This paper aims to analyze discourse metaphors by paying attention to Seoul mayoral by-election, mainly focusing on election campaign and its related news articles. The 2021 Seoul mayoral by-election was held because the former mayor died in an apparent suicide after he was accused of years of sexual harassment to a former secretary. But in the run-up to the by-election, the newly coined word 'alleged victim' from the ruling party caused a big controversy because the party attempted to deny the authenticity of the secretary's claim by calling her "an alleged victim," instead of "a victim" to defend the former mayor who is a member of the ruling party, implying that the woman's claim is just an allegation with no proof. Thus, this paper has analyzed how news stories were reported with regard to the word 'alleged victim' poser on news stories in two Korean quality newspapers, a conservative newspaper (Chosun Ilbo) and a liberal newspaper (Hankyoreh) from March 1 to April 1, 2021 and analyzed them with the framework of Lakoff and Johnson's Conceptual Metaphor Theory(1980). The findings are as follows: (i) the conservative newspaper reports this issue much more than the liberal newspaper; (ii) both quality newspapers follow the metaphor principles by Conceptual Metaphor Theory; (iii) the conservative newspaper is more likely to follow the Strick Father model (a conservative model) while the liberal newspaper is to follow the Nurturant Parent model (a liberal model), thus indicating that each newspaper's ideology is well represented by the models of Conceptual Metaphor Theory

본 연구는 '블리자드(Blizzard)'사(社)의 게임 '하스스톤(Hearthstone)'에 적용된 창조적·문화적 의역에 대해 확인하고 이에 대한 수용자들의 반응을 고찰하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 의역의 기법에 대해 고찰한 뒤 다양한 의역 번역 전략이 '하스스톤'에 어떻게 적용되었으며 의역된 번역어들에 대한 수용자의 반응을 설문조사를 통해 확인하였다. 그 결과 수용자들은 번역어가 원어의 의미와 멀지 않은 번역을 선호했으나 대체할 적절한 단어가 없는 경우에는 다소 의미에 거리가 있어도 번역을 수용했다.

South Korean users of second language have been often heard such assessments as "you don't' have confidence" and "your writing is good, but your speech is poor." Some scholars have pointed out the teaching method as the cause. In other countries, the mainstreamargument is that students can have practical language experience in a more liberal atmosphere through small group-oriented classes rather than through teacher-centered whole-group activities in foreign language curriculums. Many teachers are using various learning tools or a combination of different teaching methods to minimize the shortcomings of the grammar translation method. However, unlike other studies, the present study focuses on improving the grammar translation teaching method itself.

이 논문에서 우리는 힐베르트의 저서 '기하학의 기초'에 관한 여러 문헌들을 소개하고 '기하학의 기초'의 내용을 간략하게 살펴본다. 그리고 1902년에 발행된 (독일어) 초판 영문번역과 1971년에 발행된 (독일어) 10판 영문번역의 내용과 용어 및 표현에 어떤 변화가 있는지 살펴보고 이런 변화가 외국어 수학고전을 우리말로 옮기거나 우리말 수학도서를 저술하는 일에 대하여 시사하는 바를 논한다.

본 연구는 초급반 L2 쓰기 수업에서 번역기의 사용 현황을 조사하고, 그들이 응답한 번역기의 필요성, 신뢰도, 한계를 통해 그 타당성을 조명하고자 했다. 대학에서 초급 L2 수업을 수강한 117명의 학생이 설문조사에 참여했고, 그 가운데 11명은 추가적으로 실시된 심층면접에서 응답 내용을 설명했다. 수집된 자료에서 쓰기 수업에 활용된 번역기의 신뢰 정도, 효과, 사용 범위 등에 대한 다양한 관점들이 제시되었다. 응답자의 76.1%가 쓰기 활동에서 나름대로의 방법과 목적을 가지고 번역기를 사용하고 있었다. 그들은 번역기를 통해 부족한 영어 능력을 보완했고, 그 과정에서 수업참여의 동기와 자신감이 고취되었다고 설명했다. 반면에, 학생들은 부정확한 기계번역을 검토와 수정이라는 중요한 학습 과정을 생략한 채 그대로 옮겨 쓰게 된다면 학습 효과도 없을 뿐 아니라 표절행위가 될 수 있음을 지적했다. 그럼에도 불구하고 번역기는 이 시대에 새롭게 등장한 효율적인 학습 도구이며 효과적이고 완성도 있는 글쓰기를 위해 활용될 가치가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

최근 딥러닝 기반 자연언어처리 연구들은 다양한 출처의 대용량 데이터들을 함께 학습하여 성능을 올리고자 하는 연구들을 진행하고 있다. 그러나 다양한 출처의 데이터를 하나로 합쳐서 학습시키는 방법론은 성능 향상을 막게 될 가능성이 존재한다. 기계번역의 경우 병렬말뭉치 간의 번역투(의역, 직역), 어체(구어체, 문어체, 격식체 등), 도메인 등의 차이로 인하여 데이터 편차가 발생하게 되는데 이러한 말뭉치들을 하나로 합쳐서 학습을 시키게 되면 성능의 악영향을 미칠 수 있다. 이에 본 논문은 기계번역에서 병렬말뭉치 간의 균형성을 고려한 Corpus Weight Balance (CWB) 학습 방법론을 제안한다. 실험결과 말뭉치 간의 균형성을 고려한 모델이 그렇지 않은 모델보다 더 좋은 성능을 보였다. 더불어 단일 말뭉치로도 고품질의 병렬 말뭉치를 구축할 수 있는 휴먼번역 시장과의 상생이 가능한 말뭉치 구축 프로세스를 추가로 제안한다.

The "Dong-uibogam(東醫寶鑑)" is a Korean medical book which represents the Korean Oriental Medicine and compiled by the royal physician, Heo Jun. It was placed on UNESCO's Memory of the World Programme in the year of 2009. It has been translated and published in Korean 7 times so far, and most of them depended on the liberal translation. This study has a purpose to investigate the Korean version in the view of Chinese writing grammar, and the results can be concluded as follows ; 1. The Korean version shows insufficient translation of individual morpheme in the sentence which has the prepositions with the pronouns or the conjunctions. 2. Most of the versions failed to translate the syntax properties of the demonstrative pronoun; '之' and '其'. 3. Some of the versions are not successful in the understanding of the constituent of sentence correctly. 4. Many of the adverbial phrases are not translated, which is the constituent of modifier in the sentence. 5. Some sentences are mistranslated by the paragraphs. 6. Some of them failed to understand the significances of the vocabularies.

어떤 언어도 다른 언어와 분리되어 독립적으로 존재할 수 없다. 언어는 외래문화와 접촉하게 되면 서로 끊임없는 영향을 미치고 변화를 불러일으킨다. 90년대 이후 세계 과학기술 및 정보화의 급속적인 발전으로 한국의 드라마, K-POP으로 파생된 한류 붐은 중국 언어에도 영향을 미쳐 중국 온오프라인에서 한국어 차용 신조어가 교류 상용어이자 사회 유행어가 되고 있다. 한국어 차용 신조어는 중국어와 한국어의 언어접촉의 영향과 결과를 반영한 것으로 우리는 한국어 차용 중국어 신조어의 발생 배경과 원인을 사회문화요인과 심리적 필요성을 근거로 살펴보고, 신조어를 음역, 의역, 한국한자어 차용, 기타 4가지 유형으로 나누어 설명하였다. 신조어는 조어 과정에서 발생하는 비규범적인 문제에도 불구하고 중국어 표현을 더욱 풍부하게 하며, 언어적인 면에서도 새로움과 변화, 혁신적이고 창조적인 것을 추구하는 중국 세대의 견해와 이해를 반영하는 사회문화의 거울이 된다. 우리는 한·중 양국 젊은이들이 상대언어와 문화를 이해하고 소통하여 서로 우호적인 감정을 가질 수 있는 인식 변화의 계기가 될 수 있기를 기대하며, 향후 중국어 교육 현장에서도 한·중 언어융합의 응용을 통한 교수 및 학습에 도움이 되길 기대한다.

This paper proposes a face tracking algorithm for a viewpoint adaptive multi-view synthesis system. The original scene captured by a depth camera contains a texture image and 8 bit gray-scale depth map. From this original image, multi-view images that correspond to the viewer's position can be synthesized using geometrical transformations, such as rotation and translation. The proposed face tracking technique gives a motion parallax cue by different viewpoints and view angles. In the proposed algorithm, the viewer's dominant face, which is established initially from a camera, can be tracked using the statistical characteristics of face colors and deformable templates. As a result, a motion parallax cue can be provided by detecting the viewer's dominant face area and tracking it, even under a heterogeneous background, and synthesized sequences can be displayed successfully.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the distribution of ancient Korean books around the world, and to study the process and impact of Myongsimbogam's distribution to East Asia and Europe. Research design, data and methodology: This study conducted literature research as its research method. The scope of research covers Korea, China, Japan, Vietnam, Spain, Germany and Russia. Results: Ancient Korean books were distributed through the Kwanpan and Banggakbon, and leaked overseas in historical circumstances. Myongsimbogam was distributed to Korea, China, Japan, Vietnam, Spain, France, Germany, and Russia. Myongsimbogam was the first ancient book to be translated into Western languages. Conclusions: The distribution of Myongsimbogam promoted the exchange of spiritual civilizations in the East and West, and became the basis for maintaining an individual philosophy, as well as social order. Therefore, the distribution of Myongsimbogam needs to be further expanded. For this, it is necessary to translate Myongsimbogam into English and popularize it through e-books, audio books and various lectures. While previous studies on Myongsimbogam have mainly focused on personality and moral education, this study is significant in that it examines the distribution and dissemination process of Myongsimbogam, its influence and significance.
