공학계열 교직전공 예비교사의 STEAM교육 이해도 및 인식현황 (The Present Status for Understanding and Recognition of STEAM Education in Pre-service Teachers Majoring in Teaching Profession of Engineering System)

  • This study examined a difference in a change of understanding and recognition on STEAM Education before and after participating in STEAM Education of university students majoring in teaching profession of engineering system who took part in 'STEAM Education of being made together with undergraduates for 2016' as part of the project for a center of supporting STEAM pre-service teachers. As a result, the pre-service teachers majoring in teaching profession of engineering system could be confirmed to have been improved the understanding and sympathy level with STEAM education as a whole following the execution of the program. Comparing it with other majoring system, the pre-service teachers majoring in teaching profession of engineering system were shown to be a little low in pre-perception or satisfaction, but were indicated later to have high intention of participation in STEAM education. This suggests that the pre-service teachers majoring in teaching profession of engineering system recognize the importance of STEAM education in the engineering education, but are feeling pressure about interpersonal communication. Accordingly, it is time that there is a need to have a system of officially providing the implementation of STEAM education and an opportunity of experience in the education for pre-service teachers aiming at the engineering education for future generation.

상위권 대학 이공계열 학생들의 학업부진 원인과 대처 방안 탐색: A대학 사례를 중심으로 (Exploring the Causes of and Potential Solutions for Low Academic Achievement of Students Majoring in Sciences and Engineering at Prestigious Korean Universities: Case Study of A University)

  • This study was conducted to identify the causes of academic weakness and to find the ways to cope with it for the students majoring in science and engineering at the top university in Korea. For this purpose, a questionnaire was conducted for students who experienced academic warning and poor academic performance at A university, and a total of 207 students responded. The results were divided into two groups majoring in science and engineering or not and the characteristics and differences of each group were analyzed. In addition, in-depth interviews were conducted with five students who had experienced academic warning and poor academic performance. As a result, the group majoring in science and engineering had a relatively low level of difficulty in forming interpersonal relationships and relatively high degree of participation of activities in their departments. The group majoring in science and engineering have a tendency to choose careers that are connected with their majors, and therefore, their response was relatively low due to lack of career goals. However, the group majoring in science and engineering had difficulty in academic performance due to the difference in basic courses and the level of recognition about self-learning strategy needed for university study was relatively low compared with the group majoring in non-science and engineering. When they experienced academic problems, they said that their interest, support, and positive feedback from professors helped them recover their motivation and continue their studies. Through these results, it was confirmed that intervention and support are needed considering the academic situation and characteristics of the students majoring in science and engineering.

공과대학생의 진로결정 어려움과 정서·성격적 진로문제 분석 (Analysis of Career Decision Difficulties and Emotional and Personality Career Difficulties of College Students Majoring in the Engineering)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of college students majoring in the engineering on career decision difficulties and emotional and personality career difficulties. Data is consisted of 430 college students. We tested the research question by employing the PSM and the multi-regression model. The result showed that college students majoring in the engineering have difficulties in the information about self, the lack of information, and the outside control on career decision more than others. We suggested that career education and counseling of understanding themselves such as interesting, aptitude, and occupational value should be provided for students majoring in the engineering.

멀티미디어콘텐츠 전공 대학생의 진로장벽이 진로관여행동에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Career Barrier on Occupational Engagement of College Student Majoring in Multimedia Content)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of career barriers on college students majoring in multimedia content on occupational engagement. Data was collected through a questionnaire survey from 446 students majoring in Multimedia content at D University in Pusan. The data were analyzed by using reliability analysis, t-test, correlations, multiple regression analysis, and hierarchical analysis with SPSS 24.0. The results are as follows. Among the career barriers, external barriers had a significant positive influence on occupational engagement, although indecisive personality, lack of job information, lack of self clarification had a significant negative influence on occupational engagement. In addition, the implications of the study on the basis of these results and the limitations and future research directions are discussed.

이공계 대학생의 글쓰기 경험과 인식 분석 (Analysis of Experience and Perception in Writing of Students Majoring in Science and Engineering)

  • This research intended to find the desirable orientation of writing education for students majoring in science and engineering. The survey was conducted to investigate the experience and perception of writing of 268 students majoring in science and engineering. Also students who relatively had more writing experience were selected for focus group interview in order to have an in-depth understanding on survey. Finally, the two investigations were combined to find the implication of education of writing for students. The results of the research are as follows. First, the students of science and engineering who participated in the research not only had a relatively insufficient writing experience, but lacked enough education opportunity on systematic writing. The satisfaction of the writing subject was directly affected by the quality of writing instructor and, feedback of the writing and writing process. Second, the students who participated in the research went through various difficulties in their writing process, but the efforts in trying to figure out the cause of the difficulties were relatively insufficient. Third, the students of the research perceived and agreed on the importance of writing and writing skills. They insisted needs of writing exercise, thought exercise for writing, accurate feedback in writing course.

치기공학 전공 대학생들의 전문치과기공사 제도의 인식에 관한 조사 (A survey on perception about Certified Dental Technician(CDT) system of students majoring in dental laboratory technology)

  • Purpose: This study was aimed to know the perception about Certified Dental Technician system of students majoring in dental laboratory technology in Korea. Methods: A survey was conducted for four months from August through November 2011 with questionnaires. The responses from 1148 students majoring in dental laboratory technology in Korea were analyzed with SPSS 12.0 program, and frequency analysis and chi square test were implemented. Results: Total students who responded to the questionnaire were 1148 (100%). The population characteristic of this survey is that 691 (60.2%) are male. The respondents believed that the job skill could be expanded by implementing the system (85.6%). Also, they responded that they would be willing to acquire the Certified Dental Technician qualifications in the future (95.5%). Conclusion: Students majoring in dental laboratory technology in Korea believed that the execution of the system of Certified Dental Technician would expand the dental technology industry.

토목환경공학과 특성을 고려한 공학입문설계 학습지도 사례연구 (Case Study on Course Plan of Introductory Engineering Design for Students Majoring Civil and Environmental Engineering)

  • This study summarized the case study of a course development of introductory engineering design considering the characteristics of civil and environmental engineering. The course mainly depends on conducting the design projects. The self-developed text book for the course consists of learning and activities of the core elements for the creation and decision of ideas and two independent design projects. Especially, the design project drew from a survey of students majoring in civil and environmental engineering and is well knitted to help students obtain the potential for soft-landing at higher major courses.

이공계 대학생의 진로결정수준 및 진로준비행동 분석 (Analytical Results of Panel Survey on the Career Decision Level and Career Preparation Behavior of College Students Majoring in Science and Engineering)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 이공계 대학생들의 진로결정수준과 진로준비행동을 분석하는 것이다. 본 연구는 한국직업능력개발원의 2007년 한국교육고용패널(KEEP) 원자료 중 연구 질문에 따라 해당 연구대상을 2, 3년제 전문대학 및 4년제 대학 이공계 학생 298명으로 제한 추출하였다. 분석 결과 이공계 대학생의 진로결정수준은 성별, 출신 고등학교, 대학 유형, 전공계열 등과 무관하게 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 진로준비행동의 경우, 직업세계의 이해 측면은 남성 이공계 대학생이 여성 이공계 대학생보다 미래직업 업무내용에 대해 구체적으로 인지하는 것으로 나타났다. 진로탐색 계획과 활동 측면에서는 대학유형별로 2년제, 3년제 대학보다 4년제 대학의 이공계 대학생들이 미래직업 계획을 보다 적극적으로 수립하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 이공계 대학생의 진로지도 프로그램 개발이 필요하고 저학년 초기 진로지도가 필요하다는 점을 제언하였다.

전공에 따른 케어 로봇에 대한 인식, 디지털 리터러시 및 공감능력에 대한 비교 연구 -보건계열 및 공학계열 대학생을 대상으로- (A comparison study on perception of care robots, digital literacy and empathic ability according to major -in the university students majoring in health and engineering-)

  • 본 연구에서는 4차 산업형명의 의료 삶의 질을 향상시켜줄 케어로봇에 대하여 미래 의료 산업 발전을 주도할 보건전공 대학생과 공학전공 대학생의 케어로봇에 대한 인식을 확인하고, 이들의 디지털 리터러시 및 공감능력의 차이를 확인하고자 하였다. 본 연구는 대학생의 케어로봇에 대한 인식과 디지털 리터러시 및 공감능력에 대해 분석하기 위한 서술적 상관관계 연구이다. 보건계열 대학생과 공학계열 대학생은 케어로봇에 대한 필요성을 인식하고 있었으나, 교육 경험이 두 군 모두 미흡하였다. 더욱이 보건계열 대학생의 경우 케어로봇에 대해 들어본 경험이 공학계열 학생보다 통계적으로 낮았으며, 수강 요구도 또한 낮았다. 보건계열 대학생과 공학계열 대학생의 디지털 리터러시는 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없었고, 공감능력 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없었지만 하위영역인 행동적 공감에서 관계형성능력은 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. 본 연구를 통하여 추후 4차 산업에 따른 의료 분야의 교육의 다학제간의 방향성을 제시하고 전공에 따른 학습자들을 위한 이해와 준비의 기초자료가 될 수 있기를 기대한다.

공학전공 대학생의 AI 로봇에 대한 윤리적 민감성 (Engineering Students' Ethical Sensitivity on Artificial Intelligence Robots)

  • This study evaluated the engineering students' ethical sensitivity to an AI emotion recognition robot scenario and explored its characteristics. For data collection, 54 students (27 majoring in Convergence Electronic Engineering and 27 majoring in Computer Software) were asked to list five factors regarding the AI robot scenario. For the analysis of ethical sensitivity, it was checked whether the students acknowledged the AI ethical principles in the AI robot scenario, such as safety, controllability, fairness, accountability, and transparency. We also categorized students' levels as either informed or naive based on whether or not they infer specific situations and diverse outcomes and feel a responsibility to take action as engineers. As a result, 40.0% of students' responses contained the AI ethical principles. These include safety 57.1%, controllability 10.7%, fairness 20.5%, accountability 11.6%, and transparency 0.0%. More students demonstrated ethical sensitivity at a naive level (76.8%) rather than at the informed level (23.2%). This study has implications for presenting an ethical sensitivity evaluation tool that can be utilized professionally in educational fields and applying it to engineering students to illustrate specific cases with varying levels of ethical sensitivity.
