  • In the recent industry, unmanned systems are expected to continue to spread throughout the economy. Especially in case of cosmetics, Users do not buy it right away. They look around, test it thoroughly, check the reviews, and decide on the purchase. Therefore, unmanned system using kiosk is more popular than face - to - face service of clerks. In this study, the persona analysis was completed based on the results obtained from the questionnaires and in - depth interviews. After sorting out the needs of the users, we applied them to the kiosk UI design of "Lalavela". The purpose of this study is to propose a kiosk UI design that helps many users who want to know information about the product though they are reluctant to ask directly to the clerk.

  • In general, existed kiosk using touch-screen based kiosk system has been used by only single user, so that multiple users to access this kiosk need to provide a lot of waiting time and maintenance costs. To solve this problem, the framework design based on Bluetooth profile for kiosk servers is presented. The proposed kiosk system can be more efficiently used in theater, train station, bank, government, and public offices by using Bluetooth module and AP in mobile system such as smart phone.

  • The post-corona era is having a major impact on university campus life, and campus cultural life has undergone drastic changes. In the process of adapting to this change. The existing face-to-face learning method is converted to non-face-to-face learning, and kiosks representing campus self-service are increasingly used. Subsequently, in order to match the characteristics of public places such as university campuses and provide better self-service, there are no related studies considering UI design elements of kiosks and characteristics of kiosks. This study conducted a survey on Chinese university students considering the characteristics and usability of university campus kiosks through user interface design elements in terms of design by considering previous studies. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between color, icon, typography, which are elements of kiosk interface design, and convenience, reliability, and usability, which are characteristics of a kiosk. In this study, the design elements and characteristics of the unmanned self-service system kiosk UI used by students at four universities in Korea and China were set as the scope of the study, and related documents were organized and surveyed in Korea and China. Case analysis and comparison method Through the kiosk usage characteristics of 4 universities were derived. The usability evaluation criteria use the five evaluation criteria suggested by the authority JacobNidsn. The survey and analysis of this study were conducted for students who had experience using kiosks at two universities in China, and kiosk UI design elements were organized through survey and analysis of a total of 200 people.

A Study on the User Analysis and Design Improvement Direction of Kiosks (국내 키오스크의 사용자 분석과 디자인 개선 방향에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to study the direction of improving kiosk design for convenient use by all users by increasing the usability of kiosks based on universal design principles. The direction of design improvement was studied by deriving essential improvements through additional surveys verifying the results of age-specific surveys and analysis related to the use of kiosks. The results of the study are as follows. High contrast between kiosk screen background and design elements, yellow color, and outline design elements increase readability. Then, reduce and enlarge the font based on 10pt. In addition, in consideration of wheelchair passengers, the area where the lower part cannot be designed and the minimum height of adjusting the height of the kiosk were derived. In the future, kiosk design requires a design and system that can diversify the functions of kiosks according to individual characteristics, and design should be focused on the application of universal design. Since this study has limited research subjects, further studies on various samples are required, and verification studies related to color and readability will also be conducted.

  • Kiosk is an unmanned information system arranged in public places or commercial spaces so that a user may utilize information conveniently. Unlike a personal computer, it targets varied users' brackets, so we have to consider a user's characteristic in designing Kiosk Interface. However, in reality, the Kiosks of public places like subway stations are of Interface Design without considering users and become almost useless with serviceability falling. In this study, we attempt to point out such problems and suggest the concept as to the Interface Design in the public places for a more positive promotion method. For this purpose, we are about to look into the concept of Tangible Interaction and Interspace and the recreation experienced in the process of interaction between a human and a computer and study the sportive Kiosk Interface Design in the Interspace using the principle of the Tangible Interaction. For the conceptual Model in this study, we referred to ARTCOM(ART+COM) Project.

  • As the cconvenience economy of food culture becomes more widespread and the consumption trends for easy and convenient meals grew, every food company is making their various efforts to provide better service. Along with this change, various methods have been allowed for quick and easy ordering. Especially, the introduction of kiosk systems with various merits such as reduction of queues for cashes, saving labor costs, and smoothness of business processes have been actively growing recently. If kiosk system provides not only order but also systematic contents and interface design considering differentiated identity from other companies, brand image enhancement and customer service strategy would be available as well. A kiosk GUI design for effective interactions that provides more usability and satisfaction to users by analyzing the structure and contents of kiosks in fast food stores and GUI designs and investigating usage patterns and design preferences of kiosks through user surveys.

  • The purpose of this study is to increase the experience of using kiosks for elderly in the non-face-to-face age. Through prior research and literature research, feature of kiosks and characteristic of elderly user were identified, and improvement were suggested through Ethnography and in-depth interviews. The research method was conducted for 13 days from April 4 to 16, 2021 for 11 senior citizens in their 60s or older living in Incheon. A total of 11 people were interviewed by adding 3 people who had experience in using kiosks. As a result of the experiment, interfaces and psychological factors were derived with paint points in the process of use of the elderly, and the five improvement plan was proposed by combining them. This study is expected to serve as a source for research on the experience of elderly kiosk users or kiosk interface design.

  • RFID and Kiosk has been acquiring the essential position not only for providing simple information but also as the tool for establishing Ubiquitous based society. Especially it can be said that the time for developing various Kiosks as important methods to conducting marketing and service through the differentiation and easiness on dealing information has come. Considering the present requirement, 'U-Commerce System' has been designed and developed. In the system, the RFID reader installed in 'U-Shop Kiosk System' recognizes the RFID tag on situated the specific products and detail product information and related multimedia advertisement are provided. Moreover, when the customers have the needs to purchase concerned products on the spot, they can pay and order by using credit cards. By employing the system, the amount of stock and delivery condition can be monitored in real time and the gathered information in DB can be used for dealing with stock related matters. In addition, a system can be developed to monitor and manage the remote shops in real time base. Furthermore, to overcome the limit of simple unmanned ubiquitous style Kiosk, the possibility of developing an expansion model of ubiquitous style CRM Kiosk has been suggested.

The Effect of Kiosk Quality Attributes of Hotel on Customer Satisfaction and Relationship Continuity Intention (호텔 키오스크 품질 속성이 고객만족과 관계지속의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aims to propose a reasonable and effective kiosk operation plan for hotels planning to introduce kiosks by verifying how the quality attributes of hotel kiosks, which have recently been rapidly increasing starting with mid-priced hotels, affect customer satisfaction and relationship continuity intention. An online survey was conducted for customers using hotel kiosks. 300 copies were collected, 61 insincere responses were removed, and 239 copies were verified. As a result of the analysis, first, hotel kiosk quality attributes, display color, device design, internal UI, amount of information, display brightness and response speed were found to have a significant impact on customer satisfaction and were partially adopted. Second, in terms of relationship continuity intention, the display color, internal UI, amount of information, and response speed were found to be significant and were partially adopted. Third, customer satisfaction showed significant results in relationship continuity intention. These research results showed partial differences from previous studies on general kiosk users and restaurant kiosk users, and based on these results, academic and practical implications were derived.

Interface Design for Service Improvement of Unmanned Ordering Device to the Digital Underprivileged (디지털 소외계층의 무인주문기기 서비스 향상을 위한 인터페이스 설계)

  • This paper proposes an improvement system for the marginalized digital underprivileged of these services due to the lack of intuition and usability for the recently increasing number of unmanned ordering devices' interfaces and device environments. The problem with kiosk service is that it lacks intuition among design principles and cannot be used by wheelchair passengers in environments that meet general standing standards. To solve this problem, we propose a service that can use kiosk-like environments on mobile devices by photographing QR codes with mobile devices. As a result of the experiment, people in their 20s did not experience difficulties in using the existing kiosk model, but in the case of the elderly, it was difficult to use the kiosk, so they asked for help. The improved kiosk model was carried out in their 20s without difficulty, and the results showed that it was carried out without difficulty even in the case of the elderly.
