Wind forces on structures are usually schematized by the sum of their mean static part and a nil mean fluctuation generally treated as a stationary process randomly varying in space and time. The multi-variate and multi-dimensional nature of such a process requires a considerable quantity of numerical procedures to carry out the dynamic analysis of the structural response. With the aim of drastically reducing the above computational burden, this paper introduces a method by means of which the external fluctuating wind forces on slender structures and structural elements are schematized by an equivalent process identically coherent in space. This process is identified by a power spectral density function, called the Generalized Equivalent Spectrum, whose expression is given in closed form.
The aim of this paper is to introduce and study the sequence spaces [w, ${\theta}$, F, p, q]$_{\infty}({\Delta}_{\upsilon}^m)$, [w, ${\theta}$, F, p, q]$_1({\Delta}_{\upsilon}^m)$ and [w, ${\theta}$, F, p, q]$_0({\Delta}_{\upsilon}^m)$, which arise from the notions of generalized difference sequence space, lacunary convergence, invariant mean and a sequence of Moduli $F=(f_k)$. We establish some inclusion relations between these spaces under some conditions.
Plant monitoring algorithm developments seem to be saturated which means that display system to show the results from the algorithm should be the well-defined and interactive tools for operator's diagnosing, controlling, restoring the abnormal plant situations. On the other hand, very little generalized display design concepts and evaluations are available. Events that are unfamiliar to operators and that has not been anticipated by designers may cause great threats to the nuclear power plant system safety operation. The abstraction hierarchy, considered most popular display design methodology but not generalized for nuclear power plant design space, has ken proposed as a representation frame work that can be adopted to design interfaces and supports operators in diagnosing overlooked events that should have been considered to operate plant safely. However most practical plant display systems do not fully stick to this design concept but partially rely on their philosophy from design experiences. Abstraction hierarchy display design concept will be do scribed and the trend of Advanced Control Room(ACR) CRT design will also be presented with the conventional display for the several type of plants. Consequently this complementary material should be of interest to designer and regulators concerned with nuclear power plant.

The semi-convexity for planar shapes has been recently introduced in [2]. As a generalization of the convextiy, semi-convexity is closed under the Minkowski sum. But the definition of semi-convexity requires that the shape boundary should satifisfy a differentiability condition $C^{1:1}$, which means that it should be possible to take the normal vector field along the domain's extended boundary. In view of the fact that the semi-convextiy is a most natural generalization of the convexity in many respects, this is a severe restriction for the semi-convexity, since the convexity requires no such a priori differentiability condition. In this paper, we generalize the semi-convexity to the closure of the class of semi-convex $\mathcal{M}$-domains for any Minkowski class $\mathcal{M}$, and show that this generalized semi-convexity is also closed under Minkowski sum.
We estimate the essential norms of Volterra-type integral operators $V_g$ and $I_g$, and multiplication operators $M_g$ with holomorphic symbols g on a large class of generalized Fock spaces on the complex plane ${\mathbb{C}}$. The weights defining these spaces are radial and subjected to a mild smoothness conditions. In addition, we assume that the weights decay faster than the classical Gaussian weight. Our main result estimates the essential norms of $V_g$ in terms of an asymptotic upper bound of a quantity involving the inducing symbol g and the weight function, while the essential norms of $M_g$ and $I_g$ are shown to be comparable to their operator norms. As a means to prove our main results, we first characterized the compact composition operators acting on the spaces which is interest of its own.

In this study, flood records from 79 sites across Thailand were analyzed to estimate flood indices using the regional frequency analysis based on the L-moments method. Observation sites were grouped into homogeneous regions using k-means and Ward's clustering techniques. Among various distributions evaluated, the generalized extreme value distribution emerged as the most appropriate for certain regions. Regional growth curves were subsequently established for each delineated region. Furthermore, 20- and 100-year return values were derived to illustrate the recurrence intervals of maximum rainfall across Thailand. The predicted return values tend to increase at each site, which is associated with growth curves that could describe an increasing long-term predictive pattern. The findings of this study hold significant implications for water management strategies and the design of flood mitigation structures in the country.

The prediction of the inelastic behavior of the structure is an essential part of reliability assessment procedure, because most of the failures are induced by the inelastic deformation, such as creep and plastic deformation. During decades, there has been much progress in understanding of the inelastic behavior of the materials and a lot of inelastic constitutive equations have been developed. These equations consist of the definition of inelastic strain and the evolution of the state variables introduced to quantify the irreversible processes occurred in the material. With respect to the definition of the inelastic strain, the inelastic constitutive models can be categorized into elastoplastic model, unified viscoplastic model and separated viscoplastic model and the different integration methods have been applied to each category. In the present investigation, the generalized integration method applicable for various types of constitutive equations is developed and implemented into ABAQUS by means of UMAT subroutine. The solution of the non-linear system of algebraic equations arising from time discretization with the generalized midpoint rule is determined using line-search technique in combination with Newton method. The strategy to control the time increment for the improvement of the accuracy of the numerical integration is proposed. Several numerical examples are considered to demonstrate the efficiency and applicability of the present method. Attempts have been made to define new classes of distributions that provide more flexibility for modelling skewed data in practice. In this work we define a new extension of the generalized gamma distribution (Stacy, The Annals of Mathematical Statistics, 33, 1187-1192, 1962) for Marshall-Olkin generalized gamma (MOGG) distribution, based on the generator pioneered by Marshall and Olkin (Biometrika, 84, 641-652, 1997). This new lifetime model is very flexible including twenty one special models. The main advantage of the new family relies on the fact that practitioners will have a quite flexible distribution to fit real data from several fields, such as engineering, hydrology and survival analysis. Further, we also define a MOGG mixture model, a modification of the MOGG distribution for analyzing lifetime data in presence of cure fraction. This proposed model can be seen as a model of competing causes, where the parameter associated with the Marshall-Olkin distribution controls the activation mechanism of the latent risks (Cooner et al., Statistical Methods in Medical Research, 15, 307-324, 2006). The asymptotic properties of the maximum likelihood estimation approach of the parameters of the model are evaluated by means of simulation studies. The proposed distribution is fitted to two real data sets, one arising from measuring the strength of fibers and the other on melanoma data.
Abstract. In this paper, for $a{\in}C$, we investigate functions $g_a$ and ${\psi}_a$ associated with three term relations. $g_a$ is defined by means of function ${\psi}_a$. By using these functions, we obtain some functional equations related to the Eisenstein series and the Riemann zeta function. Also we find a generalized difference formula of function $g_a$.
This article is concerned with the intraclass correlation in survey sampling. From a design-based viewpoint the intraclass correlation is generalized to a finite population with unequal sized clusters. Under simple random cluster sampling the intraclass correlation is given in an explicit form, which is a generalization of the usual one. The range of it is found and the design effect is expressed by means of it. An example is given to compare the intraclass correlation with the homogeneity measure numerically, which shows that two measures are not the same except some limited cases.
