THE RANDER CHANGES OF FINSLER SPACES WITH ($\alpha,\beta$)-METRICS OF DOUGLAS TYPE

  • A change of Finsler metric L(x,y)longrightarrowL(x,y) is called a Randers change of L, if L(x,y) = L(x,y) +$\rho$(x,y), where $\rho$(x,y) = $\rho$(sub)i(x)y(sup)i is a 1-form on a smooth manifold M(sup)n. Let us consider the special Randers change of Finsler metric LlongrightarrowL = L + $\beta$ by $\beta$. On the basis of this special Randers change, the purpose of the present paper is devoted to studying the conditions for Finsler space F(sup)n which are transformed by a special Randers change of Finsler spaces F(sup)n with ($\alpha$,$\beta$)-metrics of Douglas type to be also of Douglas type, and vice versa.

ξ-PARALLEL STRUCTURE JACOBI OPERATORS OF REAL HYPERSURFACES IN A NONFLAT COMPLEX SPACE FORM

  • Let M be a real hypersurface with almost contact metric structure $({\phi},{\xi},{\eta},g)$ in a non flat complex space form $M_n(c)$. In this paper, we prove that if the structure Jacobi operator $R_{\xi}$ is ${\xi}$-parallel and the Ricci tensor S commutes with the structure operator $\phi$, then a real hypersurface in $M_n(c)$ is a Hopf hypersurface. Further, we characterize such Hopf hypersurface in $M_n(c)$.

HYPERSURFACES WITH PRESCRIBED MEAN CURVATURE IN MEASURE METRIC SPACE

  • For any given function f, we focus on the so-called prescribed mean curvature problem for the measure e-f(|x|2)dx provided thate-f(|x|2) ∈ L1(ℝn+1). More precisely, we prove that there exists a smooth hypersurface M whose metric is ds2 = dρ2 + ρ2d𝜉2 and whose mean curvature function is ${\frac{1}{n}}(\frac{u^p}{{\rho}^{\beta}})e^{f({\rho}^2)}{\psi}(\xi)$ for any given real constants p, β and functions f and ψ where u and ρ are the support function and radial function of M, respectively. Equivalently, we get the existence of a smooth solution to the following quasilinear equation on the unit sphere 𝕊n, $${\sum_{i,j}}({{\delta}_{ij}-{\frac{{\rho}_i{\rho}_j}{{\rho}^2+|{\nabla}{\rho}|^2}})(-{\rho}ji+{\frac{2}{{\rho}}}{\rho}j{\rho}i+{\rho}{\delta}_{ji})={\psi}{\frac{{\rho}^{2p+2-n-{\beta}}e^{f({\rho}^2)}}{({\rho}^2+|{\nabla}{\rho}|^2)^{\frac{p}{2}}}}$$ under some conditions. Our proof is based on the powerful method of continuity. In particular, if we take $f(t)={\frac{t}{2}}$, this may be prescribed mean curvature problem in Gauss measure space and it can be seen as an embedded result in Gauss measure space which will be needed in our forthcoming papers on the differential geometric analysis in Gauss measure space, such as Gauss-Bonnet-Chern theorem and its application on positive mass theorem and the Steiner-Weyl type formula, the Plateau problem and so on.

COMMON FIXED POINT THEOREMS FOR TWO SELF MAPS SATISFYING ξ-WEAKLY EXPANSIVE MAPPINGS IN DISLOCATED METRIC SPACE

  • In this article, we shall prove a common fixed point theorem for two weakly compatible self-maps 𝒫 and 𝔔 on a dislocated metric space (M, d*) satisfying the following ξ-weakly expansive condition: d*(𝒫c, 𝒫d) ≥ d* (𝔔c, 𝔔d) + ξ(∧(𝔔c, 𝔔d)), ∀ c, d ∈ M, where $${\wedge}(Qc,\;Qd)=max\{d^*(Qc,\;Qd),\;d^*(Qc,\;\mathcal{P}c),\;d^*(Qd,\;\mathcal{P}d),\;\frac{d^*(Qc,\;\mathcal{P}c){\cdot}d^*(Qd,\;\mathcal{P}d)}{1+d^*(Qc,\;Qd)},\;\frac{d^*(Qc,\;\mathcal{P}c){\cdot}d^*(Qd,\;\mathcal{P}d)}{1+d^*(\mathcal{P}c,\;\mathcal{P}d)}\}$$. Also, we have proved common fixed point theorems for the above mentioned weakly compatible self-maps along with E.A. property and (CLR) property. An illustrative example is also provided to support our results.

KENMOTSU MANIFOLDS SATISFYING THE FISCHER-MARSDEN EQUATION

  • The present paper deals with the study of Fischer-Marsden conjecture on a Kenmotsu manifold. It is proved that if a Kenmotsu metric satisfies 𝔏*g(λ) = 0 on a (2n + 1)-dimensional Kenmotsu manifold M2n+1, then either ξλ = -λ or M2n+1 is Einstein. If n = 1, M3 is locally isometric to the hyperbolic space H3 (-1).

  • Let M be a real hypersurface with almost contact metric structure (��, ξ, ��, g) in a nonflat complex space form Mn(c). We denote S and Rξ by the Ricci tensor of M and by the structure Jacobi operator with respect to the vector field ξ respectively. In this paper, we prove that M is a Hopf hypersurface of type (A) in Mn(c) if it satisfies Rξ�� = ��Rξ and at the same time satisfies $({\nabla}_{{\phi}{\nabla}_{\xi}{\xi}}R_{\xi}){\xi}=0$ or Rξ��S = S��Rξ.

  • Let M be a real hypersurface with almost contact metric structure (ϕ, ��, η, g) in a nonflat complex space form Mn(c). We denote S and R�� by the Ricci tensor of M and by the structure Jacobi operator with respect to the vector field �� respectively. In this paper, we prove that M is a Hopf hypersurface of type A in Mn(c) if it satisfies R��ϕ = ϕR�� and at the same time R��(Sϕ - ϕS) = 0.

  • In this paper we characterize asymptotic stability via Lyapunov function in general dynamical systems on c-first countable space. We give a family of examples which have first countable but not c-first countable, also c-first countable and locally compact space but not metric space. We obtain several necessary and sufficient conditions for a compact subset M of the phase space X to be asymptotic stability.

BEST PROXIMITY POINT THEOREMS FOR CYCLIC 𝜃-𝜙-CONTRACTION ON METRIC SPACES

  • In this paper, we give an extended version of fixed point results for 𝜃-contraction and 𝜃-𝜙-contraction and define a new type of contraction, namely, cyclic 𝜃-contraction and cyclic 𝜃-𝜙-contraction in a complete metric space. Moreover, we prove the existence of best proximity point for cyclic 𝜃-contraction and cyclic 𝜃-𝜙-contraction. Also, we establish best proximity result in the setting of uniformly convex Banach space.
