Extension and Appication of Total Least Squares Method for the Identification of Bilinear Systems

  • When the input-output record is available, the identification of a bilinear system is considered. It is assumed that the input is noise free and the output is contaminated by an additive noise. It is further assumed that the covariance matrix of the noise is known up to a factor of proportionality. The extended generalized total least squares (e-GTLS) method is proposed as one of the consistent estimators of the bilinear system parameters. Considering that the input is noise-free and that bilinear system equation is linear with respect to the system parameters, we extend the GTLS problem. The extended GTLS problem is reduced to an unconstrained minimization problem, and is solved by the Newton-Raphson method. We compare the GTLS method and the e-GTLS method in the point of the accuracy of the estimated system parameters.

  • This paper presents a simple current control strategy for matrix converters based on the extension of PWM method for inverters. A novel and efficient PWM algorithm is developed. The algorithm is verified through simulation and experiments employing a 2-kVA prototype. The results of simulation and experiment prove the instantaneous control capability of the output current with the sinusoidal input current.

  • This paper propose a fuzzy regression method using fuzzy neural networks when a membership value is attached to each input-output pair. First, an architecture o fuzzy neural networks with fuzzy weights and fuzzy biases is shown. Next, a cost function is defined using the fuzzy output from the fuzzy neural network and the corresponding target output with a membership value. A learning algorithm is derived from the cost function. The derived learning algorithm trains the fuzzy neural network so 솜 t the level set of the fuzzy output includes the target output. Last, the proposed method is applied to the quality evaluation problem of injection molding

  • In this paper, the input-output interconnection method of the multi-valued signal processing circuit using perfect Shuffle technique and Kronecker product is discussed. Using this method, the design method of circuit of the multi-valued Reed-Muller expansions(MRME) to be used the multi-valued signal processing on finite field GF(p**m) is presented. The proposed input-output interconnection method is shown that the matrix transform is efficient and that the module structure is easy. The circuit design of MRME on FG(p**m) is realized following as` 1) contructing the baisc gates on GF(3) by CMOS T gate, 2) designing the basic cells to be implemented the transform and inverse transform matrix of MRME using these basic gates, 3) interconnecting these cells by the input-output interconnecting method of the multivalued signal processing circuits. Also, the circuit design of the multi-valued signal processing function on GF(3\ulcorner similar to Winograd algorithm of 3x3 array of DFT (discrete fourier transform) is realized by interconnection of Perfect Shuffle technique and Kronecker product. The presented multi-valued signal processing circuits that are simple and regular for wire routing and posses the properties of concurrency and modularity are suitable for VLSI.

Construction of Highly Performance Switching Circuit (고효율 스위칭회로)

  • This paper presents a method of constructing the highly performance switching circuit(HPSC) over finite fields. The proposed method is as following. First of all, we extract the input/output relationship of linear characteristics for the given digital switching functions, Next, we convert the input/output relationship to Directed Cyclic Graph using basic gates adder and coefficient multiplier that are defined by mathematical properties in finite fields. Also, we propose the new factorization method for matrix characteristics equation that represent the relationship of the input/output characteristics. The proposed method have properties of generalization and regularity. Also, the proposed method is possible to any prime number multiplication expression.

Design and Evaluation of Data Input/output for Video Conference System (화상회의 시스템에서의 데이터 입출력 설계 및 평가)

  • In this paper, we propose the method in which multimedia data simultaneously transfers to the main memory and the multimedia processor from the network interface card to improve bottleneck of system bus through analysis for architecture of video conference system and input/output model. The proposed method can reduce the number of system bus accesses, bus cycles, data transmission time and compression ratio of video data in the video conference system. We compared the performance between the proposed method and the conventional methods in the multi-party video conference systems. The simulation results showed that the proposed method was reduced the transmission time of multimedia data than the conventional method.

  • This study shows the lasing characteristics of InGaAs/InGaAsP multiple-quantum-well waveguide-type depleted optical thyristor (DOT) using the vertical window. The measured switching voltage and current are 3.36 V and 10 ㎂, respectively. The lasing threshold current is 131 mA at 25 ℃. The output peak wavelength is 1570 nm at a bias current of 1.22 Ith and there is not input signal anymore in the output port. The vertical injection depleted optical thyristor - laser diode (VIDOT-LD) using the vertical-injection structure shows very good isolation between input and output signal.
