In the present study, Navier-Stokes equation is numerically solved by use of a Finite analytic method to obtain the 2-dimensional flow field in the square cavity. The basic idea of F.A.M. is the incorporation of local analytic solutions in the numerical solution of linear or non-linear partial differential equations. In the F.A.M., the total problem is subdivided into a number of all elements. The local analytic solution is obtained for the small element in which the governing equation, if non-linear, to be linearized. The local analytic solutions are then expressed in algebraic form and are overlapped to cover the entire region of the problem. The assembly of these local analytic solutions, which still preserve the overall nonlinearity of the governing equations, results in a system of linear algebraic equations. The system of algebraic equations is then solved to provide the numerical solutions of the total problem. The computed flow field shows the same characteristics to physical concept of flow phenomena.
In the 2015 revised mathematics curriculum, the system of equations is first introduced in 'Variables and Expressions' of [Middle School Grades 1-3]. Then, It is constructed that after learning the linear function in 'Functions', the relationship between the graphs of two linear functions and the systems of linear equations are learned so that students could improve the geometric representation of the systems of equations. However, in of Elective-Centered Curriculum Common Courses, Instruction is limited to algebraic manipulation when teaching and learning systems of quadratic equations. This paper presented the teaching and learning method that can improve students' mathematical connection through various representations by providing geometric representations in parallel using GeoGebra, a mathematics learning software, with algebraic solutions in the teaching and learning situation of simultaneous quadratic equations.
In this article we have presented a unique representation for interval arithmetic. The traditional interval arithmetic is transformed into crisp by symbolic parameterization. Then the proposed interval arithmetic is extended for fuzzy numbers and this fuzzy arithmetic is used as a tool for uncertain finite element method. In general, the fuzzy finite element converts the governing differential equations into fuzzy algebraic equations. Fuzzy algebraic equations either give a fuzzy eigenvalue problem or a fuzzy system of linear equations. The proposed methods have been used to solve a test problem namely heat conduction problem along with fuzzy finite element method to see the efficacy and powerfulness of the methodology. As such a coupled set of fuzzy linear equations are obtained. These coupled fuzzy linear equations have been solved by two techniques such as by fuzzy iteration method and fuzzy eigenvalue method. Obtained results are compared and it has seen that the proposed methods are reliable and may be applicable to other heat conduction problems too.
In this paper we develop a now procedure to control stepsize for linear multistep methods applied to semi-explicit index 1 differential-algebraic equations. in contrast to the standard approach the error control mechanism presented here is based on monitoring and contolling both the local and global errors of multistep formulas. As a result such methods with the local-global stepsize control solve differential-algebraic equation with any prescribed accuracy (up to round-off errors). For implicit multistep methods we give the minimum number of both full and modified Newton iterations allowing the iterative approxima-tions to be correctly used in the procedure of the local-global stepsize control. We also discuss validity of simple iterations for high accuracy solving differential-algebraic equations. Numerical tests support the the-oretical results of the paper.

This paper extends some well-known system theories on algebraic matrix Lyapunov and Riccati equations. These extended results contain two point boundary conditions in matrix differential equations and include conventional results as special cases. Necessary and sufficient conditions are derived under which linear systems are stabilizable with feedback gains derived from periodic two-point boundary matrix differential equations. An iterative computation method for two-point boundary differential Riccati equations is given with an initial guess method. The results in this paper are related to periodic feedback controls and also to the quadratic cost problem with a discrete state penalty.
Most first kind integral equations are ill-posed, and obtaining their numerical solution often requires solving a linear system of algebraic equations of large condition number, which may be difficult or impossible. This article proposes a regularization-direct method to numerically solve first kind Fredholm integral equations. The vector forms of block-pulse functions and related properties are applied to formulate the direct method and reduce the integral equation to a linear system of algebraic equations. We include a regularization scheme to overcome the ill-posedness of integral equation and obtain a stable numerical solution. Some test problems are solved using the proposed regularization-direct method to illustrate its efficiency for solving first kind Fredholm integral equations.

A Haar wavelet based numerical method for solving singularly perturbed linear time invariant system is presented in this paper. The reduced pure slow and pure fast subsystems are obtained by decoupling the singularly perturbed system and differential matrix equations are converted into algebraic Sylvester matrix equations via Haar wavelet technique. The operational matrix of integration and its inverse matrix are utilized to reduce the computational time to the solution of algebraic matrix equations. Finally a numerical example is given to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the proposed method.
The paper describes localization of deformation in a bar under tensile loading. The material of the bar is considered as non-linear viscous elastic and the bar consists of two symmetric halves. It is assumed that the model represents behavior of the quasi-brittle viscous material under uniaxial tension with different loading rates. Besides that, the bar could represent uniaxial stress-strain law on a single plane of a microplane material model. Non-linear material property is taken from the microplane material model and it is coupled with the viscous damper producing non-linear Maxwell material model. Mathematically, the problem is described with a system of two partial differential equations with a non-linear algebraic constraint. In order to obtain solution, the system of differential algebraic equations is transformed into a system of three partial differential equations. System is subjected to loadings of different rate and it is shown that localization occurs only for high loading rates. Mathematically, in such a case two solutions are possible: one without the localization (unstable) and one with the localization (stable one). Furthermore, mass is added to the bar and in that case the problem is described with a system of four differential equations. It is demonstrated that for high enough loading rates, it is the added mass that dominates the response, in contrast to the viscous and elastic material parameters that dominated in the case without mass. This is demonstrated by several numerical examples.

In this paper, we consider the problem of parameter estimation, i.e., definding the internal structure of a linear distribution parameter system from its input/output data. First, a linear partial differential equation describing the system is double-integrated with respect to two variables and then transformed into an integral equation. Next the Walsh Operation Matrix for Walsh function and their integration are introduced to transform the integral equation into algebraic simultaneous equations. Finally, we develop an algorithm to estimate the parameters of the linear distributed parameter system from the simple linear algebraic simultaneous equations. It is also shown that our algorithm could be effective in real time data processing since it uses the Fast Walsh Transform.

This paper introduces mono-implicit general linear methods, a special class of general linear methods, which are implicit in the output solution for the numerical integration of differential algebraic equations. We show how L-stable inherent Runge-Kutta members can be derived. The procedures for implementation have been discussed. The numerical test on the problem considered shows that the methods have improved accuracy when compared to RADAU IIA and the results from MATLAB ode15s, which have been taken as our reference solution.
