  • An M-ary bi-orthogonal modulation scheme for ultra-wideband (UWB) systems capable of narrowband interference (NBI) suppression is proposed in this letter. We utilize a set of bi-orthogonal pulse series to achieve NBI suppression. Through analysis and simulation, we verify that the proposed scheme can suppress NBIs effectively.

  • Let I be an ideal of a commutative Noetherian semi-local ring R and M be an R-module. It is shown that if dim M ≤ 2 and SuppR M ⊆ V (I), then M is I-weakly cofinite if (and only if) the R-modules HomR(R/I, M) and Ext1R(R/I, M) are weakly Laskerian. As a consequence of this result, it is shown that the category of all I-weakly cofinite modules X with dim X ≤ 2, forms an Abelian subcategory of the category of all R-modules. Finally, it is shown that if dim R/I ≤ 2, then for each pair of finitely generated R-modules M and N and each pair of the integers i, j ≥ 0, the R-modules TorRi(N, HjI(M)) and ExtiR(N, HjI(M)) are I-weakly cofinite.

  • Let $M_g$ be the moduli space of isomorphism classes of genus g smooth curves. It is a quasi-projective variety of dimension 3g - 3, when $g > 2$. It is known that a complete subvariety of $M_g$ has dimension $< g-1 [D]$. In general it is not known whether this bound is rigid. For example, it is not known whether $M_4$ has a complete surface in it. But one knows that there is a complete curve through any given finite points [H]. Recently, an explicit example of a complete curve in moduli space is given in [G-H]. In [G-H] they constructed a complete curve of $M_3$ as an intersection of five hypersurfaces of the Satake compactification of $M_3$. One way to get a complete curve of $M_3$ is to find a complete one dimensional family $p : X \to B$ of plane quartics which gives a nontrivial morphism from the base space B to the moduli space $M_3$. This is because every non-hyperelliptic smooth curve of genus three can be realized as a nonsingular plane quartic and vice versa. This paper has come out from the effort to find such a complete family of plane quartics. Since nonsingular quartics form an affine space some fibers of p must be singular ones. In this paper, due to the semistable reduction theorem [M], we search singular plane quartics which can occur as singular fibers of the family above. We first list all distinct plane quartics in terms of singularities.

  • This paper examines the impact of the strategic leadership of CEOs after M&A on resistance to change and on perceived performance. Most M&A research has focused on the strategic, financial and economic aspects, while studies on leadership and employee behavior have been limited. CEO leadership is critical to a successful M&A. Recently, strategic leadership has been attracting more attention. Strategic leadership can be defined as a person's ability to anticipate, envision, maintain flexibility, think strategically and to work with others to initiate changes that will create a viable future for an organization. It can also reduce resistance and improve perceived performance. So this paper used empirical studies from the IT industry after M&A.

  • Recently, Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) have become increasingly popular in the last few decades, and overseas' M&A are particularly increasing to sharpen corporate competitiveness on a global scale. Previous studies showed that one of the main reasons attributes to failures of mergers was the lack of attention to merging information systems. In recent years, both academy and industry have more focused on Post-Merger Integration (PMI) and the integration of information systems (IS) between two companies is one of the critical success factors of corporate. This paper focused on Post-Merger IT (Information Technology) Integration Methodology of Cross-Border M&A. We followed a single-site qualitative case study method in order to investigate the type of phenomenon in M&A's natural setting. Moreover, we examined a typical energy and power company case in order-based industry, so that other industry players may have different results to determine post-merger IT integration method and scope.

  • This study focuses on the new hardware design of fast and low-complexity multiplier over GF(2$\^$m/). The proposed multiplier based on the irreducible all one polynomial (AOP) of degree m, to reduced the system's complexity. It composed of Cyclic Shift, Partial Product, and Modular Summation Blocks. Also it consists of (m+1)$^2$2-input AND gates and m(m+1) 2-input XOR gates. Out architecture is very regular, modular and therefore, well-suited for VLSI implementation.

  • It is well-known that an analytic generic CR submainfold M of codimension m in Cn+m is locally transformed by a biholomorphic mapping to a plane Cn$\times$Rm ⊂ Cn$\times$Cm whenever the Levi form L on M vanishes identically. We obtain such a normalizing biholomorphic mapping of M in terms of the defining function of M. Then it is verified without Frobenius theorem that M is locally foliated into complex manifolds of dimension n.

  • The effects of amino acids in growth media on the biosynthesis of Serratia marcescens biodegradative threonine dehydratase activity were examined. The enzyme activity was decreased by 44 and 34% by 10 mM isoleucine and valine, respectively, whereas it was increased approximately by 20% by 10 mM threonine. Among several metabolites tested, pyruvate increased the enzyme activity by 60% at 5 mM, but decreased the enzyme activity approximately by 20 to 70% above 20 mM. The enzyme activity was increased by 64% by 5 mM glyoxylate, whereas it decreased the enzyme activity approximately by 40 to 70% above 20 mM glyoxylate. The thiamine, monopyrrole derivative, also increased the enzyme activity by 84% at 50 $\mu $g/ml, but did not affected the enzyme activity above 300 $\mu $g/ml. cAMP increased the enzyme activity by 58% at 0.5 mM, but decreased the enzyme activity by 15% at 2 mM. These data suggested that the biosynthesis of Serratia marcescens biodegradative threonine dehydratase is regulated by concentrations of pyruvate, glyoxylate and cAMP.

  • The aspect of future warfare is NCW(Network Centric Warfare) in accordance with the IT development, so MND have the planning of M-BcN(Military Broadband convergence Network) establishment as the basic system of NCW by the end of 2008. IPv6 address must be managed systematically as a essential element of NCW. In the previous study, it is designed on the basis of the present military information communication network topology. However, it makes some problems. First, it is difficult for present topology to adapt the future M-BcN which is different from the present military network topology. Second, it has defects of inefficiency of route aggregation and enlargement of routing table size. In this paper, we improved the route aggregation and routing table size by assigning the hierarchical address on the basis of M-BcN topology and adjusting the position of field identifying service network. Furthermore, it is proved by the network simulation program(OPNET 12.0).

  • Though a variety of demands for an green dwelling, it is hard to diffuse a wooden house due to high construction cost. So this study aims to diffuse to propose a space modular for production and supply. Therefore the result of investigation to the space modular of each room through the survey of width and depth in the type of dwelling in korea is as follows. 1) Investigated the mixture of magnitude on the total width and depth, the survey is showed commonly 3.6m and 4.2m. 2) Once the depth is 3.6m, a living room and inner room, room's width is 3.9m, 4.5m. Once the depth is 4.2m, those width is 4.8m. 3) By use of a survey, the post distances consisted of all rooms are 3.6m, 3.9m, 4.2m, 4.5m, 4.8m. The result of investigation to possibility for mixture applied to six level types invested post modules to the wooden house of post & Beam method is as follows. 1) With the regularity of depth and simplicity of width, It is potential to compound floor plan in korea. 2) It is possible to plan an informal shape of kitchen+dining room which is a spare space available for the merit changeable space after arranged main rooms. 3) It is possible to plan a space through a variety of mixture method at bathroom. Thus, it is possible for a variety of floor formations to build a low-cost wooden house through five types of post distance.
