The purpose of the present study was to examine the factors on child care teachers' burnout. For this purpose, degrees of child care teachers' overall burnout, job satisfaction, and job environments were examined. Also, child care teachers' burnout was examined depending on their personal factors, job satisfaction, and job environment. Finally, the relative power of the three factors were examined. A survey was administered to 184 child care teachers in Seoul and Kyonggi areas to investigate their degrees of burnout, job satisfaction, and job environment. Maslach Burnout Inventory(Maslach and Jackson, 1986) and questionnaires on job satisfaction and job environmen were used. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and multiple regression using SPSS+12 version. Major findings are as follows: Child care teacher's overall degrees of burnout is not so high and different on their personal factors such as age, educational level, and career, and job satisfaction and job environment. The most powerful factor on their burnout was their demographic factors.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate job stress, coping type, and job satisfaction in firefighters. Methods: It was a descriptive study, and 114 subjects were recruited during July to August, 2014. The data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA (Sheffe's test), and Pearson's correlation coefficient using SPSS/WIN 22.0. Results: The job stress level of subjects was 47.45, coping type was 2.38 and the level of subjects' job satisfaction was 2.97. The job satisfaction was very closely negatively correlated with the job stress (r=-.66, p<.001). Conclusion: These results may contribute to better understanding of stress degree, coping type, and job satisfaction in firefighters. Further follow-up study on firefighters is necessary to relieve their job stress and increase active coping type.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the degree of job stress and job satisfaction and the relationship between job stress and job satisfaction of Medical Aid Client Managers. Method: Data were collected from 185 Medical Aid Client Managers in 234 areas between April 2-15, 2007. Collected data was analyzed for the frequency, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient etc. Results: The average score of job stress was 2.6. Job instability was highest as 2.9 and job autonomy was lowest as 2.2. in eight items. When the job stress of Medical Aid Client Managers was converted to 100 point, the average was 51.7 and ranked in upper 50% of Korean woman workers' job stress. Among the eight items, because the relationship satisfaction and the instability of duty regime ranked in upper 25% of Korean woman workers' job stress, those items were identified to have high stress. The average score of job satisfaction was 2.3 out 4.0 which could be interpreted as unsatisfactory. The correlation between the job stress and the job satisfaction demonstrated significant difference. Decrease of the job satisfaction was associated with increase of the job stress. In regard to the eight items, the inverse correlation was demonstrated to be significant in organization, inappropriate compensation, and workplace culture. Conclusion: Medical Aid Client Managers have high stress in carrying out their duties. They have experienced very severe instability in their duty regime. Also, they have felt alienated from their organization and experienced unfair rewards. They had low duty satisfaction but got a heavy workload and experienced overtime work. To relieve job overburden of Medical Aid Client Managers. it was necessary to improve business system and also was necessary to relieve a regional disparity of business charge.
This study was conducted to investigate the effects of job embeddedness on job satisfaction, organizational commitment and turnover intention in the food and beverage division of hotels. In addition, this study sought to identify the effects of job satisfaction and organizational commitment on turnover intention. Based on the literature reviews, five hypotheses were tested: job embeddedness was positively related to job satisfaction and organizational commitment and negatively related to turnover intention and job satisfaction and organizational commitment were negatively related to turnover intention. The subjects evaluated in this study were employees of the food and beverage division of five or four stars hotels in Seoul. Five hundred questionnaires were distributed and 293 were collected from July 1, 2009 to August 31, 2009, using convenience sampling method. After removing useless questionnaires, a total of 250 questionnaires (five-stars hotel 177, four-stars hotel 73) were analyzed using the factor analysis, a reliability test, and structural equation modeling analysis. The results revealed that job embeddedness was positively related to job satisfaction (t=8.762), organizational commitment (t=5.364) and negatively related to turnover intention (t=-3.500). Therefore, hypothesis I, II and III were accepted. However, job satisfaction (t=-.933) and organizational commitment (t=-1.923) were not negatively related to turnover intention. Therefore, hypothesis IV and V were rejected.
This study aims to understand potential gender differences in the association between job characteristics and job satisfaction among older workers. The data are from 506 males and 202 females older than 55 from the first wave of the Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing(KLoSA). Analyses focused on examining gender differences in the influences of subjective evaluation of work characteristics measured with education and skill fits of the work, work demands, customary early retirement, as well as more objective job conditions assessed with insurances by the employer, work hours, and salary on job satisfaction. Regression analyses revealed that female workers showed higher job satisfaction while job characteristics worked differently between genders to affect job satisfaction. For males, fitting the job with education and job demands were determining factors of job satisfaction, while the job with skills and work hours appeared to be significant factors for females. Results suggest that opportunities to utilize older workers' human capital and flexible working hours, especially for females workers would be helpful in promoting older adults' employment and satisfaction about their work.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate factors associated with perceived job satisfaction of TB control nurses in Korea. Methods: This study employed a descriptive survey research design using data for 189 TB control nurses. Variables included in this study were demographic, social, and work-related characteristics (including job stress), and job satisfaction. ANOVA, t-test,and multiple regression analyses were performed using SPSS/WIN 19.0 program. Results: The mean value of perceived job satisfaction was lower in the subjects ($2.9{\pm}0.41$) than in general nurses working in other departments. In multiple regression analysis, factors associated with TB control nurses' job satisfaction were job stress (${\beta}$=-.281, p<.001), marital status (${\beta}$=-.229, p<.001), and the number of TB control nurses employed (${\beta}$=.200, p<.001). Conclusion: The results of this study showed that job satisfaction was associated more significantly with job-related characteristics than with non-job-related variables in workplace. Along with increased TB control nurse staffing, efforts should be made to reduce negative work-place issues such as job stress and inappropriate pay to improve the subject's job satisfaction.
Purpose: This study was to investigate the relationship between social support, emotional exhaustion and job stress job satisfaction and intention to leave of male nurses. Methods: The subjects of this study were 90 male nurses working in hospitals, and data analysis was performed multiple regression analysis to examine factors affecting job satisfaction and intention to leave. Results: The current job satisfaction rate of male nurses was 52.8%, and the rate of intention to leave within one year was 38.2%. Job satisfaction was lower for male nurses as job stress was higher(${\beta}=-.44$), p<.001), and the higher the supervisory support in social support, the higher the job satisfaction(${\beta}=.23$), p=.011). The higher the emotional exhaustion, the higher the intention to leave(${\beta}=.35$, p<.001). Conclusion: In order to maintain male nurses as important nursing staff in hospitals, various policy are needed to reduce the job stress of male nurses and to increase job satisfaction by lowering job stress and to reduce the intention to leave by reducing emotional exhaustion.

SME sector's success also depends on its employees' job satisfaction as satisfied employees are likely to be more productive at the workplace and positively enhance SME business performance. Small and medium firms are the heart of the economy, and employees are the main and valuable asset for the SME firms. If SME business managers can increase employee satisfaction, then SMEs' performance will also increase in the future. Hence, the current study aims to determine the job satisfaction of SME employees by analyzing the impact of job training (JT) and promotion (PRO) opportunities on employee job satisfaction. Purposive sampling is applied in the study, and 202 SME employees have participated as sample respondents. The final sample size is n = 202. SPSS 26.0 version is used to analyze the hypotheses. The study findings show that both job training (JT) and promotion (PRO) have a positive effect on SME employee job satisfaction. It does indicate that SME managers need to provide necessary training programs and timely promotion to their current working employees to keep them satisfied with their job. Promotion and effective job training will certainly enhance employees' job satisfaction. The study has also offered a few strategic implications for SME business managers.
This study was designed firstly to measure the job satisfaction levels of F&B (Food & Beverage) personnel in hotels by using JDI (Job Descriptive Index) and secondly to identify the effects of job satisfaction on intention to quit by job type. Of 498 respondents, there were 245 employees in the back of the house (eBOH) and 253 in the front of the house (eFOH). From an analysis on job satisfaction, total JDI, score was 136.57${\pm}$11.48 out of a maximum 210 and the payroll (14.79 out of 21, 70.4%) facet of JDI was the highest job satisfaction followed by co-workers (36.07 out of 54, 66.8%), supervision (35.37 out of 54, 65.5%), promotion (17.45 out of 27, 64.6%) and work itself (32.86 out of 54, 60.8%). In comparison between the job satisfaction of eBOH and eFOH, eFOH perceived significantly higher than eBOH for job itself (p<.001) and total job satisfaction (p<.01). No facets of JDI were significant by job level, but work itself (p<.05), payroll (p<.05), supervision (p<.01) and promotion (p<.05) were significant by work section in eFOH,. In addition, no facets except work itself were significant by either job level or work section in eFOH. Finally, among job satisfaction facets, payroll had a negative effect on intention to quit whereas supervision had a positive effect on it in eBOH. On the other, work itself affected intention to quit positively but promotion affected it negatively. The findings confirmed the necessity for internal marketing focusing on the lower level of job satisfaction facets and indicated that such a focus would improve organizational effectiveness.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to define the relationships between job stress, professional self-concept, and job satisfaction among nurses in rehabilitation units and to identify factors that influence job satisfaction. Methods: This study surveyed 240 nurses working at the rehabilitation units of 10 hospitals located in G City. To collect the data, nurses' job stress, the professional self-concept of nurses instrument (PSCNI), and the Korean-Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (K-MSQ) were used. The data were analyzed through t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression using the SPSS/WIN 18.0 program. Results: The scores for job stress, professional self-concept, and job satisfaction were $3.34{\pm}0.61$, $72.36{\pm}8.64$ and $3.17{\pm}0.39$, respectively. Job satisfaction and job stress showed a low-level negative correlation with statistical significance (r=-.13, p=.042), whereas a medium-level positive correlation was found between job satisfaction and professional self-concept (r=.46, p<.001). Job stress, professional self-concept, total career length and size of working hospital explained approximately 25.8% of job satisfaction (F=17.52, p<.001). Conclusion: Considering the results in this study, it is necessary to develop a practical educational program to establish positive professional self-concept for nurses in rehabilitation units. Such efforts must be supported by clinical nursing administrations through policies aimed at reducing job stress and increasing job satisfaction.
