 및 접근성 등으로 다차원적인 접근을 통하여 연구해 볼 필요가 있다고 판단되며, 따라서 본 연구는 중국의료관광객의 한국 의료관광에 있어 의료품질, 접근성, 비용적정성, 관광품질이 관광객만족과 재방문의도에 미치는 영향을 검정하였다. 실증분석을 위하여 의료관광을 목적으로 한국을 방문한 경험이 있는 중국인을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 회수된 설문지를 이용하여 구조방정식 모형으로 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 의료서비스품질, 가격적정성, 관광품질은 의료관광객만족에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 둘째, 관광객만족은 재방문의도에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 바탕으로 이론적 실무적 시사점을 제시하고자 한다.

Objectives : This study was supposed to investigate factors which influence to preference of medical tourism products of Japanese tourists in Seoul, Korea. Methods : Data were collected from 228 Japanese tourists who visited' Seoul Center for Culture & Tourism' in Myeong-dong, Seoul, Korea. We measured factors which influence to preference for medical tourism. The data were analyzed by T-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis. Results : The major findings were as follows ; Japanese tourists preferred medical products in the order of skin care, oriental medicine treatment, health screening, and scaling & teeth whitening. They considered technical level of medical staff most importantly, followed by safety of medical products, communication during diagnosis and treatment, follow-up service, modernization of medical facilities and equipment, and the reasonable medical expenses. Japanese tourists' preferred medical institutions in the order of a university hospital, a specialty clinic, a special hospital, They said they intend to pay 50,000 to 150,000 yen for medical tourism. The preference to medical tourism products are that single women group in their twenties and thirties for skin care, married people group aged over thirties preferred oriental medicine treatment, and married men aged over forties and high income earners favored health screening. Conclusions : It should be considered carefully that the preference exists on some factors especially for Japanese tourist. Further research about preference on medical tourism products for tourists from the other countries is required appropriately to fulfill the needs.

인간의 수명연장에 따라 의료비는 꾸준히 상승하고 있고 이에 따라 의료관광시장도 급 성정하고 있다. 한국은 우수한 의료진과 의료인프라를 기반으로 하여 세계의료관광시장에서 두각을 나타내고 있으며 정부에서도 전략성장산업으로 육성, 지원하고 있다. 의료관광산업의 성패는 '의료정보'와 '관광정보'의 접근용이성에 크게 영향을 받을 수밖에 없다. 건강보험공단 등이 많은 의료관련정보를 보유하고 있고 관광관련기관에서도 많은 관광관련정보를 보유하고 있지만 이들 정보가 의료관광객에게 효과적으로 제공되지는 못하고 있는 실정이다. 여기서는 의료관광에 있어 환자와 정보가 의료분야와 관광 분야에서 전달되는지 에 대한 명확한 도표와 서비스 수요자와 공급자의 필요에 대한 것들을 설명하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 의료관광의 소비자와 공급자간에 원활한 정보소통과 효과적 서비스전달을 위한 의료관광 서비스시스템 디자인을 제안하고자 한다.

Globally, medical tourism draws attention as a national growth engine industry, and is actively expanding. Current medical tourism leans towards large hospitals making it difficult to attract new users. Users collect the information for medical tourism through various paths in order to receive medical consultations and customized tour services. To expand medical tourism to small and medium sized hospitals, it is necessary to have customized medical consultations, tours and interpreter services, which are the key elements of medical tourism. This paper suggests services that users can use to match medical consultations and find tours and interpreters they want at the same time. This paper suggests ways to provide integrated services based on the information experienced by users, combining the required items from the perspectives of each user, hospital and guide. To match the content provided by hospitals and guides with experience information from users systematically, this study suggests the convergence plan for a service model that can match the experience information between users and hospitals, between users and guides and between hospitals and guides systematically by operating the data in the universal container.

Purpose: This study proposes preventive strategies for factors affecting the work impairment of international medical tourism coordinators. Methods: Data for this study were collected via an online questionnaire survey involving 296 international medical tourism coordinators in South Korea, considering the impact coronavirus disease 2019. The survey was conducted from 25th April 2022 to 22nd July 2022 and data were analyzed SPSS/WINdows software version 22, including statistical, reliability, factor and regression analyses. Results: This study focused on occupational stress, health problems and job efficacy among international medical tourism coordinators in medical tourism research. The main objective was to examine the factors that influenced their work impairment. Conclusion: This study emphasizes the importance of factors such as occupational stress, health problems and job efficacy in influencing work impairment among international medical tourism coordinators. The identified factors account for 30% of explanation power. An intervention program tailored to the characteristics of domestic and international medical tourism coordinators is recommended.

Purpose. Medical tourism is recently becoming a new industry with great growth potential. The South Korean government is shifting medical tourism from simple cultural tourism to a high value-added industry with a new paradigm. Methods. The government has been providing positive support and marketing policies since the introduction of the article concerning foreign patient attraction to the medical law in 2009, and various types of medical institutions around the country has participated actively in medical tourism by themselves or in cooperation of government bodies and made increasingly greater performance. Results. This study obtained the following results. The medical institutions in Korea have been making efforts to see more development and profitability in diverse ways, including medical tourism for foreign patients and the advance of the Korean medical institutions into foreign markets. However, many local governing bodies and medical institutions participating in medical tourism around the country have primarily focused on examination and treatment on the basis of foreign patients' visit to South Korea and rarely built a medical network with other countries directly for medical tourism. This study presents a case of building a local medical network and a network for international medical tourism successfully on the basis of the local medical association, CMP, which has been formed naturally in Busan. The success factors for CMP included 1) enthusiasm of the official in charge; 2) the medical level, the service level, and open-mindedness of participant medical institutions; 3) cost efficiency due to executive office management with no costs, no conflicts, and constant partnership; 4) security of non-competitive expertise for participants; 5) local factors of CMP; 6) participation of good agencies; 7) reinforcement of participation networks; and 8) post facto management and local doctor management. Conclusions. Its positive effects included patient introduction and greater profitability on an internal basis as well as construction of the collaboration system with the institutions related to medical tourism and confidence. However, there are some limitations: it is still difficult to predict performance due to the short period of their activities, and it is necessary to continue to observe their constant activities since a single medical association was involved.

Objectives : This study was performed to investigate the knowledge on contacting experiences to foreign patients, the equipments and requirements to make the vitalization method for the oriental medical tourism for foreign patients. Methods : We adopted the focusing group interviews on the oriental medical doctors, nurses and personnels who had the experiences to deal with the oriental medical tourism. Results : For 3 parts, translation into each country's language in program, hospital information, treatment information and homepage should be done and consideration into each country's culture is very important part to know medical tourism patients and prepare the adequate products, and lastly the translater or medical coordinator plays a very important role to connect the hospital personnels with medical tourism patients. Conclusions : Translation in to each country's language concerning medical tourism material and understanding on one's country's culture and a medical coordinator are very important constituents for a successful medical tourism.

의료관광은 의료서비스와 관광을 동시에 제공받기 위해 해외로 방문하는 것을 의미한다. 즉, 의료서비스와 다양한 문화 활동, 레저, 쇼핑 등을 접목한 관광 활동이라고 할 수 있다. 이처럼 의료관광이란 단순한 의료서비스에 국한하지 않고 관광 서비스와 융합되어 새로운 수익을 창출하는 신 고부가가치 산업으로 많은 국가들이 해외 관광객 유치를 통해 자국의 관광산업을 육성하기 위하여 지속적인 노력을 기울이고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 우리나라의 의료관광산업 중 치과의료서비스에 있어서 경쟁력을 확보하기 위해서 치과의사의 진료, 병원의 시설, 치과의 스텝, 환자의 만족도 사이에 어떠한 연관성이 있는지를 살펴보고자 하였다. 그 결과 치과의사의 진료는 병원의 시설 치과의 스텝, 환자의 만족 모두에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다.

본 연구에서는 IPA(Importance-Performance Analysis) 기법을 이용하여 의료관광객들이 만족할 수 있는 의료기관의 융복합 의료관광서비스를 위한 개선방안 및 시사점을 제시하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 자료수집에 있어서는 의료관광서비스를 경험한 고객들을 대상으로 2014년 9월 1일-2014년 10월 30일까지 검진을 받은 의료관광 고객들을 대상으로 총 244부의 설문지를 유효표본으로 확보하였다. 의료관광서비스의 중요도와 만족도의 차이를 알아보기 위하여 대응표본 t-test를 실시한 결과, 의료관광 서비스의 중요도와 만족도에 있어 모든 항목에서 유의한 차이를 보이고 있었다. 의료관광서비스에 대한 IPA 분석결과, 중요도는 높게 인식을 하지만 실제로는 만족도가 높지 않은 서비스 항목들로 향후에 집중 관리가 필요한 항목으로 '정확한 의료관광서비스', '환자의 요구에 신속한 대응', '신속한 의료관광서비스', '의료관광코디네이터와의 의사소통'의 항목들로 도출되었다. 그러므로 의료기관들은 의료관광에 대한 신속성과 전문성을 가진 의료관광코디네이터를 배치하여야 할 필요성이 있다.
