Robust $H{\infty}$ Control Using Sliding Mode and LMI (슬라이딩모드와 LMI를 이용한 강인 $H{\infty}$ 제어)

  • [ $H{\infty}$ ] controller, which shows robustness for disturbances and noises, can not be used in the case of uncertain system parameters. Even if the $H{\infty}$ controller can be designed for the parameter uncertain system, its performance can be deteriorated. Therefore, in this paper, the robustness of $H{\infty}$ controller is improved by using the SMC(Sliding Mode Control). The LMI based $H{\infty}$ controller is designed first and then SMC controller is added.

  • In this paper a novel sliding mode control is proposed by using $H_2/H_{\infty}$ controller. this technique is constructed based on the augmented system with a virtual state and make it has the dynamics of the original system and then $H_2/H_{\infty}$ controller has robust characteristics of sliding mode control for existing parameter uncertainty. The reaching phase is excluded by setting initial virtual state value appropriately.

  • In the industrial motor drive systems, a torsional vibration is often generated because of the elastic elements in torque transmission. One of general methods for the system is H$\infty$ controller to suppress the torsional vibration and reject the torque disturbance. vibration and reject the torque disturbance. Moreover, the two-degrees-of-freedom controller, which includes the H$\infty$ controller, is designed in order to improve the command following property. In this paper, we propose a new H$\infty$ controller with partial state feedback. This method having simple structure satisfies with the fast command following property and the attenuation of disturbances and vibrations simultaneously, just like the complicated TDOF H$\infty$ controller

Comparison Study of H-infinity Controller Design Algorithms for Spacecraft Attitude Control (인공위성 자세제어를 위한 H-infinity 제어기 설계 알고리즘 비교 연구)

  • There are three kinds of algorithms(2-ARE, mu-synthesis, LMI) for controller design using closed-loop shaping method. This paper provides the summary of background theory of three algorithms and $H_{\infty}$ controller design results for spacecraft attitude control using the three controller design tools of Matlab$^{TM}$ Toolbox for comparison. As a result, it reveals that LMI design method is more reliable as well as easier than others for spacecraft attitude control design. Comparison results are as follow: 2-ARE method and LMI method provide almost same results in robust stability, robust performance and control authority level. But 2-ARE method is more sensitive than LMI method with respect to proper design of weighting functions: 2-ARE method is more difficult than LMI method in weighting function design. The design result of mu-synthesis method shows worse performance and requires bigger control authority than others.

  • This paper describes the vibration control of a cantilever beam that is reformulated as the sensitivity minimization problem and solved in H$_{\infty}$ controller that is studied widely nowadays. The result of suggested controller is compared with that special form of H$_{2}$ controller, i.e., LQG. Piezoelectric actuator is chosen and disturbance is applied in the form of base excitation to match real aeronautical problems. Simulations are given, whose results reveals the performance of suggested controller is better than LQG in many cases.

  • This paper presents the design technique for controlling the oscillation in the Disk Drive Read System via Derivative State Constrained (DSC)-Optimal $H_2$ Controller. The Optimal $H_2$, DSC-Optimal $H_2$ and Incorporating of Stability Degree Specification DSC Optimal $H_2$ are discussed. The results among these schemes are compared to verify the merit of DSC that effectively suppresses the oscillation in oscillatory system. The suggestions of how to select the weights of optimal controls are given.

  • The aim of this paper is to analyze via computer simulation the robust performance of TDF(Two Degree of Freedom) H.$_{\infty}$ controller for uncertain systems having parameter uncertainty. We apply the TDF H$_{\infty}$ controller to autopilot design. We evaluate the robust performance of the TDF H$_{\infty}$ controller for uncertain systems and present the guaranteed bound of robust performance via computer simulation.on.

  • In this paper, an attempt has been made to design the controller applicable for H.264 level3 encoder of baseline profile on full hardware basis. The designed controller module first stores the images supplied from CMOS Image Sensor(CIS) at main memory, and then reads or stores the image data in macroblock unit according to encoder operation. The timing cycle of the DMA controller required to process a macroblock is 478 cycles. In order to verify the our design, reference-C encoder, which is compatible to JM 9.4, is developed and the designed controller is verified by using the test vector generated from the reference C code. The number of cycle in the designed DMA controller is reduced by 40% compared with the cycle of using Xilinx MIG.

H^$\infty$ Controller Design Based on NLCF Models: A Unified Approach for Continuous and Discrete Systems

  • In this paper, a unified approach to the H\ulcorner controller design is proposed under the $\delta$-form for both continuous and discrete systems. Most of important basic concepts of H\ulcorner control, such as inner, co-inner, GCARE and GFARE, are reformulated by the unified form. The NLCF(Normalized left Comprime Factor) plant description has been reviewed in the $\delta$-form, and some corresponding results are proposed. And the unified H\ulcorner controller is designed which is based on the McFarlane and Glover{1]. The state-space parameterization for all suboptimal controllers is given under the NLCF model which may not be strictly proper, and the central controller is derived by using the solution to Hankel norm approximation problem[2]. The unified controller is applied to the industrial boiler control problem to exemplify the performance of the controller.
