Si 종형 Hall 소자의 자기감도 개선 (Magnetic Sensitivity Improvement of Silicon Vertical Hall Device)

  • The silicon vertical hall devices are fabricated using a modified bipolar process. It consists of the thin p-layer at Si-$SiO_2$, interface and n-epi layer without $n^+$buried layer to improve the sensitivity and influence of interface effects. Experimental samples are a sensor type I with and type H without p+isolation dam adjacent to the center current electrode. The experimental results for both type show a more high current-related sensitivity than the former's vertical hall devices. The sensitivity of type H and type I are about 150 V/AT and 340 V/AT, respectively. This sensor's behavior can be explained by the similar J-FET model.

Improved PCA method for sensor fault detection and isolation in a nuclear power plant

  • An improved principal component analysis (PCA) method is applied for sensor fault detection and isolation (FDI) in a nuclear power plant (NPP) in this paper. Data pre-processing and false alarm reducing methods are combined with general PCA method to improve the model performance in practice. In data pre-processing, singular points and random fluctuations in the original data are eliminated with various techniques respectively. In fault detecting, a statistics-based method is proposed to reduce the false alarms of $T^2$ and Q statistics. Finally, the effects of the proposed data pre-processing and false alarm reducing techniques are evaluated with sensor measurements from a real NPP. They are proved to be greatly beneficial to the improvement on the reliability and stability of PCA model. Meanwhile various sensor faults are imposed to normal measurements to test the FDI ability of the PCA model. Simulation results show that the proposed PCA model presents favorable performance on the FDI of sensors no matter with major or small failures.

현가 장치 개선을 위한 차량 동특성 해석에 관한 연구 (A study on the analysis of vehicle dynamic characteristics for the improvement of suspension system)

  • In this study, to improve the ride and handling characteristics of the vehicle whose hard points have been already fixed, a tuning method of load spring, damper and stabilizer bar is described. For the suspension system of vehicle, optimized design is necessary to satisfy the incompatible two dynamic characteristics which are the ride isolation property between unsprung mass and sprung mass to reduce the excitation from the road and the accurate correring response property to specific steering inputs. To accomplish above aims, we may approach by experimental method, but it requires to sacrifice much time and cost. This paper, therefore, provides a process of suspension development to improve the ride and handling properties by using computer simulation with saving time and cost, and as results, comparaes the dynamic characteristics of the tuned vehicle with the base vehicle not tuned.

Partial-isolation LDMOS의 항복전압과 온저항 분석 (Breakdown Voltage and On-resistance Analysis of Partial-isolation LDMOS)

  • 본 논문에서는 Partial isolation lateral double diffused metal oxide semiconductor(Pi-LDMOS)의 항복전압에 대해 시뮬레이션을 통해 분석하였다. 항복전압 변화는 Partial buried oxide(P-BOX)의 다양한 파라미터(길이, 두께, 위치)에 따라 조사되었고, 그 메커니즘에 대해 명기하였다. 또한 항복전압과 trade-off 관계에 있는 온저항의 변화를 P-BOX 파라미터 변화에 따라 분석하였고 Figure of merit(FOM)을 계산하여 비교하였다. 제안된 구조에서 Lbox=5㎛, tbox=2㎛, Lbc=2㎛일 경우 138V의 가장 높은 항복전압을 나타내었고, Lbox=5㎛, tbox=1.6㎛, Lbc=2㎛일 경우 가장 높은 FOM을 나타내었다. 이는 conventional LDMOS 대비 항복전압은 123%, FOM은 3.89배 향상된 수치이다. 따라서 Pi-LDMOS는 높은 항복전압과 FOM을 가져 Power IC의 안정적인 동작범위 향상에 기여할 수 있다.

도시철도 역사개선에 관한연구 (A study on the subway-station improvement of metropolitan subway)

  • Subway station is installed with equipment of deficient ventilation and air purification in need of routine activity for users because projectors didn't have recognition of the importance of prevention equipment on disasters in subway stations. So if the accident in Deagu is occurred again, we can't prevent it. And it is urgently necessary to improve antique subway station for the safety and service to citizens because users were increased far more. Improvement of subway station has to be modernized the backward and antique subway station and maintained and developed by the center of traffic to give the social contribution with management of social facilities. And subway station has to be made conveniently so that everyone may use the station with one-stop system including sales, business, service equipment. This study will show the improvement plan of problem in underground space and situation of metropolitan-train history to improve metropolitan-train station .we will study a traffic line and equipment relocation of underground space considering safety by choosing the improved station and problems of the underground station in seoul. And then we will study the improvement plan of air purification and sound isolation to upgrade service in citizens.

  • Ultra large scale integrated circuit(ULSI) & complementary metal oxide semiconductor(CMOS) circuits require gate electrode materials such as meta] silicides, titanium-silicide for gate oxides. Many previous authors have researched the improvements sub-micron gate oxide quality. However, little has been done on the electrical quality and reliability of ultra thin gates. In this research, we recommend novel shallow trench isolation structure and two step TiSi$_{2}$ formation for sub 0.1${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ gate oxide.

An 18-Pulse Full-Wave AC-DC Converter for Power Quality Improvement

  • In this paper, a novel delta/double-fork transformer based 18-pulse full-wave AC-DC converter is designed, modeled, simulated and developed to feed isolated DC varying loads. The proposed AC-DC converter is used for low voltage and large current DC loads in applications such as electrowinning, where isolation is required mainly for stepping down the supply voltage. The proposed converter improves power quality at AC mains and meets IEEE-519 standard requirements at varying loads.

  • This paper presents the improvement and application effect in fault restoration program based on distribution automation system(DAS) of KEPCO. When a fault occurs, fault restoration program can detect fault section based on FI information of DAS, and calculate the best restoration solution by comparing the load capacity of outage area and the spare load capacity of connected distribution lines, and propose switch operating procedure for fault section isolation and outage restoration. Fault restoration program was applied to real field and it was verified that this program is applicable to diverse field cases. By using this fault restoration program to the field human error can be reduced and fault procedure can be more reliable, accurate, and fast.

  • To improve the shock resistance of the microdrive under non-operating conditions, an isolator was attached to the contacting part of the microdrive. Through FE analysis, design parameters for satisfying the allowable acceleration level of the spindle motor bearing part were presented, which is a most possible critical part of the microdrive.

현가장치의 성능향상을 위한 지능형 제어로직에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Knowledge Based Control Algorithm for Performance Improvement of the Automotive Suspension System)

  • Automotive suspension system is a mechanism for isolation of the vibration coming from the road inputs. Recently, the electronically controlled suspension systems which may improve ride and handling performance have been developed. Here, the continuously controlled semi-active suspension system is focused. As a mechanism to control damping forces continuously, a solenoid valve is used. The modeling for the solenoid valve is introduced briefly, a vehicle dynamics modeling is constructed, and then combined system model is completed. To design the efficient control algorithm for the semiactive suspension system the knowledge based fuzzy logic is applied and the technique how to apply the sky-hook theory to the fuzzy logic is developed. Finally, to confirm the improvement of performance the computer simulation is carried out.
