  • We study lightlike submanifolds M of a semi-Riemannian manifold $\bar{M}$ with a semi-symmetric non-metric connection subject to the conditions; (a) the characteristic vector field of $\bar{M}$ is tangent to M, (b) the screen distribution on M is totally umbilical in M and (c) the co-screen distribution on M is conformal Killing.

  • A curve ${\gamma}$ immersed in the three-dimensional sphere ${\mathbb{S}}^3$ is said to be a slant helix if there exists a Killing vector field V(s) with constant length along ${\gamma}$ and such that the angle between V and the principal normal is constant along ${\gamma}$. In this paper we characterize slant helices in ${\mathbb{S}}^3$ by means of a differential equation in the curvature ${\kappa}$ and the torsion ${\tau}$ of the curve. We define a helix surface in ${\mathbb{S}}^3$ and give a method to construct any helix surface. This method is based on the Kitagawa representation of flat surfaces in ${\mathbb{S}}^3$. Finally, we obtain a geometric approach to the problem of solving natural equations for slant helices in the three-dimensional sphere. We prove that the slant helices in ${\mathbb{S}}^3$ are exactly the geodesics of helix surfaces.

  • We discuss transverse harmonic fields on compact foliated Riemannian manifolds, and give a necessary and sufficient condition for a transverse field to be a transverse harmonic one and the non-existence of transverse harmonic fields. 1. On a foliated Riemannian manifold, geometric transverse fields, that is, transverse Killing, affine, projective, conformal fields were discussed by Kamber and Tondeur([3]), Molino ([5], [6]), Pak and Yorozu ([7]) and others. If the foliation is one by points, then transverse fields are usual fields on Riemannian manifolds. Thus it is natural to extend well known results concerning those fields on Riemannian manifolds to foliated cases. On the other hand, the following theorem is well known ([1], [10]): If the Ricci operator in a compact Riemannian manifold M is non-negative everywhere, then a harmonic vector field in M has a vanishing covariant derivative. If the Ricci operator in M is positive-definite, then a harmonic vector field other than zero does not exist in M.

  • In this paper, we study some geometric structures of a weakly cyclic Z-symmetric manifold (briefly, $[W CZS]_n$). More precisely, we prove that a conformally flat $[W CZS]_n$ satisfying certain conditions is special conformally flat and hence the manifold can be isometrically immersed in an Euclidean manifold $E^n+1$ as a hypersurface if the manifold is simply connected. Also we show that there exists a $[W CZS]_4$ with one parameter family of its associated 1-forms.

  • Magnetic curves are the trajectories of charged particals which are influenced by magnetic fields and they satisfy the Lorentz equation. It is important to find relationships between magnetic curves and other special curves. This paper is a study of magnetic curves and this kind of relationships. We give the relationship between β-magnetic curves and Mannheim, Bertrand, involute-evolute curves and we give some geometric properties about them. Then, we study this subject for γ-magnetic curves. Finally, we give an evaluation of what we did.

  • Protocol was established for production of virus free healthy seeds using meristem ($0.3-0.5\;\cal{mm}$ in size) culture and field management under net house condition in tomato. The isolated meristem was found well established in MS liquid medium containing $0.1\;\cal{mg}\;1^{-1}\;of\;GA_3$. For shoot and root development either from primary meristem or from nodal segment of meristem derived plants, semisolid MS medium having $0.5\;\cal{mg}\;1^{-1}$ of IBA was found most effective. The elimination of the studied viruses (ToMV, CMV, ToLCV) in meristem-derived plants was confirmed by DAS-ELISA test. For field management of the virus eradicated meristem-derived plants, use of net house was found very effective measures to check viral vector visit and eventually infection. The meristem-derived plants were vigor and high yielder than the native seed derived plants and produced healthy seeds. Due to stop vector visit, no viral symptoms were observed in both $R_1\;and\;R_2$ plants cultivated in net house condition. Starting of viral infestation was observed in $R_2$ generation when they were planted in open house condition without control of vector visit. Therefore, for management of viral diseases, use of virus free meristem derived plantlets and their subsequent cultivation in soil under net house condition without using any vector killing insecticide can be recommended for producing healthy seeds in tomato. The developed protocol for environmentally healthy tomato seed production in Bangladesh may be used in the countries having similar tropical like environment conducive for viral vector visit.

  • The aim of the present work is to study the properties of three-dimensional Lorentzian para-Kenmotsu manifolds equipped with a Yamabe soliton. It is proved that every three-dimensional Lorentzian para-Kenmotsu manifold is Ricci semi-symmetric if and only if it is Einstein. Also, if the metric of a three-dimensional semi-symmetric Lorentzian para-Kenmotsu manifold is a Yamabe soliton, then the soliton is shrinking and the flow vector field is Killing. We also study the properties of three-dimensional Ricci symmetric and 𝜂-parallel Lorentzian para-Kenmotsu manifolds with Yamabe solitons. Finally, we give a non-trivial example of three-dimensional Lorentzian para-Kenmotsu manifold.

  • It is given in the Lecture Note [1] of Berger, Gauduchon and Mazet that, if ${\pi}$n: (${\tilde{M}}$, ${\tilde{g}}$)${\rightarrow}$(${\tilde{M}}$, ${\tilde{g}}$) is a Riemannian submersion with totally geodesic fibers, ${\Delta}$ and ${\tilde{\Delta}}$ are Laplace operators on (${\tilde{M}}$, ${\tilde{g}}$) and (M, g) respectively and f is an eigenfunction of ${\Delta}$, then its lift $f^L$ is also an eigenfunction of ${\tilde{\Delta}}$ with the common eigenvalue. But such a simple relation does not hold for an eigenform of the Laplace-Beltrami operator ${\Delta}=d{\delta}+{\delta}d$. If ${\omega}$ is an eigenform of ${\Delta}$ and ${\omega}^L$ is the horizontal lift of ${\omega}$, ${\omega}^L$ is not in genera an eigenform of the Laplace-Beltrami operator ${\tilde{\Delta}}$ of (${\tilde{M}}$, ${\tilde{g}}$). The present author has obtained a set of formulas which gives the relation between ${\tilde{\Delta}}{\omega}^L$ and ${\Delta}{\omega}$ in another paper [7]. In the present paper a Sasakian submersion is treated. A Sasakian manifold (${\tilde{M}}$, ${\tilde{g}}$, ${\tilde{\xi}}$) considered in this paper is such a one which admits a Riemannian submersion where the base manifold is a Kaehler manifold (M, g, J) and the fibers are geodesics generated by the unit Killing vector field ${\tilde{\xi}}$. Then the submersion is called a Sasakian submersion. If ${\omega}$ is a eigenform of ${\Delta}$ on (M, g, J) and its lift ${\omega}^L$ is an eigenform of ${\tilde{\Delta}}$ on (${\tilde{M}}$, ${\tilde{g}}$, ${\tilde{\xi}}$), then ${\omega}$ is called an eigenform of the first kind. We define a relative eigenform of ${\tilde{\Delta}}$. If the lift ${\omega}^L$ of an eigenform ${\omega}$ of ${\Delta}$ is a relative eigenform of ${\tilde{\Delta}}$ we call ${\omega}$ an eigenform of the second kind. Such objects are studied.
