The purpose of the present study is to empirically and theoretically assess the logistics information systems (LIS) success in a quasi-voluntary IS use context. It is important to understand what factors impact the successful use of LIS. The research model is basically based on the framework of IS success proposed by DeLone & McLean(1992) and Seddon(1997). Structural modeling techniques were applied to data collected by questionnaire from 203 LIS users. The results show that user satisfaction play a significant role in influencing the system dependency. The results also revealed that user characteristics is directly affected by perceived usefulness, system quality and information quality, and indirectly influenced by user characteristics.

The real estate management includes not only the brokerage, property management, development, investment and consulting which are related to real estate handling, but also the human resources who deal with the real estate business. The level of management quality of Korean real estate business is rather poor. This paper deals with management innovation of real estate management using Six Sigma methodology The main focus of this Paper is to develop strategy Planning, and is to select critical success factors for each strategy to make an advanced management system for real estate business. This paper is a case study, and the target company for this innovation is ERA-Korea Company. Seven strategies are proposed, and for each strategy several critical success factors are suggested. Through this case study, the authors hope that a management quality model for real estate business is proposed, and an improved management method can be adopted in the other real estate companies.

The purpose of this study is to empirically identify the critical success factors of MRO e-marketplace. The research model presented in this study suggests that the success of MRO e-marketplace depends on environment of organization, type of product and service, and system of MRO e-marketplace. The major empirical findings of a survey of 38 firms in Korea are as follows: 1) The managers of firms have a deep concern on the effectiveness of MRO e-marketplace and are satisfied with the time saving provided by the transaction through MRO e-marketplace. 2) The variables affecting the success of MRO e-marketplace are classified into eight factors representing the characteristics of environment of organization, type of product and service, and system of MRO e-marketplace. 3) Among eight factors extracted from factor analysis, three factors are highly associated with the success of MRO e-marketplace. More specifically, the three factors, such as inside environment of company, capability of product supply, and basic function of MRO e-marketplace system, are the most Important factors affecting the success of MRO e-marketplace. The implications of the study are discussed and furlher research directions are proposed.

Partnering concept has been mentioned as an innovative arrangement that helps to reduce many of the disadvantages of the traditional arrangement. Partnering in construction has been widely applied in Vietnam from late 1990s. The application of the new has arrangement spread thanks to anecdotal proofs. This concept is quite new to Vietnamese practitioners. It is necessary to conduct study as a lesson-learn of the industry to encourage the partnering implementation. This paper attempts to develop a model, using discriminant analysis, which classifies the partnering in construction projects into success levels. Dedication, teamwork, sufficiency, and balance are the four significant components in discriminant model. The proposed model is helpful to practitioners in developing, adjusting and improving their strategy for partnering implementation.

This paper describes the differences of the information system's success factors to improve the end-user's performance according to the job characteristics. A modified model of DeLone and McLean's IS success model is proposed with the two added variables of the top management concern and the IS department support. The model is validated using data collected from a field study of 3872 users on 3 Korean companies. ANOVA, correlation analysis, and stepwise regression are used to test research hypotheses. The results of the study indicate the following implications. First the top management concern and the IS department support have the significant relation with the system usage and the user satisfaction. Second, the system quality has an influence on the user satisfaction more than on the system usage. And the information quality has an influence on the system usage more than on the user satisfaction. Third, the system usage has more relations to the user's performance in the logistics function and R&D function. The user satisfaction has more relations to the user's performance in the sales and the A/S function. Therefore information system strategy to increase the user's performance must be differentiated according to job characteristics.

Virotherapy is an effective method for the treatment of cancer. The oncolytic virus specifically infects the lyse cancer cell without harming normal cells. There is a time delay between the time of interaction of the virus with the tumor cells and the time when the tumor cells become infectious and produce new virus particles. Several types of viruses are used in virotherapy and the delay varies with the type of virus. This delay can play an important role in the success of virotherapy. Our present study is to explore the impact of this delay in cancer virotherapy through a mathematical model based on delay differential equations. The partial success of virotherapy is guarenteed when one gets a stable non-trivial equilibrium with a low level of tumor cells. There exits Hopf-bifurcation by considering the delay as bifurcation parameter. We have estimated the length of delay which preserves the stability of the non-trivial equilibrium point. So when the delay is less than a threshold value, we can predict partial success of virotherapy for suitable sets of parameters. Here numerical simulations are also performed to support the analytical findings.

The structure of layer for success factors of company project can be known by FSM which is available to recognize structure of the system. However, the relationship between the layers which belongs to the success factors of company projects can be unknown. From these viewpoints, this study is to analyze the structure of the relation between the layers contained the success factors of company projects using fuzzy system. Therefore, the relationship between lower vs middle layer and middle vs upper layer are obtained by evaluation model of company projects which has possibility and necessity of fuzzy system as fuzzy relation matrix. Using these results, fuzzy relation analysis is done and showed the usefulness.

It is well documented that physiological and nutritional condition of wintering birds is strongly related to migration success to breeding sites, and also breeding success. However, how abiotic factors during winter affect the migration and breeding successes still remains unclear. Thus, this study developed a dynamic-state-dependent model for wintering life-history to identify the potential impact on the life-history, success to breeding site and breeding success of wintering birds, which are related to temperature fluctuation, interspecific competition and human disturbance at the wintering sites. To find the best-fit-model, we referred to the existing research data on wintering ecology of Red-crowned cranes (Grus japonensis) in Cheolwon, Korea, which is well documented as a long-term wintering study. Our model predicted that the higher temperature fluctuation and a higher rate of human disturbance are negatively related to migration success to breeding sites and their fitness, ultimately breeding success via changing of proportion in resource allocation (for e. g., lower energy compensation or higher level of stress accumulation). Particularly, the rate of body mass compensation after arrival at wintering sites may be accelerated when there are less temperature fluctuations and a lower rate of human disturbance. In addition, the rate of interspecific competition sharing the wintering foraging sites is negatively related to the rate of body mass compensation. Consequently, we discussed the conservation strategies of wintering birds based on the outcomes of the model.

This paper improves top-down execution models of logic programs based on a two-phase abstract interpretation which consists of a bottom-up analysis followed by a top-down one. The two-phase analysis provides an approximation of all (possibly non-ground) success patterns of clauses relevant to a query. It is specialized by considering Sato and Tamaki’s depth k abstraction as abstract function. By the ability of the analysis to approximate possibly non-ground success patterns of clauses relevant to a query, it can be statically determined whether some subgoals will fail during execution and some succeeding subgoals do not participate in success patterns of program clauses relevant to a given query. These properties are utilized to improve execution models. This approach can be easily applied to any top-down (parallel) execution models. As instances, it is shown to be applicable to linear execution model and AND/OR Process Model.

The study on the critical success factors (CSF) for electronic commerce systems has been a hot topic in both academe and industry. On the basis of reviewing papers on CSF and analyzing their problems, this paper designs the initial assessment indictors and website features and functions influencing EC success. Using Delphi survey and data analysis, we get the five important assessment indictors and seven important web features and functions. Furthermore, the hypothesis of CSF model is proposed. Finally, we conduct a survey on the Chinese Publishing Industry to test the hypothesis. The result shows that the hypothesis is partly supported, which means useful and understandable information, complete and timely information, credible and accurate information, all product-related information are the critical success factors for EC publishing industry. This research not only impels EC research in China, but also has instructional effect on the implementation of EC for enterprises to increase the success rate of EC.
