As a response to the recent increase in the Interest in environment friendly interior finishing materials, the purpose of this study is to compare the awareness of environment friendly interior finishing materials between interior designers and housewives, as representatives of two different consumer groups, and to examine how the preferences between them differ. The study participant group for this research consisted of 80 interior designers working in Gwangju, and 166 housewives who were residents of a number of apartments in Gwangju. Self administered questionnaires were provided to the participants and were then collected. Unpaired t-tests and $x^2$ tests were used to compare the prevalence of epidemiological factors and the variables that revealthe awareness and the preference between the two groups. While it was expected that both groups would source information using the internet, the housewives group showed a tendency to also seek advice from others in the selection of environment friendly interior finishing materials. Interior-designers considered the high price and the lack of diverse products as the most serious problems involved in selecting environment friendly interior finishing materials. Interior-designers chose design, color and long-term use, and the method of maintenance as standards by which to choose interior materials in general, while the housewives considered 'environment friendly' as the most important standard. Both groups however favored environment friendly materials. There was no difference between the two groups in terms of their belief in the need to trust a well known brand name and in the importance of a Green-label placed on interior finishing materials such as wallpaper, paint and laminate flooring.
The purpose of this paper is to analyze the Japanese emission trading system and climate change policy thereby contributing to the instituting of similar systems that will be viable for the Korean context. In applying such analyses, it is important to include a careful consideration of cost sharing between stakeholders and firms, an enhancement of the trust worthiness of data concerning greenhouse gases, and an examination of related infrastructure such as emissions authentication agencies and their development. Moreover, it is important to minimize the outflow of domestic resources such as offset credit, green electricity certification system, and ecopoint, making compatible economic growth and carbon reduction thereby encouraging the production and dissemination of 'Environmental Value' as well as connecting 'Environmental Value' to a emission trading system.

The purpose of this research is to suggest directions for urban planning and policies for the creation of a happy urban environment. To achieve this objective, this study extracted the urban environment characteristic elements that were expected to affect the levels of individual happiness and empirically analyzed the factors that affect the happiness levels of people. To determine the elements of the urban environment, this research analyzed the variables, urban environment characteristics, such as physical environment, natural environment, social environment, and individual characteristics. Regarding the physical environment of the city, a lower population density and a higher level of walking environment satisfaction showed a high level of individual happiness. In terms of the natural environment of the city, more spacious park areas and higher green area satisfaction showed a high level of individual happiness. Finally, regarding the social environment of the city, social trust was found to affect the happiness levels.
The objective of this paper is to elicit some policy implications to promote agroforestry in South Korea from the consumers' perspective. We conducted internet survey to 640 urban households about the recognition of forest farming products. Consumers purchased forest farming products for their nutrition, medical function, and safety and regarded them as higher quality than crops cultivated from agricultural land. Consumers preferred forest farming products but revealed no difference in recognition of naturally-grown products. Consumers buying forest products prioritize the quality and medical function among attributes. Among consumers as their income increases, they regard naturally grown products more important than price and freshness. Therefore, to promote agroforestry in South Korea, certification for naturally-grown products to win the consumers' trust and the $6^{th}$ industrialization by combining experience and green tourism program must be considered.

Green economy, also known as sustainable economy, is a current development trend in which consumers prefer products that are wholly or partly derived from materials of biological origin since they have become more concerned about their health and the environment in which they live. This study aims to examine consumer behavior toward bio-based products with three key goals in mind. First, it helps to understand the perception of consumers toward Bio-based products. Second, it properly helps consumers be aware of products derived from materials of biological origin so that the consumer can make purchasing decisions to protect their health and contribute to the protection of the environment. Third, the study on consumer behavior towards bio-based products will provide a more accurate view and assessment to companies looking to develop Bio-based products. Based on that, the research is carried out through surveying, collecting data from consumers, and then using the deductive approach, descriptive statistics, and quantitative method analysis. The results demonstrated that a positive relationship and a direct impact are established between the variables of Attitude and Social Norms and the Purchase Intention toward Bio-based products. Furthermore, the findings reveal that customers have positive feelings towards bio-based products in terms of trust, knowledge, and the environment.

After the introduction of the central bus lane system, bus traffic was prioritized. This resulted in improved trust from bus users. However, the low capacity at the central bus stop reduces traffic speed and punctuality. In addition, physical constraints are inevitable because the construction of central bus lanes and bus stops considers the city's road geometry. Therefore, this study attempted to optimize the effective green time of the traffic signal system at the entrance and exit of the central bus stop to remedy its insufficient operational capacity. The Transit Capacity and Quality of Service Manual and Korea Highway Capacity Manual were used as the analysis methodologies. The number of stop areas for central bus stops to be built was determined by excluding variable physical factors, and field survey data collected from nine randomly selected central bus stops currently installed in Seoul were used. A scenario analysis was conducted on the central bus stops with insufficient capacity by adjusting the effective green time, and the capacity of the central bus stop was set as the dependent variable. According to the results, 26.7 percent of the central bus stops with insufficient capacity can solve the problem of insufficient capacity. Therefore, the results of this study can be verified by improving the operation level, and it can be effective even if the number of central bus stops calculated by engineering is not guaranteed during the planning stage of the central bus stop. As the number of central bus stops is expected to increase further as the number of central bus stops increases, it is necessary to improve the number of central bus stops. Therefore, it is hoped that the results presented in this study will be used as basic data for the improvement plan at the operational level before introducing the physical improvement plan.
Social, economic and environmental problems caused by rapid urbanization have been recently overcome by various civic participation projects. Local governance and resident - led partnership through field - based cooperative operating systems from urban regeneration to village projects are considered success factors. Among these, the village greening project which directly affects the residents and requires spontaneity requires the role and cooperation of the various participating actors due to the sharing of public space and private space. Social capital plays a key role in the sustainability and participation of the above - mentioned business as a relational capital centered on trust and participation, network and norms. Therefore, empirical research is needed. In this study, basic research was carried out to build a formation model of social capital in participation - type greening project expanding urban green space system to living area. We analyzed the elements of participation, the components of business progress, and the factors of social capital formation through literature review and in - depth interviews with participating experts. The purpose of this study is to provide basic data of social capital formation model for analyzing sustainability and activation strategies in the future.

In order to reduce the green-house gas exhaustion, International Maritime Organization (IMO) has been reinforcing carbon gas regulations. Due to the regulations, a lot of competitions for designing Eco ship in the shipbuilding industry are progressing now. It is faced with the necessity of reducing hull weight by combining automated systems for optimal compartment arrangement with hull structural design. Most researches on optimum structural design method have been consistently in progress and applied to minimize weight and cost of mid-ship section in preliminary ship design stage based on analytical structural analysis method on fixed compartment arrangement. In order to reduce design period and to improve international technical competitiveness by shortening the period of hull structural design and enhancing design accuracy, it has been felt necessity to combine optimized compartment arrangement with optimum design of ship structure based on the international regulations and rules. So in this study, the automated design algorithm for longitudinal members has been developed to combine automated algorithm of compartment arrangement with hull structural design system for oil tanker. The SeaTrust-Hullscan software developed by Korean Register is used to perform ship structural design for mother ship and selected design cases. The effect of weight reduction is verified with comparison of ship weight between mother ship and the cases suggested in this study.

The purpose of this study is to perform a gap analysis between public-private partnership urban parks of Korea currently in their initial stage and various foreign cases that have been established in terms of planning(formation of public-private partnership${\rightarrow}$creation of parks${\rightarrow}$operation and management of parks) and to propose improvements for each process of planning. As a result of the gap analysis on domestic and foreign public-private partnership urban parks, the future course to be followed by urban Korean parks can be summarized as follows. First, if the public-private urban parks that exist at present were led by a single or small number of partners centered on local government entities, urban parks from that point on must be created and managed based on efficient multi-sector partnerships. Since urban parks are public spaces where public benefit is more important than profit, diverse voices of public-private sectors must be reflected with a long-term perspective. Second, urban parks are not a place to be completed but a public space which continues to develop. Therefore, they must be approached with a focus on the process instead of the result. The existing concept of domestic public-private partnership is inclined to creation of urban parks. This suggests than the government had been focusing only on quantitative increase in urban parks. In order to create values as a public space for local communities, public-private partnership is also required in operation and management of urban parks. Third, public-private partnership management of urban parks can become more effective through active community participation. Participation by local communities takes long time because transition in the consciousness about values of urban parks must be presumed. Thus in Korea, non-profit organization like Seoul Green Trust should accumulate successful creation and management of small and large urban parks through public-private partnership will settle in our nation.

Consumer organizations usually lead the opinions of the consumers. This study was performed to investigate the perceptions and information needs of consumer organizations on food additives for the promotion of risk communication. A survey was conducted for 4 weeks in March 2012 by using a self-administered questionnaire consisting of 32 questions. Total 111 responses were collected for analysis. 'Safety (91.0%)' was the most important factor influencing the purchase of processed food, and both 'food additives (24.3%)' and 'environmental pollution (23.4%)' were considered as main risk factors. The longer the career of the members had, the higher negative perceptions on food additives (p<0.01). About 70% of the respondents who had known KFDA's researches on evaluating safety of food additives answered that researches were not enough to make sure the safety. Although lectures and other domestic organization were the main channels for getting information, 'TV' was considered as the most suitable way for it. 'Poor risk communication (32.4%)' was pointed out as the serious problem of government's food safety policy. Based on these results, consumer organizations' low level of trust on government should be overcome by continuous supply of information what they need to facilitate risk communication on food additives.
