  • The amount of data a related to a person is so substantial that it appears that a digital version of them can be built thereon. They are usually handled as personal information, and the attempts made to understand personal information have led to bundling and unbundling of various data, yielding numerous fragmented categories of personal information. Therefore, we attempt to construct a generalizable lens for a deeper understanding of person-related data. We develop a theoretical framework that provides a fundamental method to understand these data as an entity of a digitally represented person based on literature review as well as the concepts of inforg and infosphere. The proposed framework suggests person-related data consist of three informational inforg dimensions that can preserve the archetype of a person, form, content, and interaction. Subsequently, the framework is examined and tested through several analyses in two different contexts: social media and online shopping mall. This framework demonstrates the suggested dimensions are interrelated with certain patterns, the prominent dimension can determine the data characteristics, and the dimensional composition of data types can imply the characteristics of the digitally represented person in certain contexts.

  • The transition to a non-face-to-face consumer society has rapidly occurred since Covid-19. The need for a subdivided urban logistics policy centered on courier delivery, a life-friendly last-mile logistics service, has been raised. This study proposes a SNS-based method that can analyze the demand relationship by region and product, respectively. We extend the market basket network (MBN) and co-purchased product network (CPN), find product category patterns, and confirm regional differences by using delivery order data. Our results imply that SNA analysis can be effectively applied to inventory distribution or product (SKU) selection strategies in urban logistics.

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the immunomodulatory effects of red doraji (Platycodon grandiflorum, RD) prepared by repeated steaming and drying process in the immune-suppressed mice induced by pre (RD-A) or post-treatment (RD-B) with cyclophosphamide. The immune-stimulating effects of ethanol RD extract in in vivo at 150 (RD-1) and 300 mg/kg body weight (RD-2) for RD-A and RD-B groups were measured and compared to the NC group supplied with distilled water only or positive control group. After 14 days of oral supplement, serum IgA, IgG, and cytokine levels, splenocytes proliferation rate, NK cell activity, and gene expression of cytokines were measured as immune related biomarkers. Serum IgA, IgG, IL-1β, and IL-12 levels increased in both RD-A and RD-B groups while serum TNF-α level decreased in RD-A group compared to the NC group. Splenocytes proliferation rate, NK cell activity, and cytokine (IL-1β, IL-6, IFN-γ) expression levels were also improved by RD supplement in the both groups. The RD showed more significant immunomodulatory effects at higher dose (RD-2) rather than the lower dose (RD-1). Thus, RD has an immune efficacy in a dose dependent manner and can be used as an immune stimulating source to improve immunity.

  • As smart TVs have recently emerged as the center of the IoT ecosystem, their importance is increasing. If a vulnerability occurs within a smart TV, there is a possibility that it will cause financial damage, not just in terms of privacy invasion and personal information leakage due to sniffing and theft. Therefore, in this paper, to enhance the completeness of smart TV vulnerability analysis, STRIDE threat classification are used to systematically identify threats. In addition, through the manufacture of the Attack Tree and the actual vulnerability analysis, the effectiveness of the checklist was verified and security requirements were derived for the safe smart TV use environment.

  • Here in this study, we isolated 1,2,3,4,6-penta-O-galloyl-${\beta}$-D-glucose (PGG) from Curcuma longa L. and elucidated the lifespan-extending effect of PGG using Caenorhabditis elegans model system. In the present study, PGG demonstrated potent lifespan extension of worms under normal culture condition. Then, we determined the protective effects of PGG on the stress conditions such as thermal and oxidative stress. In the case of heat stress, PGG-treated worms exhibited enhanced survival rate, compared to control worms. In addition, PGG-fed worms lived longer than control worms under oxidative stress induced by paraquat. To verify the possible mechanism of PGG-mediated increased lifespan and stress resistance of worms, we investigated whether PGG might alter superoxide dismutase (SOD) activities and intracellular ROS levels. Our results showed that PGG was able to elevate SOD activities of worms and reduce intracellular ROS accumulation in a dose-dependent manner.

  • In the course of screening for antioxidant compounds by measuring the DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) radical scavenging effect and superoxide quenching activity, methanol extract of Cyperus flaccidus (Cyperaceae) was found to show potent antioxidant activities. Subsequent activity-guided fractionation of the methanolic extract led to the isolation of ten compounds, kaempferol-3,7-O-${\alpha}$-L-dirhamnopyranoside (1), caffeic acid (2), quercetin-3-O-${\alpha}$-L-rhamnopyranosyl($1{\rightarrow}6$)-${\beta}$-D-glucopyranoside (3), kaempferol-3-O-${\alpha}$-L-rhamnopyranoside (4), quercetin-3-O-${\alpha}$-L-rhamnopyranoside (5), luteoiln-7-O-${\beta}$-D-glucopyranoside (6), kaempferol-3-O-${\alpha}$-L-rhamnopyranosyl($1{\rightarrow}6$)-${\beta}$-D-glucopyranoside (7), luteoiln (8), quercetin (9) and quercetin-3-O-${\beta}$-D-glucuronide (10). Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic studies. Compounds 1 - 10 were isolated for the first time from this plant. Among them, compounds 2, 8 and 9 showed the significant radical scavenging effects on DPPH, and the potent xanthine-originated superoxide quenching activities.

  • In the course of screening for antioxidant compounds by measuring the radical scavenging effect on 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), a total extract of the twigs of Taxillus delavayi (Loranthaceae) was found to show potent radical scavenging activity. Subsequent activity-guided fractionation of the methanolic extract led to the isolation of two phenolic compounds, catechin (1) and galloyl catechin (2), as active principles. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic studies. These two compounds showed the significant antioxidative effects on DPPH, and riboflavin- and xanthin-originated superoxide quenching activities. And these two compounds also showed strong nitric oxide radical scavenging effects. In riboflavin- and xanthin-originated superoxide quenching activities and nitric oxide radical scavenging effect, compound 2 showed better antioxidant activities than vitamin C.

  • The seed of Vigna angularis (Ohwi) Ohwi & Ohashi (= Phaseolus angularis W. F. Wight, Leguminosae) is one of well-known folk foodstuffs in Korea, China and Japan. In the course of screening for antioxidants from natural plants in Korea by measuring the radical scavenging effect on 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) a methanol extract of the seeds of V. angularis were found to show a potent antioxidant activity. And the ethyl acetate soluble fraction of V. angularis (VAEA) showed the most potent DPPH radical scavenging and superoxide quenching activities. To reveal the effect of antioxidant activities of VAEA, we tested the thermal and oxidative stress tolerances, activities of SOD and catalase, and intracellular ROS level in Caenorhabditis elegans. Consequently, VAEA-fed worms lived longer than control worms under the thermal and oxidative stress conditions. And VAEA elevated SOD and catalase activities of worms, and reduced intracellular ROS accumulation in a dose-dependent manner.

  • Obesity is a disease in which an abnormally large amount of fat accumulates in the body. Various diseases such as type 2 diabetes, dyslipidemia, high blood pressure, fatty liver, gallbladder disease, and coronary artery disease are induced. In this study, we investigated the effect of betaone, a type of barley, on obesity suppression. After the betaone extract was treated with 3T3 L1 adipocytes, the effect on adipocyte formation was investigated through Oil Red O staining. It was observed that differentiation was inhibited without affecting the viability of 3T3 L1 adipocytes. The effect of betaone extract on obesity inhibition in a mouse model was investigated. As a result of administering betaone extract after a high-fat diet, it was confirmed that the level of blood sugar and body weight was decreased, and glucose uptake ability was improved in a glucose tolerance test. The formation of mouse adipose tissue was suppressed, and the expression of genes involved in the formation and degradation of obesity in liver tissue was improved. These results suggest that betaone extract is a useful substance for improving obesity and is an excellent material for health functional food.
