According to the analysis which investigated visitors of HACCP system certified stores and non-visitors of such stores on the awareness of HACCP for livestock products, 77.1% (246 pollees) heard of HACCP certification for livestock products, 67.1% (214 pollees) had seen the HACCP certification mark for livestock products, 62.1% (198 pollees) heard of HACCP certification for livestock products in meet retail shops, and 51.4% (164 pollees) were not aware of the recent TV · subway advertisements regarding HACCP certification for livestock products. For every questionnaire on the awareness of HACCP for livestock products, visitors of HACCP system certified stores showed significantly higher response rate than nonvisitors (p<0.01, p<0.001). The majority of pollees (74.9%, 239 pollees) replied that the word HACCP for livestock products brings up the image of safe livestock products, and 37.0% answered that the term HACCP defines 'Hazard analysis critical control point'. Regarding the questions on HACCP system for livestock products, 38.6% showed that they were most curious in terms of the benefits of such system. The demand analysis on HACCP for livestock products for consumer was also conducted. In the analysis, the demand for support of the policy (4.06 points) was higher than demand for education · public promotion of HACCP (4.03 points) and demand for related application (3.90 points).
Retail space itself could be one of the marketing strategies, through creating space, and communicating brand identity. Especially for innovative products, such as mobile technology products, store is not just to sell products but to provide experiences so that users can fudge usefulness of products and reduce uncertainties to adopt the products. The purpose of this study is to investigate how environmental features and physical artifacts contribute to promote experiences of innovative products in stores and how physical environment help to establish brand identity. For this study, site visits, observation, and literature review were conducted. For case studies, three retail spaces (Apple, Iriver, Sony) and one service space(TTL) were selected. Compared to the service space, three retail spaces have more transparent and open store front design characteristics. For the experiences of shoppers, products displayed in a radial shape, round shape, column shape, and around peripherals of the stores. A service oriented space, TTL zone is differentiated from three retail spaces in terms of layout, store front design, and experience areas. Compared to the traditional stores selling innovative products, the case stores showed more warm atmosphere using various shape, wood materials, lighting fixtures and furniture.
Our government finally understood the true meaning of this wisdom and is attempting to revive the rural area by establishing local produce exhibition hall. This is to allow different regions to promote their specialties and provide diverse experience to the public. However, the reality is that unstructured marketing and PR is not achieving much. Marketing in the past was a paradigm of function and benefit. As we passed 20th century, this was challenged, leading to experiential marketing. Customers' cultural urge and interest in experience and participation are getting stronger. With the facilitation of Promotion Center for local special products, local special products and relevant local communities will be promoted, and the distribution business will grow further. This research was performed to establish basic research materials for planning information center in order to invigorate regional products. This study brought about the following results: first, the Promotion Center for local special products can acquire emotional elements by associating the elements with local special products; secondly, the Promotion Center for local special products can acquire cognitive elements by harmonizing local communities' unique identities with their own other special products; thirdly, the Promotion Center for local special products can acquire behavioral elements by enjoying various experiences and events; fourthly, the Promotion Center for local special products can acquire relational elements by integrating other new spaces.
By the environment-friendly(hereafter EF) agricultural policy and toward the safety food of consumers, there is much glowing supply and demand fur EF agricultural products, in Korea. But, in general, EF agricultural products are blown as unique, unreasonable and high price system. This study aims to make clare the main bodies and competition structure in EF agricultural products and the different from the agricultural products. The mail results of this study are summarized as follows. Firstly, farmers and consumers directly participate in the distribution, and the major distributors participate in the market of EF agricultural products after the certification system is got ready. Because EF agricultural products is not dealt and the price system is not built up in agricultural wholesale market. Secondly, the distribution route of EF agricultural products is organized the unified organization by the main bodies such as farmers, consumers co-op, and special distributors. In any step of distribution, the main body of distribution surely deals with the contracted farmers, consumers co-op, and special distributors. Accordingly, it is said that EF agricultural products has the competition structure between the distribution route organized the unified organization rather than between main bodies in the each steps of distribution.
This research study aimed to examine the seriousness related to sodium over intakes that is becoming a global issue, evaluate how the recognition of sodium-reduced products and its acceptance can influence the intention of purchasing sodium-reduced products, and generate basic data for establishment of marketing strategy of campaigns such as reducing sodium intake and commercialization of sodium-reduced products. According to the results of the research, the acceptance of sodium-reduced products significantly influenced the purchasing intention of sodium-reduced products, while the attitude towards sodium and recognition of sodium did not significantly influence the purchasing intention of sodium-reduced products. Extension of these research findings to ordinary people and the analysis of main causes that affect the recognition of sodium-reduced products and purchasing intention provide a solid basis for efficient sodium-reduction publicity and development of directions for campaigns.
The study was conducted to examine consumers' awareness and perceptions on forest certification and their willingness to buy and pay price premium for certified wood products especially for selected four wood products. A total of 136 residents in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province were interviewed in the autumn of 2008. Although only 24.3 percent of the consumers are aware of forest certification, 82.4 percent of the respondents recognized the need and significance of forest certification. In general, 77.2 percent of the respondents were willing to buy certified wood products. Majority of the respondents, 84 out of 136 respondents (61.8%) expressed their willingness to pay (WTP) from more than 0 percent to less than 10 percent. Consumers' average WTP for certified wood products was estimated to be 5.6 percent. From the results of the study, lower priced wood products, such as copier paper (WTP=9.8%) and wood frame (WTP=11.6%), have higher price premiums than high priced products, such as wood table (WTP=6.8%) and wood flooring (WTP=7.6%). In conclusion, there could be feasible markets for certified wood products in South Korea as four out of five consumer are willing to pay more for such products. For the forest certification system to be adopted and widely accepted, the perceptions of forest stakeholders including consumers should be further increased.
This study analyzed the effects of consumer knowledge and attitudes toward spending on environment-friendly agricultural products. Using data collected from 486 Ulsan housewives, results showed each score of consumer knowledge on and attitude to environment-friendly agricultural products was the middle level, and that mean monthly expenditure on environment-friendly agricultural products was 91,193 won. A multiple regression analysis was computed and indicated that higher spending on environmentally friendly agricultural products was related to high levels of consumer knowledge, positive attitudes to environment-friendly agricultural products, higher levels of household income, being a housewife in terms of occupation position, and post-graduate education levels. Furthermore, results also implied that consumer knowledge and attitudes to environment-friendly agricultural products were of greater influences than the demographic variables in their influence over spending on environment-friendly agricultural products.
The effect of consumers' environmental conservation behavior on the purchase of pro-environmental and used products. This study utilized a representative, large data sample to determine consumers' environmental conservation behavior, and purchase of pro-environmental and used products. Differences in these behavioral traits were investigated by socio-demographic variables. In addition, this study investigated the effect of consumers' environmental conservation behavior on the purchase of pro-environmental and used product. The major result were as follows. First, the level of consumers' environmental conservation behavior was low, and consumers did not buy pro-environmental and used products frequently. Second, unemployed married women, consumers with very low or high level of education and high income, consumers older than 40's, and consumers living in apartments showed lower levels of environmental conservation behavior. Third, consumers who were married, dissatisfied with their environmental living conditions, or irrational were more likely to buy pro-environmental products. Men, young, and rational consumers were more likely to buy used products. On the other hand, the level of environmental behavior did not influence the purchase of pro-environmental and used products. The high level of behavior for environmental conservation did not result the purchase of pro-environmental and used products.
This study analyzed purchasing characteristics of local agricultural products and processed products as well as evaluated operation programs for Changnyeon festival participants. The purchasing rates of local agricultural products and processed products at this festival were 63.6% and 49.1%, respectively, and the main purchased crops were onion (42.6%) and garlic (20.7%). Drinks (43.6%) were highly purchased processed products. The recognition (95.3%) and preferences (98.4%) for Changyeong local agricultural products were high at this festival. Subjects (72.5%) responded that public relations were effective for sale at this festival, and evaluation of the operation program for the festival was $3.51{\pm}0.74$ (total score 5 points). Satisfaction with the experience event (37.7%) and exhibition event (33.6%) were high at this festival program, whereas participants gave low rates for art exhibition and sale events of local agricultural products (16.2%), cooking education (14.7%), direct education program (12.9%), and games (12.1%). This festival was an effective means of public relations, although purchase effects were not significant. This result suggests that the festival is necessary for planning a program to increase purchasing.
The purpose of this study was to get some pieces of prior information to eventually develop high value-added fashion cultural products design using local cultural resources, to promote the cultural tourism festival. For this purpose, this study is carried out the investigation of cultural product stores and visitors' questionnaire survey. The subjects of this study were festivals which were selected as cultural tourism festival by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism from 2000 to 2008. Of them, six festivals were finally selected but food festival was excluded. The results of this study were as follows; First, the store survey was conduced to analyze the situation of the products of cultural tourism festival. The most frequent product was accessories. And a T-shirt was found to be sold every festival probably because it was the most popular item and basic item which people could buy without burden. While the most diverse kinds of products were found in the Andong, the Jinju and Gangjin were found not to develop various products. In the design motif used for cultural products, most products did not use festival or local image. The highest use of the festival and local image was found in Gangjin and Muju. The Andong and Chungju were found to sell very common products buying anywhere rather than products using local cultural resources or image. In the material of cultural products, most products use metal. And In the price of cultural products, 10,000-30,000 won was found highest. Second, the purchase conditions of cultural tourism festival visitors were examined. The visiting goal and companion of visitors was found to vary with the type of cultural tourism festival. The types of visitors were also found to have an effect on the choice of items in the purchase of cultural products sold in the festival. Only one third of respondents responded buying one and more cultural products. The purchase rate was found high in the festival where cultural product items were various and there were many products symbolizing festival or region. The most purchased item was a mobile phone hanger and the amount of purchasing cultural products was 10,000-30,000 won. The reason not to purchase cultural products was dissatisfaction with utility, originality, possibility of a present, symbolism, and price. The most important attribute in the purchase of cultural products was design, followed by symbolism, price, originality, and innovation. The highly preferred product group included clothing, miscellaneous goods, and accessories. Specifically, T-shirt was found highest. Based on these research results, it was found that the design strategy for the cultural products development should consider both regional and festival images. The items and designs of the cultural products should reflect visitors' characteristics and the price zone should be varied.
