  • This paper ultimately aims to develop noninvasive techniques to identify the inside of a given electrical network. Based on the theory of the partial differentiation equations and mathematical modeling, this paper devises the algorithms to find the locations of possible abnormalities. To ensure the certainty of the algorithms, this study restricted the forms of the network and the number of abnormalities, rendering it easy to prove the uniqueness of the position of the abnormalities.

  • We consider two finite difference approxiamations to a singular boundary value problem arising in the study of a nonlinear circular membrane under normal pressure. It is shown that the rates of convergence are O(h) and O($h^2$), respectively. An iterative scheme is introduced which converges to the solution of the finite difference equations. Finally the numerical experiments are given

  • Let $P_r$ denote an almost-prime with at most r prime factors, counted according to multiplicity. In this paper, it is proved that for every sufficiently large even integer N, the equation $$N=x^2+p_1^2+p_2^3+p_3^3+p_4^4+p_5^4$$ is solvable with x being an almost-prime $P_4$ and the other variables primes. This result constitutes an improvement upon that of $L{\ddot{u}}$ [7].

  • In this paper we deal with the optimal control problem for the semilinear functional differential equations with unbounded delays. We will also establish the regularity for solutions of the given system. By using the penalty function method we derive the optimal conditions for optimality of an admissible state-control pairs.

  • Complementaity problem theory developed by Lemke [10], Cottle and Dantzig [8] and others in the early 1960s and thereafter, has numerous applications in diverse fields of mathematical and engineering sciences. And it is closely related to variational inquality theory and fixed point theory. Recently, fixed point methods for the solving of nonlinear complementarity problems were considered by Noor et al. [11, 12]. Also complementarity problems related to variational inequality problems were investigated by Chang [1], Cottle [7] and others.

  • The notion of problem-solving in mathematics education effects mathematics teachers notice and its importance in mathematics is getting better. The purpose of this thesis is to consider the mathematical reasoning for improving the ability of problem solving. It is necessary that notion, enforcement method, procedure and evaluation standard of performance assessment should be explained to students. The teachers, improvements of specialty for class and evaluation as well as systematic reeducation for performance assessment are essential.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate how to teach algorithms in mathematics class. Until recently, traditional school mathematics was primarily treated as drill and practice or memorizing of algorithmic skills. In an attempt to shift the focus and energies of mathematics teachers toward problem solving, conceptual understanding and the development of number sense, the recent reform recommendations do-emphasize algorithmic skills, in particular, paper-pencil algorithms. But the development of algorithmic thinking provides the foundation for student's mathematical power and confidence in their ability to do mathematics. Hence, for learning algorithms meaningfully, they should be taught with problem solving and conceptual understanding.

  • We establish a monotonicity formula of V-harmonic maps by using the stress-energy tensor. Use the monotonicity formula, we can derive a Liouville type theorem for V-harmonic maps. As applications, we also obtain monotonicity and constancy of Weyl harmonic maps from conformal manifolds to Riemannian manifolds and ${\pm}holomorphic$ maps between almost Hermitian manifolds. Finally, a constant boundary-value problem of V-harmonic maps is considered.
