  • Let R be a commutative ring with $1{\neq}0$, I a proper ideal of R, and m and n positive integers. In this paper, we define I to be a weakly (m, n)-closed ideal if $0{\neq}x^m\;{\in}I$ for $x{\in}R$ implies $x^n{\in}I$, and R to be an (m, n)-von Neumann regular ring if for every $x{\in}R$, there is an $r{\in}R$ such that $x^mr=x^n$. A number of results concerning weakly(m, n)-closed ideals and (m, n)-von Neumann regular rings are given.

  • For a grading monoid S, we prove that (1) if (S, M) is a valuation semigroup, then M is an m-canonical ideal, that is, an ideal M such that M : (M:J)=J for every ideal J of S. (2) if S is an integrally closed semigroup and S has a principal m-canonical ideal, then S is a valuation semigroup, and (3) if S is a completely integrally closed and S has an m-canonical ideal I, then every ideal of S is I-invertible, that is, J+(I+J)=I for every ideal J of S.

  • An ideal I of a ring R is strongly ${\pi}$-regular if for any $x{\in}I$ there exist $n{\in}\mathbb{N}$ and $y{\in}I$ such that $x^n=x^{n+1}y$. We prove that every strongly ${\pi}$-regular ideal of a ring is a B-ideal. An ideal I is periodic provided that for any $x{\in}I$ there exist two distinct m, $n{\in}\mathbb{N}$ such that $x^m=x^n$. Furthermore, we prove that an ideal I of a ring R is periodic if and only if I is strongly ${\pi}$-regular and for any $u{\in}U(I)$, $u^{-1}{\in}\mathbb{Z}[u]$.

  • Let R be a commutative ring with $1{\neq}0$. In this paper, we introduce the concept of 2-absorbing primary ideal which is a generalization of primary ideal. A proper ideal I of R is called a 2-absorbing primary ideal of R if whenever $a,b,c{\in}R$ and $abc{\in}I$, then $ab{\in}I$ or $ac{\in}\sqrt{I}$ or $bc{\in}\sqrt{I}$. A number of results concerning 2-absorbing primary ideals and examples of 2-absorbing primary ideals are given.

  • The notion of a uni-soft commutative ideal with thresholds is introduced, and related properties are investigated. Relations between a uni-soft ideal with thresholds and a uni-soft commutative ideal with thresholds are discussed. Conditions for a uni-soft ideal with thresholds to be a uni-soft commutative ideal with the same thresholds are provided. Characterizations of a uni-soft commutative ideal with thresholds are established.

  • The motivation mainly comes from the conditions of the (ordered) ideals to be prime or semiprime that are of importance and interest in (ordered) semigroups and in (ordered) $\Gamma$-semigroups. In 1981, Sen [8] has introduced the concept of the $\Gamma$-semigroups. We can see that any semigroup can be considered as a $\Gamma$-semigroup. The concept of ordered ideal extensions in ordered $\Gamma$-semigroups was introduced in 2007 by Siripitukdet and Iampan [12]. Our purpose in this paper is to introduce the concepts of the ordered n-prime ideals and the ordered n-semiprime ideals in ordered $\Gamma$-semigroups and to characterize the relationship between the ordered n-prime ideals and the ordered ideal extensions in ordered $\Gamma$-semigroups.

  • In this paper, we introduce a new notion which we call a generalized weakly ideal. We also investigate characterizations of strongly regular rings with the condition that every maximal left ideal is a generalized weakly ideal. It is proved that R is a strongly regular ring if and only if R is a left GP-V-ring whose every maximal left (right) ideal is a generalized weakly ideal. Furthermore, if R is a left SGPF ring, and every maximal left (right) ideal is a generalized weakly ideal, it is shown that R/J(R) is strongly regular. Several known results are improved and extended.

  • Each stylistic period through history has its own unique look. The characteristic look of each period is completed and visualized with its prevailing ideologies, aesthetic consciousness and morality by means of 'form'. A period expresses its characteristics in accordance with form according to the widespread preferences of the time. Among the various cultural factors that form the look of the time, those that the period holds as ideal aesthetic values create the concept of 'ideal beauty' for that period. This study begins by establishing the conceptual definition of 'ideal beauty' and develops the premise that dress reflected ideal beauty. To attain the goal of the study, the selected objects are dresses represented in paintings, the actual garments from the Renaissance to Baroque periods and written references about art, art history, and history of costume. The results, based upon a theoretical study of the zeitgeist and aesthetic values of the 16th and 17th centuries, are as follows: first, ideal beauty influences the substance and form that constitute dress style. It is a byproduct of the spirit of time, the zeitgeist. The concept of ideal beauty is born within the lifestyle pursued by the ruling class and focuses on the body as an epitome of beauty, moral values, custom, lifestyle and taste as it becomes visualized via form. Second, the aspect of dress representing the ideal beauty of particular time varied according to the times. In both periods, power and dignity were used to achieve the ideal aesthetic values. In the Renaissance, power was expressed by the horizontal extension of dress (i.e. wide farthingales and sleeves) and in the Baroque period, by vertical extension (i.e. long and tall wigs, fontanges and trains). It can be said that fashion in both periods achieved an ideal, such as power and dignity, via the same means, by extending dress sizes, but the ways in which those ideals were portrayed in each period's dress yielded very contrary styles. It is understood through this study that ideal beauty influenced the dress style of the Renaissance and Baroque periods and played a decisive role in determining its forms and symbolic meanings.

  • This study develops an the ideal portrait of a human being pursuing in home economics education from a critical science perspective. The practical problem is 'what should the ideal portrait of a human being pursuing in home economics education with a critical science perspective be?' was addressed through a practical reasoning research method with the stages of valued ends, context, alternatives, consequence, and a final plan. The sequential flow of understanding values and contexts established the setting of three valued ends by organizing issues and categorized areas of individuals, families, society, and cultural from a critical science perspective. The ideal portrait of human being was specifically stated, in the self-formation, independent, inter-subjectivity, social participation, and enculturation according to subcategories; in addition, the stated ideal portrait of human being was modified through expert consultations. Alternatives and consequences were reexamined for the validity of the statement and restated as a comprehensive statement of ideal portrait of a human being that included a restatement of the five areas. An ideal portrait of a human being pursuing in home economics education from a critical science perspective was made from alternative ideal portraits of the proposed human being and stated as 'a person who can continually act autonomously in one's life-world.'

  • The purpose of the study was to investigate the body cathexis, ideal body shape, clothing satisfaction and their interrelationships. The subjects were 445 middle- and high- school girls. The findings were as follows : the subjects were more satisfied with their face appearance than body parts. They were very unsatisfied with thigh. leg and weight. Generally they were more satisfied with upper body than lower body, and more satisfied with length measurements than girth measurements. They accepted 169.19cm as ideal height and 49.18kg as ideal weight. The middle-school girls wanted to be taller than high-school girls by 3cm. But the ideal weight of both were almost same. The Rohrer indices indicated that the subjects were normal to slender type. But the Rohrer indices calculated using ideal height and ideal weight showed that the subjects thought extremely slender type as ideal body shape. The attitude of body was evaluated by two factors. the awareness of body shape and the physical attractiveness. The awareness of body shape was deeply influenced by girth measurements and lower body parts. And physical attractiveness was severely affected by face appearance. Weight was more important than height in regard to body cathexis. The ideal body shape was independent of individual situation but was formed by social value. The satisfaction of clothing in terms of design related aspects was influenced by body cathexis. Also the more satisfied with their body. the more they felt comfortable for their clothing. The body cathexis was interrelated with the satisfaction of clothing in some aspects.
