Image classification methods applicable multiple satellite imagery

  • Classification is considered as one of the processes of extracting attributes from satellite imagery and is one of the usual functions in the commercial satellite image processing software. Accuracy of classification plays a key role in deciding the usage of its results. Many tremendous efforts far the higher accuracy have been done in such fields; training area selection, classification algorithm. Our research is one of these effort in different manners. In this research, we conduct classification using multiple satellite image data and evidential approach. We statistically consider the posterior probabilities and certainty in maximum likelihood classification and methodologically Dempster's orthogonal sums. Unfortunately, accuracy for the whole data sets has not assessed yet, but accuracy assessments in training fields and check fields shows accuracy improvement over 10% in overall accuracy and over 0.1 in kappa index.

  • This paper describes the system development for the Ground Control Point collection and management through the major coastline region in KOREA, which will collect and manage the ground control point based on high resolution satellite image database. The module of this system is following 1) GCP/Coarstline research plan module 2) GCP/Coarstline ground collection module 3) GCP/Coarstline post processing module Our team developed the core components of ‘High Resolution Satellite Image Processing Technique’ project, and this system, among applications of our project, is constructed to apply to practical use.   • This paper describes the SAR geocoding module, which is the sub-module of a IRHIS ('Integrated RS s/w for High resolution satellite ImageS'): package of 'Development of High Resolution Satellite Image Processing Technique' project in Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI). The function of this module is following. 1) Orbit Type : ERS1/ERS2, RADARSAT 2) Data Format : SAR CEOS Format(Single Look Complex) 3) Function: - Geocode : Generate a map projected SAR image based on only orbit information - Orthorectify: Generate a rigorous geocoded SAR image with a DEM information In this paper, we briefly describe the algorithm that is adopted to the functions, and component architecture.

  • In this paper, according to the classical LSQR algorithm forsolving least squares (LS) problem, an iterative method is proposed for finding the minimum-norm pure imaginary solution of the quaternionic least squares (QLS) problem. By means of real representation of quaternion matrix, the QLS's correspongding vector algorithm is rewrited back to the matrix-form algorthm without Kronecker product and long vectors. Finally, numerical examples are reported that show the favorable numerical properties of the method.

  • The unitary Lie-Trotter-Kato product formula gives in a simplest way a meaning to the Feynman path integral for the Schroding-er equation. In this note we want to survey some of recent results on the norm convergence of the selfadjoint Lie-Trotter Kato product formula for the Schrodinger operator -1/2Δ + V(x) and for the sum of two selfadjoint operators A and B. As one of the applications, a remark is mentioned about an approximation therewith to the fundamental solution for the imaginary-time Schrodinger equation.

  • We prove that if a subfield of the Hilbert class field of an imaginary quadratic field k meets the anticyclotomic $\mathbb{Z}_p$-extension $k^a_{\infty}$ of k, then it is contained in $k^a_{\infty}$. And we give an example of an imaginay quadratic field k with ${\lambda}_3(k^a_{\infty}){\geq}8$.

  • The behavior of Ni-Zn ferrite/Mn-Zn ferrite composite electromagnetic absorber was investigated. The imaginary part of complex permeability of the composite was higher than that of either ferrite alone at all frequency range (50∼1400MHz) studied. The difference, which was pronounced in low frequency range, was reached the maximum value when the composite consisted of constituent ferrites with equal amount. Since the thickness in inversely proportional to the imaginary part of complex permeability for the ferrite absorber, it was possible to reduce the thickness of electromagnetic absorber by employing a composite of two different ferrites.

  • By a change of variables we obtain new $y$-coordinates of elliptic curves. Utilizing these $y$-coordinates as meromorphic modular functions, together with the elliptic modular function, we generate the fields of meromorphic modular functions. Furthermore, by means of the special values of the $y$-coordinates, we construct the ray class fields over imaginary quadratic fields as well as normal bases of these ray class fields.

A Bayesian Test Criterion for the Multivariate Behrens-Fisher Problem

  • An approximate Bayes criterion for multivariate Behrens-Fisher problem is proposed and examined. Development of the criterion involves derivation of approximate Bayes factor using the imaginary training sample approach introduced by Speigelhalter and Smith (1982). The criterion is designed to develop a Bayesian test, so that it provides an alternative test to other tests based upon asymptotic sampling theory (such as the tests suggested by Bennett(1951), James(1954) and Yao(1965). For the derived criterion, numerical studies demonstrate routine application and give comparisons with the classical tests.

  • A Bayes criterion for testing the equality of covariance matrices of two multivariate normal distributions is proposed and studied. Development of the criterion invloves calculation of Bayes factor using the imaginary sample method introduced by Spiegelhalter and Smith (1982). The criterion is designed to develop a Bayesian test criterion, so that it provides an alternative test criterion to those based upon asymptotic sampling theory (such as Box's M test criterion). For the constructed criterion, numerical studies demonstrate routine application and give comparisons with the traditional test criteria.
