대형발전기 고정자권선 절연재료의 열 사이클에 의한 열화에 관한 연구 (A study on the heat cycle aging of insulation materials in large generator stator windings)

  • Heat cycle aging of insulating materials in large generator stator winding has been investigated using both on-line and off-line test methods. On this study, principally, off-line test against actual generator in service was carried out to acquire information about polarization index(PI) and dissipation factor, dissipation factor tip-up, maximum partial discharge for the purpose of remnant breakdown voltage and life assessment. It was found from the tests that both dissipation factor and maximum partial discharge decreased with the increase of operating hours and starting numbers. It was found from off-line tests that the remnant breakdown voltage had a strong relationship with both dissipation factor and maximum partial discharge the remnant breakdown voltage as a results of both operating hours and starting number and the nondestructive tests were proposed as parameters which can predict the remnant lifetime of insulating materials in large generator stator windings.   • This paper describes the relationship between the various non-destructive parameters and the breakdown voltage for the 17 kV, 300 MVA and the 22 kV, 500 MVA generators stator bars with polyester and epoxy/mica insulation respectively. Also, this study reports the results of an investigation into the factors which can assess the insulation condition of generator stator winding. Furthermore, a new parameter, Partial Discharge Index(PDI), is introduced as the valuable parameter for the assessment of insulation condition. The ratio between partial discharge increment and the stepwise voltage increment from the Discharge Inception Voltage (DIV) at the characteristic or resonant frequency band shows the close relationship between the breakdown voltage and PDI.

  • The generator on-line diagnosis system has been developed. This system monitor the insulation condition of stator winding by on-line measurements of partial discharge and the shorted-turn condition of rotor winding by on-line measurements of slot leakage flux. Sensor, such as SSC(Stator Slot Coupler) and flux probe are used for generator on-line diagnosis.

  • The measurements were performed to assess the insulation deterioration condition of the stator winding of Dae-Cheong hydro-generator ${\sharp}2$ which had been in service after being constructed 1980. After repair of the stator winding insulation. we conducted insulation diagnostic tests which include resistance, polarization index(P. I). AC current, dissipation factor($Tan{\delta}$) and partial discharges ($Q_{max}$). The results of diagnostic tests were compared to the previous records. On the basis of these test results. this paper tried to present the importance of insulation repair for the generator stator winding.

  • 최근에 신뢰성 있는 전력공급의 중요성이 증가하고 있다. 이에 따라 전력기기 진단의 중요성 역시 증가하고 있다. 산업설비로 많이 사용되는 고압 회전기는 장기간 사용함에 따라 고정자 권선 절연부분이 열화되어 예상치 못한 절연파괴 사고로 많은 손실을 일으킨다. 이를 진단하기 위하여 고압 회전기 고정자 권선에 접촉식 Capacitive Coupler를 설치하고 부분방전 신호를 계측하여 유지 보수하는 것이 가장 넓게 사용되고 있다. 하지만 현장에서 부분방전 계측 시 노이즈가 혼재된다면 정밀한 부분방전 신호를 계측하는 것이 불가능해진다. 본 논문에서는 국내 수력발전소 중 25년 이상 가동 중인 13[kV]급 수력발전기 고정자 권선에서 160[pF] 용량의 접촉식 Capacitive Coupler를 이용하여 취득한 계측신호를 분석하여 기존 하드웨어적으로만 노이즈를 제거하여도 잔존하는 노이즈를 제거하기 위해 소프트웨어적인 주변신호원과의 관계를 고려한 노이즈제거 기법을 제안하였다.

  • The monitoring and assessment on the insulation condition of generator stator windings have been an important task of utility companies. The interest for the assessment of insulation condition has been increasing due to the need to keep old generating equipment reliable in order to extend the equipment life and to increase the generating capacity. Even though many developments and research activities for the condition assessment of generator insulation have been performed for decades, the assessment criterion in order to consistently predict the actual insulation condition is still in question. In this paper, the correlation between the parameters and the insulation condition is analyzed through the various non-destructive diagnostic tests in order to establish the assessment criterion on insulation deterioration of generator stator windings. By analyzing the correlation, PDI(Partial Discharge Index) as a novel parameter for the assessment criterion on insulation diagnosis of stator winding is proposed and verified.

  • Stator winding of hydro generator is gradually deteriorated by multi-stress and steady degradation of insulation results in insulation breakdown. The region where insulation breakdown occurs in stator winding is part where the multi-stress causes the defect of insulation material and electrical stress has been concentrated. Therefore, we judged locations of insulation breakdown to be varied according to various stress factors in service. In this paper, we drew the stator winding of hydro generators which has run for a long time and separated it into 3 parts(central part, end winding part, drawing part) according to the positions laid on the core. We performed electrical and thermal stress on these specimens for 1000 hrs under the same condition, measured the condition regularlyand analyzed the insulation status of each winding by performing partial discharge test. In addition, we analyzed the trend of partial discharge concerning specimens that caused the insulation breakdown during aging.

  • The solid insulation system of stator windings in high voltage rotational machines is usually aging in accordance with long time operation. The partial discharge test have been known to check whether insulation deterioration exist or not, and the PD test can effectively diagnose a solid insulation condition regardless of during operation(on-line) or not(off-line). The on-line PD measurement have proven to be a successful technique in monitoring stator insulation condition nowadays. This paper describes the characteristics of comparing the on-line PD measurement data using PDMS-HG(Partial Discharge Monitoring System for Hydro-electric Generator) installed in field with the off-line diagnosis measurement data(insulation resistance, winding resistance, PI, ${\Delta}tan{\delta}$ and PD) on hydro generator(13[kV]) stator windings. These results make good use of managing rotational machines through evaluating the solid insulation condition of stator windings.

  • Power generator is one of the most important component of electricity generation system to convert mechanical energy to electrical energy. I t designed robustly to maintain high system reliability during operation time. But unexpected failure of the power generator could happen and it cause huge amount of economic and social loss. To keep it from unexpected failure, health prognostics should be carried out In this research, We developed a health prognostic method of stator windings in power generator with statistical data analysis and degradation modeling against water absorption. We divided whole 42 windings into two groups, absorption suspected group and normal group. We built a degradation model of absorption suspected winding using Fick's second law to predict upcoming absorption data. Through the analysis of data of normal group, we could figure out the distribution of data of normal windings. After that, we can properly predict absorption data of normal windings. With data prediction of two groups, we derived upcoming Directional Mahalanobis Distance (DMD) of absorption suspected winding and time vs DMD curve. Finally we drew the probability distribution of Remaining Useful Life of absorption suspected windings.
