In this paper, we first introduce new classes of Lipschitz algebras of infinitely differentiable functions which are extensions of the standard Lipschitz algebras of infinitely differentiable functions. Then we determine the maximal ideal space of these extended algebras. Finally, we show that if X and K are uniformly regular subsets in the complex plane, then R(X, K) is natural.

Let M and M^# be Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator and sharp maximal operator, respectively. In this article, we present necessary and sufficient conditions for the boundedness properties for commutator operators [M, b] and [M^#, b] in a general context of Banach function spaces when b belongs to BMO(?ⁿ) spaces. Some applications of the results on weighted Lebesgue spaces, variable Lebesgue spaces, Orlicz spaces and Musielak-Orlicz spaces are also given.

We introduce Lipschitz algebras of differentiable functions of a perfect compact plane set X and extend the definition to Lipschitz algebras of infinitely differentiable functions of X. Then we define the subalgebras generated by polynomials, rational functions, and analytic functions in some neighbourhood of X, and determine the maximal ideal spaces of some of these algebras. We investigate the polynomial and rational approximation problems on certain compact sets X.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of exercise program on cardiopulmonary functions and shoulder joint functioning in breast cancer patients who under- went radiation therapy after surgery. Method: Subjects in the experimental group(N=12) participated in an exercise program for eight weeks. The Exercise program consisted of shoulder stretching, arm weight training, and walking on treadmill. Maximal oxygen uptake (v2max), maximal running time, shoulder joint range of motion, and shoulder functional assessment were determined before and after the exercise program. Baseline sociodemographic and medical data were compared between experimental group and control group using the Fisher's exact test and Mann- Whitney U test. For effects of the exercise program, repeated measures ANOVA were used. Result: 1) Following the exercise program for eight weeks, both v$\alpha$ max and maximal running time tended to increase in experimental group comparing with the control group. 2) Shoulder abduction, extension and flexion of the operated upper extremity in the experimental group comparing with control significantly increased after the exercise program(p<0.05). 3) Shoulder flexion of the normal upper extremity in the experimental group comparing with control significantly increased after the exercise program(p<0.05). Conclusion: The results suggest that the exercise program for breast cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy after breast surgery can improve shoulder functions and increase cardiopulmonary functions, which are maximal oxygen uptake and maximal running time.

This note is devoted to establishing the variation continuity of the one-dimensional discrete uncentered multilinear maximal operator. The above result is based on some refine variation estimates of the above maximal functions on monotone intervals. The main result essentially improves some known ones.

In this paper, we introduce a class of maximal functions along twisted surfaces in ℝⁿ×ℝ^m of the form {(𝜙(|v|)u, 𝜑(|u|)v) : (u, v) ∈ ℝⁿ×ℝ^m}. We prove L^p bounds when the kernels lie in the space L^q (𝕊^n-1×𝕊^m-1). As a consequence, we establish the L^p boundedness for such class of operators provided that the kernels are in L log L(𝕊^n-1×𝕊^m-1) or in the Block spaces B^0,0_q (𝕊^n-1×𝕊^m-1) (q > 1).
