The relocation policy of public Institutions throughout provincial areas that implemented for the purpose of "balanced national development" finished in 2019 with the last relocation of the Korea Institute of Science & Technology Evaluation and Planning, which moved to Chungbuk Innovation City. Electric power public corporations also completed relocation program over eight regions across the nation. This study was conducted empirically to identify the structural relationship between the public service motivation and job attitude. In this, the relationship of organizational change, particularly occurred by the regional relocation, with the psychological state of these organization members (experienced direct changes and got substantial impacts in various aspects such as psychological, economic and living environment, etc.,) was studied. This study aims to seek early organizational stabilization ideas for electric power public corporations after relocation, and to present some implications that can contribute to the secondary relocation of public institutions to local areas. This study shows the statistically significant relationship between the psychological state occurred by relocation and organizational commitment. The result shows that the higher the expectation levels, the higher the degree of organizational commitment, while anxious psychological state has no relation with that. Additionally, expectation level has no significant functional relation with turnover intention. Followings are the major conclusions revealed in this study; The stronger the anxious psychological state, the higher the turnover inducement goes up. The higher the expectation levels, the higher the public service motivation grows, and the higher the anxiety psychological state, the public service motivation lowers. The organizational commitment grows according to the public service motivation proportionally, but the turnover inducement intention is weak. The moderating effect of public service motivation between the expectation of organizational change and turnover intention was not significant, but it was analyzed that the moderating effect of public service motivation formed a significant relationship with other anxiety psychology. The expectation levels of employees of electric power public corporations has grown up after moving to provincial areas. Relationship between the expectation mind and the turnover inducement has decreased after local relocation.

The purpose of this study was to suggest a better education programs for general hospitals. To do so, we conduct an empirical analysis of factors associated with employee satisfaction on training and education programs in general hospitals. The subjects were 490 respondents from 4 general hospitals, and the major findings of the study were as follows: First, employee satisfaction on training and education programs were shown statistically significant difference according to their demographic characteristics. Second, hospital employees whose organizational commitment and job performance was better expressed had more satisfaction with the education and training they received. Finally, it was found that self-efficacy had a moderation effect on between expectations for education and satisfaction with education and training. The study finally discusses practical implications for developing effective education program.
This study was conducted to investigate the prospects and issues for the implementation of the annual salary system in Korean hospitals. Data were collected from the top management of 669 hospitals in Korea through the self-administerd questionnaires. Of the 175 respondents, 171 questionnaires were used as final data and analyzed using $X^2$ test. The results of the study are as follows. 1) It is found that 49.7% of the study hospitals are operating the annual salary system. 2) Among the hospitals which are not operating the annual salary system, 49.2% have the plan to implement the system and 44.5% have not decided yet whether they introduce the system or not. 3) The proportion of the hospitals which have the plan to implement the annual salary system within 5 years is 96.8%. 4) The proportion of the hospitals which will begin the system only with full-time physicians and middle level managers is 36.2%, while that of the hopsitals which will apply the system to all employees is 30.5%. 5) Hospital Administrators seems to prefer to 10-20% salary gap for the introduction period among the employees with same salary. 6) Most of the respondents are willing to accept the payment system based on the performance. 7) The major issues which should be dealt with before the implementation of the annual salary system are the establishment of the objectivity of performance evaluation criteria, the improvement of teamwork, and the maintenance of organizational commitment. 8) The desirable criteria for employee evaluation are found to be the mixture of the ability, job position, tenure, and the job difficulty.

Major accidents such as typhoon, tsunami, and chemical accidents have been continuously occurred. In this environment, Technical Commitment (TC) related to disaster management part in the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) concentrates their efforts to enact the business continuous management in emergency situation for international standard. As a result of TC223, four international standards are enacted in 2011, 2012. In the Korean industrial standard, two international standard (ISO22300, ISO22301) out of four standards were enacted in 2012. This study analyzes a recent trend and proposes a method activating of international societal security standard for chemical accidents. Disaster certificate system for developing disaster safety industry is suggested. We hope each related organization could develop our disaster safety management policy and research based on this study.
Purpose - With growing competition in the service distribution industry, the importance of managing customer complaints has increased. If firms handle customer complaints effectively, they can strengthen customer loyalty and repurchase intention. Many studies have focused on customers expressing complaints, yet research on silent customers is scant. This study focuses on two types of complainers and non-complainers. In other words, this study is to examine the value of voice complaint intention and no-action intention. This study also investigates how perceptual and relational factors affect complaint intention. Research design, data, and methodology - This study was carried out using the survey with undergraduate students who have faced a service failure in a retail store(fast foods, electronics, apparel). And if such complaint were to occur again, respondents were asked about any possible action they would take. 300 questionnaires were distributed and a total of 279 respondents provided complete and usable data. The sample consisted of 158 males(56.6%) and 121 females(43.4%). The structural equation modeling analysis was used for the hypothesis test. Results - The results are as follows. First, attitude toward complaining, likelihood of successful complaint, and ease of complaint were positively related to voice complaint intention. Second, attitude toward complaining, likelihood of successful complaint, and ease of complaint were negatively related to no-action intention. Third, commitment was positively related to voice complaint intention but didn't have a significant negative impact on no action. Forth, voice complaint behavior reduced switching intention and no-action intention enhanced switching intention. Conclusions - The findings of this study confirm the value of complaint behavior and show voice complaint intention and no-action intention should be managed differently. Voice complaint intention is evaluated positively because it reflects customers' concerns about the company, while no-action intention is evaluated negatively. Attitude toward complaing is the most effective in increasing voice complaint intention and likelihood of successful complaint is a major factor in reducing no-action intention. Also, in explaining switching intention, voice complaint intention plays a more important role than no-action intention.
The level and motivational basis of consumer involvement have been recognized as having important effects on purchase behavior. To explore the importance of hedonic aspects of involvement upon consumer purchase behavior, survey data on involvement degree and type concerning 8 product classes from 388 respondents was analyzed. Major findings of this study are summarized as follow. First of all, hedonic factor is evidenced as an important component of consumer involvement. In addition, hedonic dimension of involvement is proved to have significant effects on consumer purchase behavior in general. Secondly, analysis of the difference in behavioral tendencies between purchasing product with hedonic value(coffee) and utilitarian motive(washing machine) shows that consumers have relatively high in degree of brand differentiation, brand commitment, product knowledge in purchasing product with hedonic value. This means that hedonic aspect of product and thus hedonic involvement has not less important in predicting consumer behavior. Finally, several interactive effects, which suppot to and conflict against the previous research findings, between level and type of involvement upon purchase behaviors are detacted. This implies that hedonically induced involvement has moderating roles in the effects of consumer involvement on purchase behavior.
This study is to analyze the effect of product involvement on consumer purchase process. From review on previous involvement literatures, enduring product involvement can be defined as "a person's arousal and motivational state activated by product on the basis of his basic value, objective and ego-relevance." To evaluate the effect of involvement on product purchase process, 11 hyphotheses concerning behavioral aspects which is expected to comprise consumer purchase process and to be influenced by degree of involvement were constructed: prepurchase information search, alternative brand comparision, utilization of product attribute, brand differentiation, brand commitment, product knowledge, influence of reference group, dependence on price, price awareness, cognitive dissonance and purchase optimization. Hyphotheses are tested with data from 388 housewives through 20 item involvement scale developed with multi-dimensional perspective on involvement. The scale successfully provides rank order of 8 selected products expected to cover the spectrum of product involvement: formal clothes, coffee, washing machine, shampoo, perfume, detergent, soft drink, pain-reliever as the order of product involvement. Major findings of this study are as follow. First of all, incresed differences were found in hihg involvement product like formal clothes with respect to the degree of prepurchase information search, alternative brand comparision, utilization of product attribute, influence of reference group in any method of analysis. Secondly, invlovement should be interpreted as a consumer characteristic rather than a product one. This means that consumers involve themselves with products, instead products themselves do not have any involvement.
Over the last century, medical education in North America has evolved by identifying educational challenges within its own socio-cultural context and by appropriately responding to these challenges. A discipline-based curriculum, organ-system or integrated curriculum, problem-based curriculum, and competency-based curriculum are historical examples of the educational solutions that have been developed and refined to address specific educational challenges, such as students' lack of basic scientific knowledge, lack of integration between scientific knowledge and clinical practice, and lack of clinical practice. In contrast, Korean medical education has evolved with the influence of two forces: (1) the adoption of educational solutions developed in North America by pioneers who have identified urgent needs for medical education reform in Korea over the last three decades, and (2) the revitalization of Korean medical schools' curricula through medical education accreditation and national medical licensing examination. Despite this progressive evolution in Korean medical education, we contend that it faces two major challenges in order to advance to the next level. First, Korean medical education should identify its own problems in medical education and iteratively develop educational solutions within its own socio-cultural context. Secondly, to raise reflective doctors who have scientific knowledge and professional commitment to deal with different types of medical problems within a continuum from well-defined to ill-defined, medical education should develop innovative ways to provide students with a balanced spectrum of clinical problems, including uncertain, ill-defined problems.
Objectives: A systematic review and a meta-analysis were performed investigate the factors related to turnover intention of dental hygienists in Korea. Methods: Literature between 2000 and January 2021 were used to support the meta-analysis, which focused on 21 factors extracted from 50 articles using a random effects model. The correlation coefficient, r, in the effect size was calculated. Results: Substantial literature was published after 2011 (76%); in academic journals (74%); and targeted nonmetropolitan areas (40%). Lawler's turnover intention tool was used in several studies. The effect size for each ecosystem was in the order of microsystem (r=0.325), mesosystem (r=0.307), macrosystem (r=0.259), exosystem (r=0.176), and individuals (r=0.171). The random-effects model indicated an overall average of r=0.311. The factor that showed a large effect size in relation to turnover intention was organizational commitment of the microsystem (r=-0.594). Furthermore, mesosystem reward (r=- 0.416), microsystem burnout (r=0.464), job stress (r=0.408), and job satisfaction (r=-0.405) were identified as other major factors. Conclusions: To lower the turnover rate of dental hygienists, it is important to focus on factors belonging to the microsystem, and mesosystem reward.
Purpose: Since the 1990s, Korea has been making various efforts to prevent serious industrial accidents, such as implementing a hazardous risk prevention plan and implementing a process safety management system, but a series of recent major industrial accidents have shown its limitations. Therefore, this study aims to present measures to improve safety management of PSM target workplaces. Method: Investigate previous studies and cases on improving safety management at workplaces subject to PSM, seek ways to improve safety management at workplaces subject to PSM based on existing safety management, and evaluate safety management system one of the causes of accidents. Therefore, a safety education program is established to increase employees' safety awareness and understanding, and to improve the safety level. Result: Measures such as establishing an organizational culture to improve safety management of PSM target workplaces, responding to disasters, systematic safety management, replacing and strengthening old facilities, and strengthening management's firm commitment to safety were presented. Conclusion: Through this study, it is meaningful to present a systematic plan to secure safety to reduce precious lives and damage, and it is expected to be useful in considering the direction of PSM improvement for each workplace.
