  • Let H be a complex Hilbert space and T : H → H be a bounded linear operator. Then T is said to be norm attaining if there exists a unit vector x0 ∈ H such that ║Tx0║ = ║T║. If for any closed subspace M of H, the restriction T|M : M → H of T to M is norm attaining, then T is called an absolutely norm attaining operator or 𝓐𝓝-operator. In this note, we discuss linear maps on B(H), which preserve the class of absolutely norm attaining operators on H.

  • In this article, we first consider a linear multiplier fractional q-differintegral operator and then use it to define new subclasses of p-valent analytic functions in the open unit disk U. An attempt has also been made to obtain two new q-integral operators and study their sufficient conditions on some classes of analytic functions. We also point out that the operators and classes presented here, being of general character, are easily reducible to yield many diverse new and known operators and function classes.

  • We study a notion of q-frequent hypercyclicity of linear maps between the Banach algebras consisting of operators on a separable infinite dimensional Banach space. We derive a sufficient condition for a linear map to be q-frequently hypercyclic in the strong operator topology. Some properties are investigated regarding q-frequently hypercyclic subspaces as shown in [5], [6] and [7]. Finally, we study q-frequent hypercyclicity of tensor products and direct sums of operators.

  • In this paper, we show that an unbounded $S_0$-demicompact linear operator T with respect to a bounded linear operator $S_0$, acting on a Banach space, can be characterized by the Kuratowskii measure of noncompactness. Moreover, some other quantities related to this measure provide sufficient conditions to the operator T to be $S_0$-demicompact. The obtained results are used to discuss the connection with Fredholm and upper Semi-Fredholm operators.

  • In the present paper we consider an abstract partial dif-ferential equation of the form $\frac{\partial^2u}{{\partial}t^2}-\frac{\partial^2u}{{\partial}x^2}+A(x.t)u=f(x, t)$, where ${A(x, t):(x, t){\epsilon}\bar{G} }$ is a family of linear closed operators and $G=GU{\partial}G$, G is a suitable bounded region in the (x, t)-plane with bound-are ${\partial}G$. It is assumed that u is given on the boundary ${\partial}G$. The objective of this paper is to study the considered Dirichlet problem for a wide class of operators $A(x, t)$. A Dirichlet problem for non-elliptic partial differential equations of higher orders is also considerde.

  • Since Alfsen and Effors [1] introduced the notion of an M-ideal, many authors [3,6,9,12] have worked on the problem of finding those Banach spaces X and Y for which K(X,Y), the space of all compact linear operators from X to Y, is an M-ideal in L(X,Y), the space of all bounded linear operators from X to Y. The M-ideal property of K(X,Y) in L(X,Y) gives some informations on X,Y and K(X,Y). If K(X) (=K(X,X)) is an M-ideal in L(X) (=L(X,X)), then X has the metric compact approximation property [5] and X is an M-ideal in $X^{**}$ [10]. If X is reflexive and K(X) is an M-ideal in L(X), then K(X)$^{**}$ is isometrically isomorphic to L(X)[5]. A weaker notion is a semi M-ideal. Studies on Banach spaces X and Y for which K(X,Y) is a semi M-ideal in L(X,Y) were done by Lima [9, 10].

  • This paper discusses the hypercyclicity of weighted composition operators acting on the space of holomorphic functions on the open unit ball $B_N$ of $\mathbb{C}^N$. Several analytic properties of linear fractional self-maps of $B_N$ are given. According to these properties, a few necessary conditions for a weighted composition operator to be hypercyclic in the space of holomorphic functions are proved. Besides, the hypercyclicity of adjoint of weighted composition operators are studied in this paper.
