Purpose. This study was to effects of major satisfaction of dental hygiene students and students on self-efficacy and career preparation behavior by investigation to provide basic data for developing a systematic career customized employment support program. Methods. The data were collected from 249 students from December 1 to 10 day 2016 in Yeongnam region. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics frequency, t-test(One-way ANOVA), logistic regression by SPSS WIN 18.0 program. Results. According to the general characteristics department dental hygiene students were major satisfied with 59.8%. Satisfaction with career decision self-efficacy and career preparation self-efficacy was found to $68.30{\pm}10.21$ statistically significant(p<.001). Satisfaction was also found to statistically significant ($32.65{\pm}6.05$) in career preparation behavior(p<.05). Satisfactory scores were found to 1.306 times higher than the dissatisfied students in the career decision self-efficacy goal setting. It was found that 8.423 times in satisfaction of career planning in career preparation. Conclusion. Considering the effects of dental hygiene students' major satisfaction on career decision self - efficacy and career preparation behavior, it would be good if we could develop and use various programs to improve the satisfaction of students in their majors.
The purpose of this study is to observe the rapidly changing men's fashion style in the contemporary society and to analyze the features related to the major-subject groups, male university students. This information could be used for clothing companies to plan commodities, divide markets, and develop designs. The results are as follows. First, several opinions were varied among students' majors. For the opinion about the male students focusing on their external appearance, the students from all majors said that it depends on individual preference. For 4 reasons of external appearances, students from all majors frequently said that they should adjust their external appearance for employment. For the opinion about what is considered the most in the purchase of clothing, most of the students considered about the design of the cloth. For the opinion about influences on the purchase of clothing, major of the students were influenced by their friend or colleague. on the other hand, the students from artistic talent and physical education mentioned other opinion that it depends that it depends on situation and own intention is most important. Second, for the question about clothing behavior, with regard to monthly average shopping control expense, the students from all majors mentioned the amount less than KRW 50,000. For the opinion about the number of shopping, most student mentioned once a season. For the opinion about the store to purchase dress, most students mentioned the use of large shopping mall but the students from business administration and economy mentioned the use of discount store. Third, for the question about preferred style and preferred brand, with regard to the opinion about usual style, the students from all majors have worn casual style. For the opinion about the preferred style, most students mentioned casual style. For the opinion about man's accessory wearing, the students from all majors mentioned that it is good and for the opinion about coordination item, most students mentioned bag.

Objective: This study was performed to verify how DISC behavior patterns affect the major satisfaction and professionalism of dental hygiene students and provide basic data for dental hygiene students to have increased major satisfaction and maximize their strength by understanding their DISC behavior pattern. As a result, the following conclusion was obtained. Methods: The data was collected From November 1, 2018 to November 14, 2018, 218 dental hygiene students. Data was collected using self-reported questionnaires. Statistical analysis was performed with IBM SPSS ver. 21.0. Mean (standard deviation) and one-way ANOVA & pearson correlation were performed. Results: The most frequent DISC behavior patterns of dental hygiene students was steadiness types (49.0%) followed by influence types (34.5%), conscientiousness types (9.0%), and dominance types (7.5%). There were no significant difference in professionalism and major satisfaction according to DISC behavior patterns in dental hygiene students. There was a correlation between major satisfaction and professionalism of dental hygiene students. Conclusion: In conclusion, in order for dental hygiene students to establish positive professionalism through increased major satisfaction, it is necessary to make various efforts such as providing consultation and education that corresponds to each student's DISC behavior patterns. These efforts will provide the students career vision and encourage them to improve their academic achievement and find employment that fits their vocational aptitude.
With 1002 students around 8 colleges nationwide joining, the survey was on their knowledge before entering their school, and thereafer, the degree of their satisfaction in their major and professors & lectures. 1. When they chose their major, the most influential was their parents and relatives, the largest number of 435(43.5%) replied, About the motivation for selection their jajor, 454(45.4%) answered the most it seemed to be a bright future specialty. On that question, more freshmen(51.0%) answered theyu expected good trend than sophomores and juniors and more women students(48.8%) did so than men ones.(P<.05) 2. While 619(61.8%) were familiar with major before applying, only 68(6.85%) knew their major very well at that time. More freshmen(62.5%) applied in the state of well-knowing what their major is than sophomores and juniors did.(P<.01) More women students(40.9%) applied not knowing it than the counterpart. About the time for choice, 795(79.5%) answered the most one of application days. More women students(81.0%) chose their major during the application time(P<.01) 3. The satisfaction survey shows 438(43.8%) are satisfied and 165(16.5%) are not. More men students(47.2%) are satisfied.(P<.01) The factor their satisfaction is their major come together with aptitude(44.7%), 196ppl), and the dissatisfaction factor is the difficulty of the theory and practice.(30.8%, 171ppl) 4. If they could change their major, 454(46.6%) wouldn't do so, while 541(54.4%) would shift their major to other fields. More freshmen(49.5%) wouldn't change than sophomores and juniors. Neither did more men students(4938%) than women. Within the same grade, there's no meaninful difference.(P<.01) 5. On the satisfaction in the lectures of the professors of their major, 464(46.5%) said the lecutres are excellent, 102(10.2%), they are not. About the lectures of the liberal subjects, 193(19.4%) said are excellent, 365(36.6%) are not.
For the purpose of strengthening Dental Hygiene students' confidence and motivation in the Dental Hygiene Department and helping construct proper professionalism, survey on Dental Hygiene students' consciousness of attitude to and satisfaction of the course, career plan and occupation mind set was carried out. 530 three year students in 8 Dental Hygiene academies in Seoul and Kyonggi province were questioned. The results of the survery are as follows:. 1. Dental Hygiene students' motives consisted primarily of employment and a desire for professionalism 25% of them entered the course after one failure in the entrance examination and 17% had family members engaging in the dentistry field 84%, the largest portion, were from an academic high school. 24% had some knowledge of Dental Hygiene, which they had acquired from seniors, friends, and teachers. 2. Patient care and treatment assistance related matters were not considered important in the course. The weak points of the course turned out to be education in computers and foreign languages, but the weakest was the ability of patient care during clinical training. 53% had experiences had thought of changing their major while in the course because it didn't match their aptitude and interest. 3. As for a career after graduation, 49% worried about it Most students wanted to work at a dental hospital or general hospital, The most favored duty was coordination or reception or oral disease preventive work. They wanted to work untill they had a stable living. 68% answered they would get a job at an oral clinic and 70% said they would continue studying for self-realization. 4. Satisfaction with the major was high in students whose aptitude and interest matched the course, who had background knowledge of the major, and who. didn't think of changing the major but would continue studying resulting in statistically slight difference(p<0.001). As to satisfaction with the faculties, it was high in the students whose aptitude and interest matched the major and who didn't think about a career after graduation showing a slight difference(p<05, p<0l). As for satisfaction with clinical training, students whose aptitude and interest matched the major and who didn't consider changing the major answered positively showing a statistically slight difference(p<.001, p<.01). As to satisfaction with the course, it was high in the students who entered with aptitude and interest, who had preliminary knowledge, who didn't consider changing the major, and who didn't think about a career after graduation showing a statistically slight difference(p<.001, p<.05). 5. Occupation mind-set was positive for students who entered with interest and aptitude, who had preliminary knowledge, and who had not considered changing the major showing a statistically slight difference(P<.001). The higher the satisfaction with the major, faculty and clinical training was, the more positive the occupation mind-set was(p<.001).
This research aims to explore the factors affecting engineering students' major persistence and career decision. To achieve this goal, the experiences and perceptions of engineering students and other stakeholders regarding the factors influencing engineering students' major persistence and career decision were analyzed through online focus group interviews (FGI). The analysis of the interviews resulted in the identification of seven categories, which include meeting with older alumni, team project experiences, and internship experiences as factors influencing major persistence. Additionally, engineering interest, engineering self-efficacy, employment rates, economic factors, and limitations in women engineers' career development were identified as factors affecting career decision. Based on these findings, it is expected that engineering education will develop plans that focus on supporting the major persistence and career development of engineering students, thereby contributing to the future direction of engineering education.
This study examined knowledge and hair care behaviors of hair and scalp on UV(ultraviolet) comparing beauty care major and non-major female students. Results were obtained by questionnaire in 159 students majoring in beauty care and 198 students not majoring, was used frequency analysis, varimax rotation, t-test, F-test, Tukey post test. The analysis was statistically processed by using SPSS 12.0 program. The knowledge of hair and scalp on UV associated with a major showed significant on hair damage, in the UV, hair, scalp, hair damage, and UV and hair-related items, suggesting higher level in major female students. The results of care behaviors of UV and hair and scalp knowledge associated with a major. Correlation of care behaviors with a major showed significant results. For correlation by subfactor, there was significant difference in self-care, habitual care, and washing care between two groups, but there was no significant difference in protection care. It was found that both major and non-major students did not receive professional care.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relation between satisfaction in major, career decision-making self-efficacy and career identity of nursing students. Methods: Data were collected from 543 students by means of self reported questionnaires about satisfaction in major, career decision-making self-efficacy and career identity from November 26 to 30, 2012. Results: The average score of satisfaction in major, career decision-making self-efficacy and career identity of nursing students was 3.56 on a 5 point-scale, 3.28 on a 5 point-scale, and 2.65 on a 4 point-scale respectively. There were significant correlation between satisfaction in major, career decision-making self-efficacy and career identity of nursing students. Career identity could be explained 26.2% by satisfaction in major, career decision-making self-efficacy, admission motivation, and school grade. Conclusion: Career identity was correlated with satisfaction in major and career decision-making self-efficacy in nursing students. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an effective intervention program to improve nursing students's satisfaction in major, career decision-making self-efficacy and career identity.
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to identify mediating effects of nursing professionalism on the relationship between image of nurses and satisfaction with nursing as a major among nursing students. Methods : A self report questionnaire survey was completed by 429 nursing students in 1 university in K city. Data were collected between April 25 and May 06, 2016 and analyzed using the SPSS 21.0 program. Results : The nursing students recognized that image of nurses had a positive (+) effect on nursing professionalism and satisfaction with nursing as a major, and nursing professionalism had a positive (+) effect on satisfaction with nursing as a major. Further, nursing professionalism had significant partial mediating effect on the relationship between image of nurses and satisfaction with nursing as a major. Conclusions : These results indicate that nursing professionalism has a positive mediating role on the relationship between image of nurses and satisfaction with nursing as a major among nursing students. Therefore, in order to promote satisfaction with nursing as a major in nursing students, it is necessary to develop and implement educational programs that can form a desirable image of nurses and nursing professionalism.
Teachers can maximize students' L2 learning by knowing preferred learning styles. This paper presents the results of a survey that asked 309 English learners to identify their perceptual learning style preferences. It further compared students' favored learning styles in terms of their gender and major field of study and explored a possible link between learning styles and English achievement. Collected data using Reid's (1995) questionnaire were analyzed by descriptive statistics, MANOVA, ANOVA, correlations, multiple regressions including squared partial correlations, and Cronbach's alpha. The results indicated that Korean students favored English learning in group regardless of gender, while their preferred mode of learning was significantly different in regard to their major field of study. Certain learning styles might be profitable for English achievement. Multiple regression analyses revealed that individual mode of learning was the best predictor of students' English achievement. It furthermore showed significant relationships between visual and individual styles of learning and English performance. The findings of the study reflected students' English learning context in which English native-speaking teachers frequently used communicative pair and small group activities for speaking practices that were consonant with students' learning styles.
