Look-Up Table Based Digital Pre-Distortion Technique Using Simple Square-root Approximation (간단한 제곱근 근사를 이용한 Look-Up Table 기반 디지털 전치 왜곡 기법)

  • 이동통신 시스템의 OFDM(Othogonal frequency division multiplexing) 신호는 큰 PAPR(Peak to Average Power Ratio)을 가지기 때문에 비선형 특성을 가지는 전력 증폭기의 효율 감소를 가져온다. 이러한 전력 증폭기의 비선형 특성을 개선하여 효율을 증가시키기 위해서 전력 증폭기의 역 특성을 가지는 디지털 전치 왜곡기가 이용된다. 본 논문에서는 제곱근 근사를 이용한 Look-up Table(LUT) 기반의 디지털 전치왜곡(Digital Pre-Distortion :DPD) 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방식은 복소 이득(Complex Gain) LUT 구조에서 입력신호의 크기를 구할 때, 기존의 테이블을 이용하여 제곱근 연산을 하는 방식보다 좋은 성능을 내면서 근사를 위한 테이블의 메모리를 필요로 하지 않는다. 또한 간단한 쉬프트 연산 등을 이용하므로 DSP 또는 MCU 기반의 DPD를 구현할 때 간단하게 구현 될 수 있다는 장점을 갖는다. 컴퓨터 모의실험을 통해 제안하는 제곱근 근사방식을 이용한 DPD와 기존의 방식을 사용한 DPD를 비교함으로써 제안하는 방식이 기존 방식보다 좋은 성능을 내면서도 보다 효율적으로 구현될 수 있음을 검증하였다.

An Efficient Method to Determine the Phase Current Commands of SR Motors for Minimum Torque Ripples (SR 모터의 토크리플을 최소화하는 상전류명령 결정 방법)

  • The generated torque of a switched reluctance(SR) motor is highly nonlinear, which makes it difficult to determine the reference current commands for minimum torque ripples. In this paper, we present a computationally simple and efficient method to minimize torque ripples of SR motors based on iterative learning control. The reference current command of each phase minimizing torque ripples is identified in 2-dimensional look-up table form. Our learning control algorithm does not require the torque model, so our method is not affected by model errors and hence is very accurate. In order to justify our work, we present some computer simulation results.

Robust Watermarking in Medical Images Using by Polar Transformation (의료영상에서 Polar 변환을 적용한 강인한 워터마킹 기법)

  • Medical images are being managed more by PACS in general medical institutions. It is important to protect patients from being invaded their privacy related to the images. It is also necessary to confirm the ownership, the right of property of the medical images and notice whether the data are modified. In this paper, we propose a robust watermarking against RST attacks in medical images on the PACS. The proposed scheme modifies and improves Log-Polar Mapping and Fourier Mellin Transform in order to realize and recover serious image degradation and watermark data loss caused by the conversion between cartesian coordinate and log-polar coordinate. We used the radius and theta Look Up Table to solve the realization of the Fourier Mellin Transform, and inserted a watermark into 2D-DFT magnitudes using Spread Spectrum. Experimental results shows that this method are robust to rotation attack.

Study on Optimization of Look-Up Table to Reduce Error of Three-dimensional Interpolation (3차원 보간 오차를 개선하기 위한 룩업 테이블의 최적화에 관한 연구)

  • The three dimensional interpolation is widely used for many kinds of color signal transformation such as real-time color gamut mapping. Given input color signal, the output color signal is approximately calculated by the interpolation with the input point and extracted values from a lookup table which is constructed by storing the values of transformation at regularly packed sample points. Apparently, errors of the interpolated approximation heavily depend on the selection of the lookup table. In this paper, a least square method is applied to assigning values of the lookup table with fixed size in order to minimize error of three-dimensional interpolation. The experimental result shows that the proposed method has better interpolation performance.

  • In this paper, We are composed the position recognition and speed control using the moving robot in the shield Room with a RF Module and Ultrasonic Sensors. Double look up tables are selected a reference value/duty ratio. The moving robot with the dual fuzzy rules which can decrease a Conversion time than basic fuzzy control rules at start point and curve region. Also, a changing times of double look up table are rise at specific points b1,c1,d1 in the e-${\Delta}e$ phase plane and the one of the look up table is used which for increase rising time at transition area, the other used for rapidly conversion to the reference value. We verified that a dual fuzzy control rules get the good response compare with the basic fuzzy control rule.

  • This paper describes a hardware implementation method of a Petri Net-based controller. A flexible and systematic implementation method, based on look-up tables, is suggested, which enables to build high speed Petri net-based controllers. The suggested method overcomes the inherent speed limit that arises from the microprocessors by using of matrix-based look-up tables. Based on the matrix framework, this paper suggests various specific data path structures as well as a basic data path structure, accompanied by evolution algorithms, for sub-class Petri nets. A new sub-class Petri net, named Biarced Petri Net, resolves memory explosion problem that usually comes with matrix-based look-up tables. The suggested matrix-based method based on the Biarced Petri net has as good efficiency and expendability as the list-based methods. This paper shows the usefulness of the suggested method, evaluating the size of the look-up tables and introducing an architecture of the signal processing unit of a programmable controller. The suggested implementation method is supported by an automatic design support program.

  • The most effective way to improve the performance of a fuzzy controller may be to optimize look-up values. Look-up values are derived from processes used input-output scale factors, membership functions, rule base, fuzzy inference method and defuzzification. It is powerful way to modify or organize look-up table values. In this paper, We propose the look-up values self-organizing fuzzy controller(LSOFC). We use the plus-minus tuning method(PMTM), scanning values through the processes of addition and subtraction. We show the efficiency of this LSOFC by the results of simulation for nonlinear time-varying plant with unmodelled dynamics.

  • The proposed Novel OverDriving Technology with Optimum Look-up-Table(LUT)is suggested to be a better solution to reducing the occurrence of overshooting caused by the traditional overdriving method implemented to normally liquid crystal (VA mode). Chunghwa Picture Tubes, LTD. (CPT) has successfully implement this tech into 20 inch TFTLCD TV module at the present day. The proposed technology can speed up gray-to-gray response time of LCD less than one half of frame time. On the side, Optimum LUT construction apply the compression scheme to record total actual grayscale transfer characteristics instead of applying the normal spread method such as linear / non-linear interpolation. The memory space is been reduced and the distortion of the image quality is lesser.

  • In this paper, we presents for the first time an implementation using T-table for PIPO-64/128, 256 which are lightweight block ciphers. While our proposed implementation requires 16 T-tables, we show that the two types of T-tables are circulant and obtain variants implementations that require a smaller number of T-tables. We then discuss trade-off between the number of required T-tables (code size) and throughput by evaluating the throughput of the variant implementations on an Intel Core i7-9700K processor. The throughput-optimized versions for PIPO-64/128, 256 provide better throughput than TLU(Table-Look-Up) reference implementation by factors of 3.11 and 2.76, respectively, and bit-slice reference implementation by factors of 3.11 and 2.76, respectively.

Auto-Exposure Control using Loop-Up Table Based on Scene-Luminance Curve in Mobile Phone Camera (입.출력 특성곡선에 기초한 Look-Up Table 방식의 자동노출제어)

  • Auto-exposure control automatically calculates and adjusts the exposure for consecutive input image. Recently, this is usually controlled by the sensor gain, however, unsuitable control causes oscillation of luminance for sonsecutive input images, called as flickering. Also, in mobile phone cameras, only simple information, such as the average luminance value, can be utilized due to coarse performance. Therefore, this paper presents a new real-time AE control method using a Look Up Table(LUT) based on Scene-Luminance curves to avoid the generation of flickering. Prior to the AE control, a LUT is constructed, which illustrates the characteristic of outputs for input patches corresponding to sensor gains. The AE control is first performed by estimating a current scene as a patch using the proposed LUT. A new sensor gain is then estimated using also LUT with previously estimated patch. The entire estimation process is performed using linear interpolation to achieve real-time execution. Based on experimental results, the proposed AE control is demonstrated with real-time, flicker-free.
