전 세계적으로 대형 공원 설계공모가 급증하고 있지만 이에 대한 체계적 검토와 비판적 연구는 드물다. 대표적인 대형 공원 설계공모였던 행정중심복합도시 중앙녹지공간 국제설계공모는 동시대 대형 공원의 설계 전략을 고찰할 수 있는 의미 있는 소재이다. 본 연구는 공모전의 지침서 및 '대형 공원'과 관련된 기존의 문헌 연구를 통해 분석틀을 마련하고, 이를 바탕으로 열개의 결선작을 분석하였다. 분석틀로 도출된 네 가지 질문은 대형 공원에 대한 접근 방식, 프로세스 설계, 공원의 지속가능성, 도시와의 관계이다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대형 공원의 설계 개념은 주로 대상지 내부의 특성에서 나온다. 특히 공원의 정체성 확보가 대형 공원에서는 중요하다. 둘째, 본 연구의 네 가지 질문을 모두 만족시킨 설계안은 찾기 어려웠으며, 여전히 시각적, 형태중심적, 결과중심적 설계가 많았다. 셋째, 대형 공원의 '지속가능성'은 생태적 측면, 재정적 측면, 프로그램 측면, 커뮤니티 측면 등 다양한 측면을 아우르는 포괄적인 개념이다. 하지만 그 개념이 아직 모호하고, 구체적인 운영 및 관리 프로그램들이 부족하다. 넷째, 대형 공원은 도시와의 관계 맺기에 적극적으로 나선다. 특히, '생산하는 공원'과 '도시의 자급자족성 확보'는 대형 공원에 요청되는 중요한 필요조건이다.

Many efforts have been made to improve the management of large-scale green spaces. How to manage large-scale green spaces and their active uses, as well as how to build relationships with local communities have been important issues. For this research, I reviewed the actual status of management, use and citizen participation at large-scale regional parks in Hyogo Prefecture. In addition, I studied the sustainable management through citizen participation of the Awaji Island Regional Park, where I have been involved for several years. I conducted various projects related to the use and management of the park, and examined the direction of citizen participation by conducting questionnaires and interviews. (1) Through interviews about the park, I collected opinions, including good points, problems, and potential solutions through physical and programming measures. (2) I examined what kinds of activities should be conducted in the park in order to revitalize park use and stimulate the surrounding communities. (3) I examined the current status of citizen participation while citizens carried out activities of their own planning. (4) I studied what is necessary to sustain park events and other activities. As a result, I came to the following conclusions. (1) Provision of information that is easy to access, including signs in the park, explanation of routes in large parks, and other techniques that help people become familiar with park facilities, is very important. (2) Local community events, and programs that draw out the willingness and capabilities of volunteers are effective. (3) Several different types of participation exist, including volunteers, guests, staff who work continuously for the project, coordinators, and professional specialists. (4) To sustain citizen involvement in the use and management of large-scale parks, a system that includes coordinators should be developed.

The 21st century is currently undergoing an era of urban regeneration. The purpose of this research is to secure and expand the green infrastructure with zoning regulation in the context of urban regeneration. This objective also seeks a way of urban regeneration through the use of existing large parks by employing park-based mixed use districts around the periphery of large urban parks and green spaces. This research examines the limits, problems of existing single- and mixed-use zoning districts for securing of green infrastructure by book review. This research finally advocates introducing a another type of urban mixed-use districts, namely park-based mixed use district and its characteristics and functions, by using landscape ecology and landscape urbanism as a theoretical basis. The results of this research suggested that large parks and green spaces should be considered as one of patch in landscape ecology. This research also discusses the possibility that, as patches have ecotones with greater biodiversity in the peripheral areas of it, the green infrastructure can be constructed around the periphery of large urban large parks and green spaces by introducing cultural ecotone of nature's convergence with the city. As a result, the green infrastructure and high density of land use and using behaviour can be increased. Park-based mixed use districts encourage the convergence of parks and the city, with the park being used as the main function; residential, commercial, business and cultural uses etc. are partial functions. In order for the park-based mixed use districts to be designated, the size of large urban parks and green spaces, as well as location, city function and condition of the peripheral areas all need to be considered. The necessity to examine the designated width of the park-based mixed use districts and the form of the peripheral area was also discussed. This research, which is based on investigative research results, suggests that further in-depth and comprehensive analysis of the actual condition of urban large parks and peripheral areas needs to be completed. Specialists and other interested parties, analysis and investigation on related plans and designs are also needed for the institutional practice.

In this paper, a simple and computationally efficient approach to non-isothermal three-dimensional analysis of hot forging processes is presented based on rigid-thermoviscoplastic finite element method. In the approach, the temperatures of dies are considered to be constant. Two hot forging processes of large crank shafts ranging from 800 to 1000 kg are simulated using the simple approach.

Although large space structures(LSS) such as a space station, a solar power station satellite, etc., are theoretically distributed parameter and infinite-dimensional systems, they have to be modeled into a lumped parameter and large finite-dimensional system for control system design. Besides, there remains the fundamental problem that the modeled large finite-dimensional system must be controled with a much smaller dimensional controller due to the limitation of computing resources. This causes the spillover phenomenon which degrades control performances and reduces the stability margin. Furthermore, it may destabilize the entire feedback control system. In this paper, we propose a novel spillover suppression method in the active vibration control of large flexible structures by using eigenstructure assignment. Its validity and effectiveness are investigated and verified by the numerical experiments using a simply supported flexible beam, which is modeled to have four controlled modes and eight uncontrolled modes.

High performance and reliability of the storage system to handle a very large amount of data has been become very important. Many techniques have been applied on the various application systems to establish very large capacity storage that satisfy the requirement of high I/O speed and physical or logical failure protection. We applied RAID and LVM to construct a storage system for the global data center which needs a very reliable large capacity storage system. The storage system is successfully established and equipped on the latest Linux application server.

A large scale resonant column testing equipment is under development. The would-be equipment is aiming to test 150mm-diameter specimens, which can contain as large a grain size as 25mm. Such a large specimen is hardly excitated with the existing fixed-free end condition because the torsional force cannot be effectively coupled to the specimen. The specimen will be rather resonated with free-free condition and the scheme is implemented with a rotational bearing installed between coil-magnet exciter and base pedestal. Presently the equipment was assembled and is under calibration with a cylindrical brass specimen.

Large corporations and small and medium-sized enterprises businesses have tried finding cooperative partner models through win-win activity. In this study, certain factors were researched, which affect on the achievements by win-win activity of large corporative and SMEs from a standpoint of development by SMEs, the establishment of confidence, technical innovation and competence of value chain competence in order to enforce supplying value under the win-win activity. The result of this research presents that the achievement of win-win activity by large corporations and SMEs is related positively to developmental capability, cooperative culture, developmental innovation, innovation of process, outer technological innovation and value chain.

As the geotechnical technologies have grown, the size of civil structures has become bigger than before, thereby requiring large-scale geotechnical testing equipments which can evaluate the mechanical behavior of large size testing materials such as gravel, crushed rock and so on. These kind of large testing equipments are usually used to evaluate the mechanical characteristics of large size material which are applied in the large infra structures like dam, seashore structure, coastal landfill, soil-structure interaction and seismic response of large-scale structure. In this research, state-of-the-art information in the field of geotechnical engineering was collected and summarized for such large-scale experimental equipments as large-scale geo-centrifuge, large-scale triaxial testing machine, large-scale direct shear testing apparatus and large-scale oedometer.
