The purpose of this study is to suggest effective teaching methods on the concept of infinity for students to obtain the right concept in the middle school curriculum. Many people have thought that infinity is something vouge and unapproachable. But, nowadays it is rather something with a precise definition that lies at the core of modern mathematics. To understand mathematics and science very well, it is necessary to comprehend the concept of infinity. But students tend to figure out the properties of infinite objects and limit concepts only through their experience closely related to finite process, and so they are apt to have their spontaneous intuition and misconception about it. Since most of them have cognitive obstacles in studying the infinite concepts and misconception, mathematics teachers need to help them overcome the obstacles and establish the right secondary intuition for the concepts through good examples and appropriate explanation. In this study, we consider the developing process of the concept of infinity in human history and give some comments and suggestions in teaching methods relative to that concept with new suitable examples.

Number concept is basic in mathematics education. But it is very complex and is not easy to understand real number concept, because of its infinity. This study tried to show that what percents of secondary school mathematics teachers in Korea understood the properties of real number, such as cardinality, continuity, relation with real line, and infinity, which were written by verbal language.

학교 수학의 주요 영역이면서 다른 영역과 구별되는 특성을 지닌 확률 지도와 관련하여 2009 개정 교육과정에서는 큰 변화가 주목된다. 곧 확률의 정의를 중학교로 옮기고 확률을 위한 직관적 개념으로서 '가능성'을 초등 5~6학년군에서 지도하는 것이다. 본 연구의 목적은 새로운 교육과정에 따른 교과서가 개발되지 않은 시점에서 교육과정의 성취기준 및 교수 학습상의 유의점을 반영한 바람직한 가능성 지도 방안을 모색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 선행 연구 조사를 포함한 이론적 고찰 및 교육과정의 종횡 분석에 기초하여 교육과정 변화의 타당성을 검토하고 가능성 지도를 위한 활동을 고안하였다. 이 활동 과제를 이용하는 수업을 계획하여 5학년 학생들에게 적용하고 수업 과정을 관찰, 분석함으로써 과제의 적절성을 검토하였다. 가능성 학습시 학생들이 경험하는 어려움 및 관련한 교수학적 논의를 포함한다.

본 논문에서는 먼저 음수개념의 내재적 본질이 외형화되는 점진적 형식화의 과정을 역사적인 측면에서 분석하였다. 그리고 음수의 개념장을 가법구조와 승법구조에 측면에서 분석하였으며 역사적 심리학적 분석을 바탕으로 음수개념의 형식성을 이해하기 위한 방안을 모색하기 위해 음수개념의 발달 수준을 설정하였다. 그리고 음수개념의 형식적 본질에 비추어 현행 교육과정에서의 음수 지도 내용을 분석하여 그 문제점을 드러내고자 하였으며, 우리나라 중등학교 학생들의 음수의 이해 상태를 조사 분석하였다. 끝으로, 이러한 분석을 기초로 점진적 수학화 과정, 기호화 과정을 통하여 음수개념의 형식성을 지도하기 위한 구체적인 지도 방안을 제시하였다.

수학사적으로 함수개념은 비례관계, 종속변수, 식, 대응 등으로 발달되어왔으며 수학교육과정에서는 3차, 7차, 7차 개정안에서 중학교 1학년에서 함수개념 도입을 위한 함수의 정의에서 강조점 바뀌었고 이러한 수정의 핵심은 "종속"과 "대응"이다. 본 연구는 종속과 대응에 초점을 둔 수업의 장단점을 비교하고자 각각을 대표할 수 있는 모델로서 물통 모델과 자판기 모델을 선정하여 중학교 1학년을 대상으로 함수의 개념과 함수의 표현에 대한 2차시 수업을 실시하고 형성평가 문항분석을 통하여 두 모델의 차이점과 효율성을 파악하였으며, 3개월 후 파지 효과를 조사하였다. 자판기모델은 중학교 1학년 학생의 함수의 정의 이해 뿐 아니라 특히 개념이미지를 만들고 회상하는데 도움을 주었다. 물통모델은 정의역의 모든 원소가 종속변수에 대응 된다는 "임의성"을 이해하는 데는 상대적으로 어려움을 나타냈지만, 함수식의 표현과 관련해서는 좋은 역할을 한 것으로 판단되었다.

본 연구에서 초등학교 6학년 학생들이 도형의 높이 개념을 이해하는 데 어떠한 특징을 보이는지 알아보기 위하여 초등학교 6학년 학생들이 평면도형(삼각형, 평행사변형, 사다리꼴), 입체도형(원뿔, 원기둥, 각기둥, 각뿔)의 높이 개념 이해에서 어떠한 특징을 보이는지를 알아보았다. 그 결과로 학생들은 평면도형의 높이 측정에서 밑변이 수형하지 않은 도형에서 어려움을 나타냈고, 일상의 높이 경험과 연관되는 오류를 보이고, 높이 개념을 언어적으로 표현하는 데에 어려움을 느끼고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

Keeping in view the expediency of soft sets in algebraic structures and as a mathematical approach to vagueness, in this paper the concept of lattice ordered soft near rings is introduced. Different properties of lattice ordered soft near rings by using some operations of soft sets are investigated. The concept of idealistic soft near rings with respect to lattice ordered soft near ring homomorphisms is deliberated.

In this paper, we introduce the concept of statistically sequentially quotient map which is a generalization of sequence covering map and discuss the relation with covering maps by some examples. Using this concept, we give an affirmative answer for a question by Fucai Lin and Shou Lin.

The concept of a intuitionistic fuzzy topology (IFT) was introduced by Coker 1997. The concept of a fuzzy retract was introduced by Rodabaugh in 1981. The aim of this paper is to introduce a new concepts of fuzzy continuity and fuzzy retracts in an intuitionistic fuzzy topological spaces and establish some of their properties. Also, the relations between these new concepts are discussed.

In this paper, structure of involution ${\Gamma}$-semihypergroup is introduced and some theorems about this concept are stated and proved. The concept of ${\Gamma}$-hyperideal in involution ${\Gamma}$-semihypergroup is defined and some of their properties are studied. Some results on regular ${\Gamma}^*$-semihypergroups and fuzzy ${\Gamma}^*$-semihypergroups are also provided.
