  • Decision effectiveness depends on type of knowledge within team members generated by decision making process. Thus, organization in accordance with teams' experience and capability ultimately achieve their desired outcome. However, previous research has not addressed a mediating role between different knowledge type in decision making and product competitive advantages(pioneering advantage and product quality superiority). Based on the knowledge-based view, we model how different knowledge characteristics in decision making affect to acquire each of knowledge in decision making effectively and then to apply acquired knowledge in decision making. Anchored in a source-position-performance (SPP) framework (Day and Wensley's, 1988), we shed light on the effects of three knowledge characteristics dimensions in decision making process on knowledge management competences in decision making for a new product project. We also examine the relationship between two dimensions of NPD knowledge management competences, and product competitive advantages which consist of market pioneering advantage and product quality superiority. To test the relationships, the empirical analyses are conducted using a sample of team managers who participated in NPD projects. This study suggest that managers should increase their acquirability and applicability of knowledge by integrating complexity of diverse and new knowledge, developing codifiability of well-documented knowledge, and creating the sharing common knowledge among NPD team members. Thus, they are able to outrun major competitors in terms of pioneering advantage and product quality superiority perspective.

  • This paper aims to apply our research and theorization on arts entrepreneurship to entrepreneurs active in the arts and cultural sector. Our goal is to develop proposals for practical actions that can support both arts entrepreneurs and supportive arts advocates. Using Action Research methodology, we hosted and facilitated two workshops with selected groups of arts entrepreneurs. Prior to the workshops we designed a questionnaire, based on the competency theory, to assess the qualities and characteristics of the participants. During the workshops we conducted surveys, interviews, and made observations in order to further understand the knowledge, experiences, motivations, capabilities, and attitudes necessary to successful arts entrepreneurship. We also conducted in-depth follow-up interviews with participants as a cross-check. We found that most of the participating arts entrepreneurs had a low understanding of the technology required for effective arts entrepreneurship, which has resulted in insufficient managerial support for artistic innovation. In addition, we found that participants lacked the skills and clear vision to construct a viable economic engine for their organization. Nevertheless, in light of the considerable strengths and high levels of enthusiasm and commitment participants evinced, we believe that their deficits can be corrected with education and training. Thus, we conclude by discussing the path forward and outlining a proposal to develop an innovative educational program on the daily operations of arts management that emphasizes applied technology and creating financial sustainability.

The statistical results show that founder entrepreneurial competencies, such as risk-taking, tend to be associated with positive outcomes financially as well as non-financially, which suggests that the existing propositions of previous research on the relationship between risk-taking and firm performance can be applied to necessity entrepreneurship as well. Additionally, founder opportunity competencies and resilience increase the likelihood of better financial performance in necessity entrepreneurship compared to others, whereas their effect on non-financial performance is not statistically significant. This indicates that necessity entrepreneurs are likely to focus more on financial performance to survive than on non-financial performance, particularly concerning variables related to sustainability such as the environment and society. The findings of this study contribute to knowledge concerning the role of necessity entrepreneurs' competencies in the performance of their companies.

To this end, discussions on self-employment and the size of workers were reviewed, and the characteristics, determinants, and difficulties of self-employment youth were analyzed based on data from a survey of youth in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. The support plan proposed through the analysis should first strengthen the program so that the government, local governments, and schools can all gain experience in the practice of developing ideas, producing, and selling based on aptitude and competency to solve youth employment problems. Next, compared to support for technology-based start-ups, there are no suitable programs in the fields of knowledge, manufacturing, and distribution, and there is almost no support for freelancers in which the majority of young people are engaged. Therefore, it is necessary to diversify support projects so that the diversity of young people can be expressed in self-employment. Finally, it was found that entrepreneurship had an important influence on self-employment. However, Korean teenagers do not know what entrepreneurship is and have no experience in education, so they should focus on cultivating entrepreneurship in the regular curriculum and establishing a cultural foundation to foster young leaders with creative ideas and execution.

  • As the systematic management of knowledge within an organization is recognized as a core factor for the continuous growth of an organization, organizations are increasing their interest in knowledge management. Knowledge management requires the active sharing of knowledge by insiders of the organization, but there are cases of failure due to the lack of participation of leaders and employees of the organization. The purpose of this study is to suggest a mechanism by which the authentic leadership of leaders in small and medium-sized enterprises(SME), which are relatively lacking in knowledge production capacity, leads to intention to share knowledge of employees. In addition, the study confirms that reciprocal feedback and task interdependence moderate the relationship between antecedent factors and intention to share knowledge. In this study, a research model was derived based on precedent research, and 272 samples were obtained by conducting a questionnaire survey on employees of SME that introduced a knowledge management policy. And, the study verified the hypothesis by applying structural equation modeling based on AMOS 22.0. The results of the study proved that authentic leadership has a positive effect on the intention to share knowledge through organization identification and organization commitment, and confirmed that reciprocal feedback and work interdependence moderate the relationship between knowledge sharing intentions and antecedent factors. This study suggests the mechanism by which the authentic behavior of the leaders of SMEs affects the knowledge sharing behavior of employees, and suggests that work cooperation strengthens the influence of the mechanism.
