  • Journal of the Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles Vol. 22, No. 1 (1998) p. 72∼79 The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of geometrical structure and fiber type on the water vapor transport properties of nonwoven batting materials. Two types of fiber were used such as polyester and wool. Correlation between physical properties of nonwovens and water vapor transport rate was analyzed by Pearson Correlation. Steady and dynamic state water vapor transport properties were measured by absorption, evaporation and cobaltots chloride method respectively. The results were as follows: 1) In geometrical structure, thickness of nonwovens was effected on absorption and evaporation rate and air permeability was more influencing factor on water vapor transport rate than porosity. There were no decreasing of water vapor transport rate in hydrophilic fiber at high relative humudity. 2) The hydrophilicity of fiber affected steady and dynamic state water vapor permeabilities and wool nonwoven showed higher water vapor transport rate than polyester at high relative humidity. 3) Thickness showed higher correlation coefficient with water vapor transport rate than other physical properties of nonwovens.

  • The study of the safety perceptions between two groups, trained and untrained student pilots were compared as pre-studies of that how the safety perceptions of the flight instructors affect that of the student pilots. As a results, the factors of the communication and the safety procedures shows higher values on the one-year trained group than the other because the trained students get used to the safety procedures which are necessary to the practical training. In reliability for the flight instructor, the factors of two groups show the high tendency without regard to groups. Despite of the lack of the specific research, the result implies that the student pilots are influenced by the safety perceptions of the flight instructors. In addition, the factors of the accident report were investigated as that the trained group has lower mean, however the factors of the receiving penalties of the trained group were higher than the other. These results imply that the trained group feels concern for the penalties and the punishments by reporting the accidents in spite of amounts of the training.

  • The threat of COVID-19 pandemic put many universities in Korea to develop and implement various types of untact online classes. Online education has been recognized as one of the effective educational methods because of its ubiquitous and flexible educational environments. However quick move to online education caused by the sudden attack of the COVID-19 led to many problems such as faculty's burden and stress from the planning and designing suitable for online classes, technology system problems for both students and faculty and students' complaints of the low quality of education. The primary purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of learner, contents, and instructor factors on college student satisfaction with untact online classes during the first attack of COVID-19 pandemic. The data were collected from 605 undergraduate students of S women's university based in Seoul, who took the untact online classes in the spring semester 2020. The results of empirical analysis reveal that only contents factor are likely to predict learner satisfaction. These findings provide insights that the effective planning and designing classes are key to enhancing learner satisfaction with online education. This study suggests that instructors need various contents developed and educational strategies for students.

  • Due to the rapid growth of domestic and overseas airline markets, the demand for airline pilots has also been growing fast. Meeting such a market needs, central government, Ministry of Land and Transportation has set up civil airline pilot training center at Ulgin airport to train and provide the market with commercial airline pilots. Not only central government but universities in Korea also have tried to train pilots by operating flight training academies. Even though there are more than a dozen of flight training centers including colleges and private academies, there have been less efforts to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the flight training school's curriculums compared to other scholar majors in a university. Therefore this paper tried to evaluate the educational effectiveness of the curriculums using the Kirk-Patrick measurement model, which has been regarded as one of the most popular and accurate measurement tool for an empirical research in social science. According to the empirical research, it was found out the inter-personal relationship between an instructor pilot and flight trainee was perceived as the most important factor to have an impact on learning abilities and student's behaviors.
