  • The problem of decision making under imprecise environments are widely spread in real life decision situations. We present a method of object recognition from imprecise multi observer data, which extends the work of Roy and Maji [J Compu. Appl. Math. 203(2007) 412-418] to generalized intuitionistic fuzzy soft set theory. The method involves the construction of a comparison table from a generalized intuitionistic fuzzy soft set in a parametric sense for decision making.

  • In this paper, we introduce two general iterative algorithms (one implicit algorithm and one explicit algorithm) for finding a common element of the solution set of the variational inequality problems for a continuous monotone mapping, the zero point set of a set-valued maximal monotone operator, and the fixed point set of a continuous pseudocontractive mapping in a Hilbert space. Then we establish strong convergence of the proposed iterative algorithms to a common point of three sets, which is a solution of a certain variational inequality. Further, we find the minimum-norm element in common set of three sets.

  • Human reliability analysis (HRA) is a proactive approach to model and evaluate human systematic errors, and has been extensively applied in various complicated systems. Dependence assessment among human errors plays a key role in the HRA, which relies heavily on the knowledge and experience of experts in real-world cases. Moreover, there are ofthen different types of uncertainty when experts use linguistic labels to evaluate the dependencies between human failure events. In this context, this paper aims to develop a new method based on linguistic hesitant fuzzy sets and the technique for human error rate prediction (THERP) technique to manage the dependence in HRA. This method handles the linguistic assessments given by experts according to the linguistic hesitant fuzzy sets, determines the weights of influential factors by an extended best-worst method, and confirms the degree of dependence between successive actions based on the THERP method. Finally, the effectiveness and practicality of the presented linguistic hesitant fuzzy THERP method are demonstrated through an empirical healthcare dependence analysis.

  • It is known that the maximal invariant set of a continuous iterative dynamical system in a compact Hausdorff space is equal to the intersection of its forward image sets, which we will call the first minimal image set. In this article, we investigate the corresponding relation for a class of discontinuous self maps that are on the verge of continuity, or topologically almost continuous endomorphisms. We prove that the iterative dynamics of a topologically almost continuous endomorphisms yields a chain of minimal image sets that attains a unique transfinite length, which we call the maximal invariance order, as it stabilizes itself at the maximal invariant set. We prove the converse, too. Given ordinal number ξ, there exists a topologically almost continuous endomorphism f on a compact Hausdorff space X with the maximal invariance order ξ. We also discuss some further results regarding the maximal invariance order as more layers of topological restrictions are added.

  • The construction environment is dynamic in nature and is characterized by various degrees of uncertainties. The uncertainties such as lack of coordination, non availability of resources, condition of temporary structures and varying weather conditions have a significant impact on estimating the duration of activities. These are subjective, vague and imprecisely defined and are expressed in subjective measures rather than mathematical terms. Conventionally, various quantitative techniques such as CPM and PERT have emerged in construction industry. These techniques cannot solve the above problems and rely on human experts which may not always be possible. In such situations Artificial Intelligence tools such as fuzzy sets and neural networks handle such variables and provide global strategies. The present paper evaluates the effect of qualitative factors to identify the activity duration using new intelligent approach. The results are compared with conventional methods for effective project management. A case study is considered to demonstrate the applicability of fuzzy logic for project scheduling.

  • Let G = (V, E) be a graph. A subset S of V is called a dominating set of G if every vertex not in S is adjacent to some vertex in S. The domination number γ(G) of G is the minimum cardinality taken over all dominating sets of G. A dominating set S is called a connected dominating set if the subgraph induced by S is connected. The minimum cardinality taken over all connected dominating sets of G is called the connected domination number of G, and is denoted by γc(G). In this paper, we investigate the Nordhaus-Gaddum type results for the connected domination number and its derived graphs like line graph, subdivision graph, power graph, block graph and total graph, and characterize the extremal graphs.

  • New forming technologies are being introduced to automotive manufacturing processes. Among them, a simultaneous forming is one of the innovative forming technologies to be able to reduce production time and cost. Several parts can be simultaneously manufactured by the process, while the conventional stamping demands the same number of die sets with the number of parts. In this study, the automotive rear floor side member was manufactured by the simultaneous forming. The position and the size of initial blank were determined by forming analyses and try-outs, and the blank movement during the forming was controlled by introducing the spotweld.

  • In this paper, we have use a fuzzy bitopological space (X, $\tau_1$, $\tau_2$) to create a family $\tau_{ij}^s$ which is a supra fuzzy topology on X. Also, we introduce and study the concepts of r-($\tau_i$, $\tau_j$)-generalized fuzzy regular closed, r-($\tau_i$, $\tau_j$)-generalized fuzzy strongly semi-closed and r-($\tau_i$, $\tau_j$)-generalized fuzzy regular strongly semi-closed sets in fuzzy bitopological space in the sense of $\check{S}$ostak. Also, these classes of fuzzy subsets are applied for constructing several type of fuzzy closed mapping and some type of fuzzy separation axioms called fuzzy binormal, fuzzy mildly binormal and fuzzy almost pairwise normal.

  • Let $M^{2n+1}$, $n{\geq}1$, be a smooth manifold with a pseudoconvex integrable CR structure of hypersurface type. We consider a sequence of CR invariant subsets $M={\mathcal{S}}_0{\supset}{\mathcal{S}}_1{\supset}{\cdots}{\supset}{\mathcal{S}}_n$, where $S_q$ is the set of points where the Levi-form has nullity ${\geq}q$. We prove that ${\mathcal{S}}{_q}^{\prime}s$ are locally given as common zero sets of the coefficients $A_j$, $j=0,1,{\ldots},q-1$, of the characteristic polynomial of the Levi-form. Some sufficient conditions for local existence of complex submanifolds are presented in terms of the coefficients $A_j$.

  • KT-2 poloidal-field (PF) system is designed to cope the up-down symmetric double-null (DN) and asymmetric single-null (SN) discharges with typical plasma parameters, in which three sets of "design-basis" scenarios - the ohmic heating (OH), the 5MW and the high bootstrap (HIBS) baseline modes - are applied. The power and energy demand for each cases are also deduced. The peak power and the maximum energy requirements for the KT-2 magnet system, incorporating the PF and the toroidal-field (TF) coils, are proven to be 123MW and 1601MJ, respectively when it is driven in DN configuration. The KT-2 PF system is capable of achieving the machine mission of creating a 500kA heated plasma with a current flattop of $\geq$20 seconds.
