A Study on the Development of a Power Supply for Driving Magnetron (마그네트론 구동용 전원장치 설계에 관한 연구)

  • This paper describes a power supply of a CW magnetron for driving a electrodeless plasma lamp. The proposed power supply consists of a power factor controller, a series resonant ZVS half bridge inverter, a high voltage leakage transformer, and two IGBT drives. From the simulation results, it was confirmed that the proposed circuits can control the input power of the magnetron up to 33.3[%] linearly by adjust driving frequency of the inverter.

  • In this paper voltage distribution in the windings of an inverter fed induction motor is studied. High frequency parameters of the induction motor are calculated using finite element analysis. With these parameters. a high frequency equivalent circuit of the inverter-cable-motor is formed. The transient analysis is performed using ATP-EMTP package to estimate the voltage distribution in the motor windings.

  • To overcome the problem of the diode reverse recovery in high switching frequency inverter, a new gate drive scheme is proposed for IGBT in this paper. Using this circuit, the reverse recovery current can be controlled and faster switching time can be achieved for hard switching inverter. The over-current protection method, which is suitable for the proposed gate driver, is also presented. The operation of the proposed circuit is investigated and its usefulness is verified through the experimental results.

  • In this paper, the ordinariest and strongest simulator that many used to power electronics circuits and many different control technology can apply to more easily understand modeling the element, PSPICE and MATLAB are adapted a micro IGBT, a macro IGBT, PWM generator and to library moeling of validity of the Induction motor is interpreted. Micro IGBT model of demagnetization quality proved for modeling accuracy to through experiment, macromodel IGBT were simulated which the applied to voltage type PWM inverter to the cyclo-converter and induction motor of demagnetization.

  • HEP(Head Electric Power) system, supplying 3-phase service power to the coach vehicles, is a kind of special auxiliary power equipment which is boarded on 8200 series electric locomotives in KORAIL. This equipment shares high voltage DC link with a main propulsion converter/inverter systems. It was difficult to use high frequency PWM technique so that GTO has been used as a power device same like the main power system. Due to low PWM frequency(300Hz) of HEP inverter, the output voltage has less power quality comparing to normal SIV(Static Inverter) system. In this paper, an optimal PWM strategy is presented for new IGBT type HEP inverter system. Several PWM techniques were investigated to improve output voltage quality under fixed lower filter inductance and not high PWM frequency. Finally PC simulations have been done to clarify its availability.

  • This paper describes a solar energy conversion strategy is applied to grid-connected single phase inverter by the maximum power point of conversion strategy. The maximum power point of tracking is controlled output power of PV(photovoltaic)modules, based on generated circuit control MOSFET switch of two boost converter for a connected single phase inverter with four IGBT's switch in full bridge. The generation control circuit allows each photovoltaic module to operate independently at peak capacity, simply by detecting of the output power of PV module. Furthermore, the generation control circuit attenuates low-frequency ripple voltage. which is caused by the full-bridge inverter, across the photovoltaic modules. The effectiveness of the proposed inverter system is confirmed experimentally and by means of simulation.

  • IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) device is a device with excellent current conducting capability, it is widely used as a switching device power supplies, converters, solar inverter, household appliances or the like, designed to handle the large power. This research was proposed 1200 class dual gate IGBT for electrical vehicle. To compare the electrical characteristics, The planar gate IGBT and trench gate IGBT was designd with same design and process parameters. And we carried to compare electrical characteristics about three devices. As a result of analyzing electrical characteristics, The on state voltage drop charateristics of dual gate IGBT was superior to those of planar IGBT and trench IGBT. Therefore, Aspect to Energy Loss, dual gate IGBT was efficiency. The breakdown volgate and threshold voltage of planar, trench and dual gate IGBT were 1460V and 4V.

  • 철도용 전동기는 작은 크기와 중량에 비해 큰 추진력(토크)을 필요로 하지만, 전철의 입력전원 시스템의 특유한 성질로 입력전압이 주기적으로 부족하다. 따라서 전압이용률을 최대화할 수 있는 과변조 PWM이 필요하다. 또 철도용 IGBT 인버터의 스위칭 주파수는 기존의 GTO인버터보다 2배 이상 크므로 철도용 IGBT 인버터 전용의 새로운 동기화 전략이 필요하다. 본 논문은 'Min/Max PWM'을 과변조 영역으로 선형 확장하는 과변조 PWM기법과 최적 동기화법을 혼합한 철도용 IGBT 인버터를 위한 최적 PWM 전략을 제안한다. 전동기-관성부하 모델을 대상으로 시뮬레이션한 결과와 축소모델 실험 결과는 본 전략이 타당함을 보여준다.

  • In this paper, we present IGBT VVVF inverters as a 1C1M propulsion system for electric car. These inverters are composed of high power IGBT's and controlled by compact control units. The control unit performs full digital control by using 32bit DSP and microcontroller. By using CAN-bus, high speed network is constructed within four control units. The stack is simplified and optimized by using plate bus and IGBT driver units of hybrid-type.

  • In this paper, a novel new pulse power generator based on IGBT stacks is proposed for pulse power application. Because it can generate up to 60kV pulse output voltage without any step- up transformer or pulse forming network, it has advantages of fast rising time, easiness of pulse width variation and rectangular pulse shape. Proposed scheme consists of series connected 9 power stages to generate maximum 60kV output pulse and one series resonant power inverter to charge DC capacitor voltage. Each power stages are configured as 8 series connected power cells and each power cell generates up to 850VDC pulse. Finally pulse output voltage is applied using total 72 series connected IGBTs. To reduce component for gate power supply, a simple and robust gate drive circuit is proposed. For gating signal synchronization, full bridge invertor and pulse transformer generates on-off signals of IGBT gating with gate power simultaneously and it has very good characteristics of short circuit protection.
