CFD를 이용한 천음속 날개-동체 형상 해석 (Numerical Simulation for Transonic Wing-Body Configuration using CFD)

  • 본 연구에서는 전산유체역학의 특징에 대한 이해를 위해 천음속 날개-동체 주위의 유동장을 In-house 전산유체 코드로 해석하여 시험 결과와 비교하였다. 날개는 RAE 101 익형 단면을 가진 RAE Wing 'A'이며 동체는 축대칭 형상이다. In-house 코드는 비정렬 격자 기반의 압축성 Euler/Navier-Stokes 해석 코드이다. 격자에 대한 의존도, 난류 모형, 공간차분 기법, 점성/비점성의 영향을 시험 결과와 비교하여 살펴보았다. 난류 모형은 $k-{\omega}$ 모형, Spalart-Allmaras 모형, $k-{\omega}$ SST을 적용하였고, 공간차분 기법은 Jameson의 인공 점성를 도입한 중앙 차분 기법과 Roe의 풍상 차분 기법을 적용하였다. 대체적으로 시험 결과를 잘 예측하였으나, 압력분포 및 충격파의 위치가 난류 모형 및 공간 차분 기법에 따라 조금씩 다르게 예측되었으며, 정확한 충격파 위치를 예측하기 위해서는 난류 점성 효과가 고려되어야 함을 알 수 있다.

랜덤진동환경에서 솔더접합부의 인쇄회로기판내 위치에 따른 내구수명 변화 연구 (Location-dependent Reliability of Solder Interconnection on Printed Circuit Board in Random Vibration Environment)

  • 인쇄회로기판 위에 9개의 PBGA (Plastic Ball Grid Array) 패키지를 SnPb 솔더로 실장하여 진동시편을 제작하고 랜덤진동시험을 수행하였다. 진동에 대한 각 패키지 솔더의 내구수명을 분석한 결과, 패키지의 인쇄회로기판 배치 위치에 따라 솔더의 내구수명이 결정됨을 보였다. 이 위치에 따른 내구수명 의존성을 규명하기 위하여 유한요소모델을 작성하고, 모델의 모든 요소에 대해서 응력응답함수로부터 정의되는 등가응력을 분석하였다. 분석결과로부터 랜덤진동시험에서 패키지를 연결하는 솔더 중 코너에 위치한 솔더에서 최대 등가응력이 발생함을 보였다. 마지막으로, 각 패키지별 코너 솔더의 최대 등가응력값을 파괴등가응력으로 정의하고 파괴등가응력과 각 패키지의 내구수명간에 직접적인 연관관계가 있음을 제시하였다.

냉동 물류 창고 내 도크시스템을 통한 에너지 손실량 분석 (Analysis of Amount of Energy Loss for a Dock System in the Cold Distribution Center)

  • In this study, energy loss due to ventilation load in the dock system was analyzed through simulation. Also, flow generated in the dock system of the warehouse was measured using manufactured measuring devices. Numerical simulation was conducted by simulating the most common picking tasks by examining the actual working environment. Incompressible and unsteady turbulent flows were assumed, and the turbulence model was the k-e standard model. Proper grid was selected through grid dependency test. Measurement was conducted using Honeywell and Vaisala sensors, and flow and temperature inside the warehouse were measured and compared with simulation results to validate simulation. When comparing amount of loss occurring in two hours and amount of loss occurring in 15 minutes, docking time of the former was eight times longer but energy loss was 3.8 times lower. Ventilation load occurring during the initial period after opening docking system accounted for a large proportion of total ventilation load. Also, comparing the load when the dock was closed and the load when the truck was parked, ventilation load was significantly higher than load due to heat conduction from the wall. Therefore, in improving the docking system, it is effective to reduce the gap by improving compatibility of the docking system and truck, rather than wall material.

다중블럭계산에 의한 분사기 오리피스 유동특성 해석 (Numerical study on the characteristics of the flow through injector orifice by multi-block computations)

  • Numerical computations were conducted to characterize the three-dimensional laminar flow through an injector orifice having an inclined angle of 30 .deg.. For this study, the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations in generalized curvilinear coordinates, using a pseudocompressibility approach for continuity equation, were solved. The computations were performed using the finite difference implicit, approximately factored scheme of Beam and Warming and multi-block grids of complete continuity at block interfaces. The multi-block computations were validated for the steady state using direct comparison of multi-block solutions with equivalent single-block ones, including 2-D 180.deg. TAD and 3-D 90.deg. pipe bend. The comparisons between the numerical solutions and the flow field measurements for a tube with sudden contraction were presented in this work for solution validation. Computational results showed the nature of complex flow fields within the inclined injector orifice, including strong pressure-driven secondary flows in the cross stream induced by the effect of streamline curvature. In addition, asymmetric secondary flows were induced in the Reynolds number range above assumed laminar flow regime considered. However, turbulence calculations and grid dependency studies are needed for more accurate computations.

Sea State Hindcast for the Korean Seas With a Spectral Wave Model and Validation with Buoy Observation During January 1997

  • The state-of-art third generation wave prediction model WAM was applied to the Korean seas for a winter monsoon period of January 1997. The wind field used in the present study is the global NSCAT-ERS/NCEP blended winds, which was further interpolated using a bi-cubic spline interpolator to fine grid limited area shallow water regime surrounding the Korean seas. To evaluate and investigate the accuracy of WAM, the hindcasted wave heights are compared with observed data from two shallow water buoys off Chil-Bal and Duk-Juk. A detailed study has been carried with the various meteorological parameters in observed buoy data and its inter-dependency on model computed wave fields was also investigated. The RMS error between the observation and model computed wave heights results to 0.489 for Chil-Bal and 0.417 for Duk-Juk. A similar comparison between the observation and interpolated winds off Duk-Juk show RMS error of 2.28 which suggest a good estimate for wave modelling studies.

Numerical simulation of wave and current interaction with a fixed offshore substructure

  • Offshore substructures have been developed to support structures against complex offshore environments. The load at offshore substructures is dominated by waves, and deformation of waves caused by interactions with the current is an important phenomena. Wave load simulation of fixed offshore substructures in waves with the presence of uniform current was carried out by numerical wave tank technique using the commercial software, FLUENT. The continuity and Navier-Stokes equations were applied as the governing equations for incompressible fluid motion, and numerical wavemaker was employed to reproduce offshore wave environment. Convergence test against grids number was carried out to investigate grid dependency and optimized conditions for numerical wave generation were derived including investigation of the damping effect against length of the damping domain. Numerical simulation of wave and current interactions with fixed offshore substructure was carried out by computational fluid dynamics, and comparison with other experiments and simulations results was conducted.

CLSVOF과 가상압축성 기법을 이용한 비압축성 2상 유동 수치해석 검증 연구 (A Numerical Validation for Incompressible Two-phase Flow using CLSVOF and Artificial Compressibility Methods)

  • 액체-기체의 2상 유동에 대한 수치해석 기법을 연구하였다. 비압축성 방정식에는 가상 압축성 기법을 적용하였으며 LS와 VOF를 합친 CLSVOF 기법을 적용하여 액체-기체 경계면을 추적하였다. CLSVOF의 격자 의존도를 파악하기 위해 h=1/64, 1/128, 1/128, 그리고 1/160의 격자로 Zalesak's disk 문제와 액체의 3차원 변형 문제의 수치해석을 실시했으며 격자가 최대 보존 오차에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 비압축성 2상 유동 방정식을 적용하여 Rayleigh-Taylor 불안정성에 대한 수치해석을 실시하였고 밀도 차에 의한 액체 표면 불안정성이 나타난다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

유동상사를 이용한 10인치 볼밸브 내부유동 분석 (Internal Flow Analysis for a 10 inch Ball Valve using Flow Similarity)

  • Flow characteristics inside a 10 inch ball valve have been analyzed using three-dimensional numerical analysis and experiments. Continuity and three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations have been used as governing equations for the numerical analysis. The numerical model has been constructed through the grid dependency test and validation with the results of experiments to ensure reliability and numerical effectiveness. The shear stress transport (SST) model has been used as the turbulence closure. The experimental test-rig has been constructed to measure pressure, temperature and flow rate along the pipeline. Some valve opening angles have been tested to evaluate the flow characteristics inside the ball valve and pipeline. The results show that the rapid pressure variations is observed while the valve opening angle decreases, which caused by flow separation at the downstream of the ball valve.

M형 CIP법을 이용한 3차원 음장해석에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Three-Dimension Acoustic Field Analysis using the Type-M CIP Method)

  • 본 연구에서는 유체역학 분야의 Yabe 박사 팀에 의해 제안된 CIP법을 이용한 3차원 시간영역 음장해석법의 정밀도에 대해서 자세한 검토를 하였다. 즉, 3차원 CIP 음장해석의 위상오차의 특성과 전파방향에 따른 오차를 명확히 하고, 본 수치 해석법의 유효성을 나타내었다. 다차원 CIP법으로는 M형, C형, A형이 있지만, 본 논문에서는 M형 CIP법을 이용한 음장해석의 정밀도에 대해 검토하였다. 또, 종래의 수치해석법으로 staggered-grid 모델을 이용한 FDTD법에 따른 계산결과와의 비교 검토를 하였다. 본 논문의 검토에 의해 같은 이산화조건에서는 CIP법이 FDTD법보다 해석법이 가진 분산성이 적고, CIP법으로 계산된 음압 파형이 FDTD법으로 계산된 음압 파형보다 변형이 적은 것을 알 수 있었다.

고속 상륙돌격장갑차의 저항 및 추진 성능에 관한 수치 분석 (Numerical Analysis on the Resistance and Propulsion Performances of High-Speed Amphibious Assault Vehicles)

  • The hydrodynamic characteristics of amphibious assault vehicles are investigated using commercial CFD code, STAR-CCM+. Resistance performances of a displacement-type vehicle and a semi-planing type vehicle are analyzed in calm water. The self-propelled model is also computed for the semi-planing type vehicle. All computations are performed using an overset mesh system and a RANS based flow-solver coupled with a two-degree of freedom equations of motion. A moving reference frame is applied to simulate revolutions of impeller blades for a waterjet propulsion system. Grid dependency tests are performed to evaluate discretization errors for the mesh systems. The numerical analysis results are compared with the experimental results obtained from model tests. It is shown that RANS is capable of investigating the resistance and self-propulsion characteristics of high-speed amphibious assault vehicles. It is also found that a fully covered side skirt, which is covering tracks, reduces resistance and stern trim, besides increasing propulsive efficiency.
