교육수준에 따른 한국인의 유배우기대여명 (A study on the Korean Average Marital Life Expectancy by a Standard of Education)

  • 이 연구는 Wolfbein-Wool 노동생명표를 변형한 결혼생명표를 이용하여 교육상태에 따른 한국인의 평균유배우기대여명 차이를 알아보고자 하였다. 2005년 인구총주택조사와 사망원인통계자료를 사용하였고 교육수준은 초등학교이하, 중학교, 고등학교, 대학교이상 총 4개 집단으로 구분하였다. 유배우율, 이혼율, 사별률과 사망률을 기초자료로 사용하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 유배우기대여명은 교육수준이 높은 집단이 높게 나타났다. 연령이 높아지면서 중학교와 고등학교 교육수준을 가진 사람의 격차가 크지 않았고 남자의 경우 더 높게 나타나기도 하였다. 2. 같은 교육수준을 가진 남자가 여자보다 유배우기대여명이 더 길었다. 3. 30세에 결혼한 남자는 대부분의 삶을 배우자와 살지만 모든 교육수준에서 여자는 홀로 10년 이상 사는 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 유배우기대여명은 교육수준에 따라 연령별, 성별 차이가 있었다. 결과에 영향을 주는 변수인 유배우율은 교육수준이 높은 집단일수록 높았고, 이혼율은 교육수준이 높은 집단이 낮은 연령에서는 낮았지만 연령이 높아지면서 제일 높았다. 한편 사별률은 배우자의 사망을 뜻하는데 같은 교육수준을 가진 사람들끼리 결혼하는 것으로 나타나 교육수준별 사망 형태를 가졌다.

골프장의 잔디 토양에서 살균제 Tolclofosmethyl의 분해 (Degradation of the Fungicide Tolclofosmethyl in the Turfgrass Soil of Golf Course)

  • Tolclofosmethyl (TCFM) is heavily and annually applied to the turf soils of most golf courses in Gyeongju to control the fungi known to cause the disease brown patch. The soil samples used for the experiment was collected three weeks after the annual application at the end of May in the year 2002. The preliminary results obtained from this study demonstrated that the repeated field annual applications of TCFM to the turf soils of a golf course located in Gyeongju city in the southern area of Korea showed the enhanced degradation of the parent compound TCFM, especially in the surface ($0{\sim}15\;cm$) soil rather than the shallow subsurface ($15{\sim}30\;cm$) and deep subsurface ($30{\sim}45\;cm$) soils, compared to the corresponding surface ($0{\sim}15\;cm$) and shallow and deep subsurface ($15{\sim}30\;cm$ and $30{\sim}45\;cm$) soils of the untreated plot. It appears that microorganisms in the soil may be involved in the enhanced degradation of TCFM.

골프장 개발에 따른 비점오염 관리를 위한 지침마련에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Nonpoint Source Pollution Management Guideline for Golf Course Construction)

  • 본 연구에서는 비점오염원 설치신고 대상 개발사업장 중 골프장 개발사업장의 배출특성 및 관리실태를 파악하고, 이를 토대로 골프장 개발사업장의 비점오염 관리 방안을 마련하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구에서는 먼저 비점오염의 정의에 대하여 살펴보고 비점오염을 관리하기 위한 방법으로 발생억제와 배출억제 방안들에 대해 고찰하고 현재 골프장 개발사업장에서 운영되고 있는 비점오염 저감시설의 특징과 이에 대한 문제점을 분석하였다. 골프장 비점오염 관리를 위한 모니터링 방안을 조사한 결과, 골프장 건설전, 건설중, 건설후로 구 분하여 모니터링을 실시할 필요가 있으며, 골프장 건설중 모니터링은 유사량과 토양유실에 집중할 필요가 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 골프장에서 발생하는 비점오염을 저감하기 위한 방법으로 골프장 건설단계에 따라 대책을 마련하는 방법과 비점오염의 발생원인에 따라 침식 억제와 유사운송억제로 구분하여 대책을 마련하는 방법, 오염물질의 저감을 위한 방법에 따라 구조적, 비구조적 대책으로 구분하여 대책을 마련하는 것이 있다. 골프장 건설사업장에서 발생하는 비점오염을 저감하기 위해 체계적인 모니터링을 통해 비점오염의 거동을 분석하고 골프장 건설단계, 발생원인, 비점오염 저감을 위한 방법등을 고려하여 적절한 비점오염 저감시설을 설치하여 효과적으로 비점오염을 저감하는 대책을 마련하는 것이 필요하다.

영양사 배출 관련학과의 전공과목 강화 및 개발에 관한 연구 제1보 -영양사 및 대학 교수의 전공과목 강화에 대한 의견 조사 (A Study on Reinforcement and Development of Course Programs in Department of Food Science and Nutrition Related Studies 1st Report -Based on Survey of Dietitians and Professors -)

  • This study was conducted to obtain basic data for reinforcing and developing course programs in department of Food Science and Nutrition. For this purpose, data was collected from dietitians and professors who work at 2-and 4-year colleges. Results are as follows. 1. Many respondents (95.7%) support that It Is desirable to separate dietitian license into two types. Reasons are (1) specific knowledge required by job type is different(29.5%), and (2) to increse job performance (29.3%). 2. Most respondents(95.4%) agree that course programs are needed to be revised. Because (1) current programs are inadequate to provide specific knowledge required at field work (67.8%), and (2) the programs are not helpful to increase job performance of dietitians (54.1%). 3. Respondents of dietitians want to extend applied science area(37.7%) and reinforce lab training (63.1%), as principles of program revision. 4. Course titles which need to be reinforced are Internship(95.8%) and Lap training(67.8%). 5. Specialized areas which need to be reinforced are Food Service Managemant and Practical Training(90.9%), Nutrition Education and Guide(88.9%), Public Health Nutrition(79.0%), Basic Area for Clinics(85.6%), Basic area for Education and Counselling(87.1%), and Cooking Science(77.5%) 6. Courses which are needed to be reinforced by respondents(over 75% agree) are Computer Management for Food Service, Counselling, Nutrition and Disease, Diet Therapy, Quantity Cooking, Internship, Public Health (Health Care), Community Nutrition(Environment and Nutrition), Clinical Nutrition, Psychology, and Communication.

착의훈련을 통해 향상된 내한능력의 지속성에 대한 연구 (Time Course of Increased Cold Tolerance Resulting from Cool Clothing in Daily Life)

  • To study the time course of increased cold tolerance, the physiological responses were measured during the course of a 2-yr study (Feb. 1995~Feb. 1996) of four female college students, whose cold tolerance was proved to be increased through wearing cool clothing in daily life from Sep. 1994 to Feb. 1995. To determine their cold tolerance, subjects rested at 25$\pm$1$^{\circ}C$, then were exposed to 15$\pm$1$^{\circ}C$, 50$\pm$5% R.H. for 90min in Feb. 1995 and Feb. 1996. Subjects' rectal temperatures, mean skin temperatures, heat production, shivering onset, thermal sensations, and comfort showed no significant changes, when they were measured in 1995 and 1996. Based on these results, we can safely assume that mild cold acclimatization coming from wearing cool clothing lasts at least oneyear, that is until the following year. One of the possible explanations for this is that the subjects did not increase their clothing thermalresistances after the cold acclimatization.

  • This study investigated the effect of the 'Chemistry in everyday life' course for 234 pre-service elementary teachers on their beliefs regarding science teaching efficacy and the nature of science. This study also examined the effect of this particular course by their field (natural science, humanities & social science, and fine arts). The results show that after the semester the pre-service teachers' science teaching efficacy beliefs were enhanced. In particular, their personal science teaching efficacy beliefs were improved across all fields. However, their beliefs regarding the nature of science remained largely unchanged. This study discussed the implications surrounding science courses for pre-service teachers.

한국인의 생애 주기별 교육 수준에 따른 영양 상태와 식품 불충분성-2005년도 국민건강영양조사 자료를 이용하여 (Nutritional Status and Food Insufficiency of Korean Population through the Life-Course by Education Level Based on 2005 National Health and Nutrition Survey)

  • This study aimed to identify a nutritionally vulnerable group and to examine their nutritional problems based on a relationship between socioeconomic position and nutritional status through life-course. A cross-sectional nationwide survey of 2005 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) was used. A total of 8,930 participants aged $\geq$ 1 year were included. The socioeconomic position indicator was education level. Nutritional status was assessed by the percentage attainment of a dietary reference intake (DRI) and dietary quality based on nutrient intakes estimated by a 24 hour-recall data. Food insufficiency was examined by one-item food insufficiency questionnaire. The difference in nutritional status and food insufficiency according to educational level was tested by General Linear Model and Chi-square test, respectively. The nutritional status and food insufficiency was the worst during adolescence and older age than other period. Both quantity and quality of nutrient intakes was poorer in low education group than high education group. The prevalence of food insufficiency also was higher in low education group. The results were consistent across the life-course and sex. Based on these findings, we suggest that the development of various policy and strategies targeted to nutritionally vulnerable group is necessary to reduce nutritional inequality by socioeconomic position.

  • Background: The free vascularized fibula flap presents many advantages such as sufficient length of the bony segment, good vascularization, better quality of the bone, and a long vascular pedicle, but it is also associated with some disadvantages with regard to prosthetic rehabilitation because of its limited height. Improvement in bone height is necessary for ideal dental implant treatment of reconstructed mandibles. Case presentation: For two squamous cell carcinoma patients, mandibular bone reconstruction was performed secondarily with the peroneal flap after tumor resection. Since the bone height was insufficient at the time of implant treatment, occlusion reconstruction by dental implant was performed after vertical distraction osteogenesis. Conclusions: Vertical distraction osteogenesis is a suitable treatment option for alveolar ridge deficiency resulting from fibula transplantation for mandibular reconstruction following tumor surgery.

선택과목 '의료와 여성(Women in Medicine)'에 대한 학생반응 분석 (An analysis on the students' responses of the elective course, "Women in Medicine")

  • Even though 35% of Korean medical students are female, medical schools and hospitals maintain a strongly male-dominated culture which discourages female students from active career development. In 2006, Yonsei Medical school instigated an elective course entitled "Women in Medicine" to encourage and stimulate 51 female students who enrolled the course. Researchers conducted participant observations at all 6 lectures, as well as 2 surveys and 4 student fucus group discussions comprising a total of 18 students. The total satis faction r ate of the course was high at 4.6 points out of a 5-point score Nevertheless, the study results confirmed three conflict points between lectures and students. Firstly, the lecturers emphasized the excellence and carrier-goal oriented life style, whereas most students are more interested in an ordinary women doctor's life. Secondly, the lecturers emphasized the importance of husband and family's support for success in their career but most female students have little confidence in their ability to achieve a balance between work and family. Thirdly, the lecturers emphasized the women doctor who is able to lead a team effectively, but women students have few opportunities to play a leadership role in their school life. These study findings imply that there is a generation gap in the concept of "successful women doctor's life" between lecturers and students. and that interactive dialogue between lecturer and students is more important than lecture style presentations from extremely successful female doctors. In addition to such lectures, a leadership program based on active student participation should be developed.

방사선 치료를 받는 암환자의 피로, 삶의 질 및 신체 증상의 변화 양상 (Trajectory of Fatigue, Quality of Life and Physical Symptoms in Cancer Patients Receiving Radiotherapy)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this longitudinal prospective study was to assess changes in fatigue and quality of life for a 6-week course of radiotherapy. Method: A descriptive and longitudinal design was used to this study. Twenty-three subjects receiving radiotherapy from a radiotherapy clinic of a general hospital completed the questionnaires. Fatigue was measured using Lee's scale(1999) and quality of life using Yang's scale(2002) weekly for 6 weeks. Result: Fatigue significantly increased(F=6.043, p=.000), and quality of life significantly decreased (F=3.938, p=.003) and physical symptoms also significantly increased(F=2.432, p=.039) during a 6-week radiotherapy. Multiple regression analysis revealed that fatigue at the first week and physical symptoms at the 6th week were the significant affecting variables(60.1% of the variance) on fatigue. And 63.2% of the variance in quality of life was explained by quality of life and fatigue at the first week and body weight change for 6 weeks radiotherapy. Conclusion: Based on these results, the fatigue and quality of life at the beginning time of radiotherapy have a lasting impact throughout the course of treatment. It suggests that nurses provide patients with information about the occurrence of fatigue during radiotherapy and the practical methods of intervening physical symptoms.
