  • Objective : Kuesu point is a newly discovered point, it is located in 3-cun from the centre of sacrum laterally, paralleled to the 4th foramen on the sacrum. This controlled trial was to evaluate the superior effect of Kuesu point on back pain which radiated to lower extremities. Methods : Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) and Single Blind in patient was designed. Patients (n=31) were randomized to two groups, Kuesu-point acupuncture group (Group A, n=16) and non Kuesu point acupuncture group (Group B, n=15). Group A was acupunctured on B25 (大腸兪), B26 (關元兪) and B60 (崑崙) with Kuesu point. Group B was acupunctured on the same points without Kuesu point. The clinical subjects were female patients. Beside acupuncture, the other therapies were excluded. Clinical period was three weeks total. Each group was treated 4-5 times per week for 3 weeks. The outcome measurements were The Estimation Index of Backache (quality of life), Pain Rating Scale (pain intensity) and other physical examinations (ROM, SLR, etc.). Results : 31 patients (Group A: n=16, Group B: n=15) were Randomized, 6 of them dropped out. Eventually 25 patients (Group A: n=15, Group B: n=10) were included in the analysis. Group A acupunctured on Kuesu point scored more significant Estimation Index of Backache and lower PRS (Pain Rating Scale) than Group B acupunctured without Kuesu point (p=0.003/2). It turned out that the group acupunctured on Kuesu point show meaningful high improvement index. And other examination's results showed that the treatment effects of Group A are twice as better as Group B. Conclusion : These results suggest that Kuesu point acupuncture was more effective on lower back pain and improved the life quality of patients, being compared with non Kuesu point acupuncture.

  • The effect of the isocyanate index (NCO index) on the particle size and particle size distribution of a waterborne polyurethane dispersion (WPUD) with polycarbonate-diol was determined. The WPUDs were prepared using a conventional acetone process with polycarbonate-polyol (Mn = 2028), 4,4'-methylenebis(cyclohexyl isocyanate) (H12MDI), 2,2-bis(hydroxymethyl) propionic acid (DMPA), and dibutyltin dilaurate catalyst. At NCO index values below 1.5, the number average particle diameter of the WPUDs significantly increased with the NCO index, whereas the particle diameter slightly varied at higher NCO indexes. The dependency of the WPUD viscosity on the NCO index exhibited similar behavior to that of the particle size. The relative values of the full width at half maximum of the WPUD particle distribution curves at various NCO indexes were not influenced by the NCO index.

  • The T-ideal of F(X) generated by $x^{n}$ for all x $\in$ X, is generated also by the symmetric polynomials. For each symmetric poly-nomial, there corresponds one row of the incidence matrix. Finding the nilpotency of nil-algebra of nil-index n is equivalent to determining the smallest integer N such that the (n, N)-incidence matrix has rank equal to N!. In this work, we show that the (n, (equation omitted)$^{(1,....,n)}$-incidence matrix is center-symmetric.

  • Let N be a $II_1$ factor and G be a finite group acting outerly on N. Then the crossed product algebra $M = N \rtimes G$ is also a $II_1$ factor and $N' \cap M = CI$, i.e. N is irreducible in M. Moreover, N is regular in M, in other words, M is generated by the normalizer $N_M (N)$.

  • Sustainability index was calculated to determine the best management for rice productivity under long-term inorganic fertilizer management's practices. It is based on nutrient index, microbiological index and crop index related to sustainability as soil function. Indicators for calculating sustainability index were selected by the comparison of soil properties and rice response in paddy soil with fertilization. Total twenty two indicators were determined to assess nutrient index, microbiological index and crop index in order to compare the effect of different fertilization. The indices were applied to assess the sustainability with different inorganic fertilizer treatments such as control, N, NK, NP, NPK, NPK+Si, and NPK+Compost. The long-term application of compost with NPK was the highest sustainability index value because it increased nutrient index, microbial index and crop index. The use of chemical fertilizers resulted in poor soil microbial index and crop index, but the treatments like NP, NPK, and NPK+Si were maintained sustainability in paddy soil. These results indicate that application of organic and chemical fertilizer could be a good management to improve rice sustainability in paddy soil.

  • Results of the comparisons of various density functional theory (DFT) methods with different basis sets for predicting the molecular geometry of TPOP24N-Oxide macrocycle, an oxoporphyrin N-oxide, are reported in this paper. DFT methods, including M06-2X, B3LYP, LSDA, B3PW91, PBEPBE, and BPV86, are examined. Different basis sets, such as 6-$31G^*$, 6-31+G (d, p), 6-311+G (d, p), and 6-311++G (d, p), are also considered. The M06-2X/6-$31G^*$ level is superior to all other density functional methods used in predicting the geometry of TPOP24N-Oxide. The geometries of regioisomeric chlorin N-oxide and oxoporphyrin N-oxide are reported using M06-2X/6-$31G^*$ method. The geometry effects of oxoporphyrin and chlorin N-oxide regioisomers are increased ${\beta}-{\beta}$ bond lengths by N-oxidation because the bond overlap index due to charge transfers is decreased. In N-oxidation ring (II, III), angles that include ${\beta}-{\beta}$ bond length increase as the bond overlap index of ${\beta}-{\beta}$ bond is decreased by N-oxidation. The potential energy surfaces of chlorin N-oxide and oxoporphyrin N-oxide are explored by M06-2X/6-$31G^*$, and single-point calculations are performed at levels up to M06-2X/6-311++G (d, p). Total and relative energies are then calculated. The results indicate that chlorin 24 N-oxides are more stable than chlorin 22 N-oxides in chlorin N-oxide regioisomers. Moreover, TPOP24N-Oxide is less stable than TPOP22N-Oxide.

  • Plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) allows low temperature processing and so it is widely used, but it causes instability of devices due to serious amount of impurities within the film. In this paper, electrical and chemical characteristics of the PECVD oxynitride film formed by different N$_{2}$O to N$_{2}$O+NH$_{3}$ gas ratio is studied. It has been found that hydrogen concentration of PECVD oxynitride film was decreased from 4.25*10$^{22}$ [cm$^{-2}$ ] to 1.18*10$^{21}$ [cm$^{-2}$ ] according to the increase of N$_{2}$O gas. It was also found that PECVD oxynitride films have low trap density in the oxide and interface in comparison with PECVD nitroxide films, and has higher refractive index and capacitance than oxide films. In particular, oxynitride film formed in gas ratio of N$_{2}$O/(N$_{2}$O+NH$_{3}$)= 0.88 shows increased capacitance and decreased leakage current due to small portion of hydrogen in oxide and the accumulation of nitrogen about 4[atm.%] at the interface.

  • Anti-Reflective (AR) thin film coatings of $SiO_2$ (n= 1.48) and $TiO_2$ (n=2.17) were deposited by ion-beam assisted deposition (IBAD) with End-Hall ion source and conventional electron beam (e-beam) evaporation to investigate the effect of deposition method on the refractive indicies (n) of the fIlms. Green-light generation using a GaAs laser diode was achieved via excitation of the second harmonic. The latter resulted from the transmission of the fundamental guided-mode wave of 1064 nm through periodically poled $LiNbO_3$. Large differences in the refractive indicies of each of the layers in the multilayer coating may improve AR performance. IBAD of $SiO_2$ reduced its refractive index from 1.45 to 1.34 at 1064 nm. Conversely, e-beam evaporation of $TiO_2$ increased its refractive index from 1.80 to 2.11. In addition, no fluctuations in absorption at the wavelength of 1064 nm were found. The results suggest that films prepared by different deposition methods can increase the effectiveness of multilayer AR coatings.

  • The viscosities of organic compounds (alcohols, acetates, alkanes, acids, substituted $NH_2$) in liquid states, gas states and the binary mixtures of n-alkane / 1-chloroalkane were calculated by molecular modeling techniques. The molecular descriptors of molecular modeling technique are Molecular connectivity indices, Wiener indices and ad hoc descriptors, which can encode the information of compound properties about the effect of size, branching, cyclization, unsaturation, heteroatom content, polarizability, and so on. The successful results among method have been Molecular connectivity indices, binary mixtures of n-alkane / 1-chloroalkane, Wiener indices for gas state and ad hoc descriptor for liquid states. Also we obtained the regression equations for viscosities using molecular modeling indices for gas, liquid states and binary mixtures of n-alkane / 1-chloroalkane. The calculated viscosity values for organic compounds are in good agreement with experimental results.
