  • This is primarily an expository paper that presents several nonparametric procedures for testing exponentiality against certain monotonicity properties of the mean residual life function, tests against the trend change in such function attract a great deal of attention of late in reliability analysis. In this note, we present some of the known testing procedures regarding the behavior of mean residual life function. These tests are also compared in terms of asymptotic relative efficiency and empirical power against a few alternatives. The tests based on incomplete data are also briefly discussed.

  • In this paper we develop Bayes and empirical Bayes estimators of the finite population mean with the assumption of posterior linearity rather than normality of the superpopulation under the balanced loss function. We compare the performance of the optimal Bayes estimator with ones of the classical sample mean and the usual Bayes estimator under the squared error loss with respect to the posterior expected losses, risks and Bayes risks when the underlying distribution is normal as well as when they are binomial and Poisson.

  • Hand function evaluations are an important element of the assessment process in physical rehabilitation settings. The purpose of this study was to investigate hand function evaluation. Subjects consisted of 20 with spastic cerebral palsy(mean age = 9.8, SD = 1.6) and 20 with athetoid cerebral palsy(mean age = 9.6, SD = 2.3). Two groups of subjects were tested twice(pretest and posttest) by the JHFT to measure evaluations of hand function. These findings suggest that on four subtests - writing, card turning, large heavy objects and Stacking Checker-the spastic cerebral palsy perform significantly faster than athetoid cerebral palsy. But there were no significant differences between the pretest and posttest in spastic and athetoid cerebral palsy. To see the statistical differences in the experimental results was done using origin V. 3.0.

  • In this paper, we report a new sharp inequality of interpolation type in $\mathbb{R}^n$. This inequality is for controlling weighted average of a function via $L^n$ norm of the gradient of a function together with its' certain exponential norm.

  • A zone of sensitivity is developed to investigate the effect of nonnormality on the Bayes decision function for testing mean of a normal population when either parent or prior belongs to Edgeworthian family of moderately nonnormal probability density functions.

  • we propose a new parameter estimation algorithm that converge with probability one and in mean square, If the mean is the function of parameter of the probability density function. This recursive algorithm is applicable also ever the parameters we estimate are multiparameter case. And the results are shown by the computer simulation.

  • An asymptotic estimation problem of the unknown mean is studied under a general loss function. The proof of this result is based on the asymptotic expansion of the risk function. Also conditions for second order admissibility and minimaxity of a class of estimators depending only on the sample mean are established.

  • A different approach to the evaluation of mean residual life function under the random censorship model is presented. For small sample sizes, the performances between the proposed estimator and other estimators for men residual life function are compared in terms of bias and mean square error via a Monte Carlo study.
