The problem of locating a periodically inserted frame synchronization pattern in random data for a binary pulse amplitude modulated (PAM) digital communication system over a additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN) channel with co-channel interference is considered. The performance degradation of frame synchronization for the correlation rule due to the presence of co-channel interference is shown. The maximum likelihood(ML) decision rule for the frame synchronization over an AWGN channel with co-channel interference is derived. For the entire range of SNR considered, the ML frame synchronization rule obtains about 1dB signal energy gain over the correlation rule. Specially, the ML rule obtains as much as 2dB gain over the correlation rule when the SNR is greater than 0dB.

In this paper, drain induced barrier lowering(DIBL) has been analyzed as one of short channel effects occurred in double gate(DG) MOSFET to be next-generation devices. Since Gaussian function been used as carrier distribution for solving Poisson's equation to obtain analytical solution of potential distribution, we expect our results using this model agree with experimental results. DIBL has been investigated according to projected range and standard projected deviation as variables of Gaussian function, and channel structure and channel doping intensity as device parameter. Since the validity of this analytical potential distribution model derived from Poisson's equation has already been proved in previous papers, DIBL has been analyzed using this model. Resultly, DIBL has been greatly changed for channel structure and doping concentration.

Dark channel prior means that, for undistorted outdoor images, at least one color channel of a pixel or its neighbors have values close to 0, and thus the prior can be used to estimate the amount of distortion for given distorted images. In other words, if an image is distorted by blur, its dark channel values are averaged with neighbor pixel values and thus increase. This paper proposes a method that estimates blur strengths by analyzing the variation of dark channel values caused by blur. Through experiments with images distorted by Gaussian and horizontal motion blur with given strengths, the usefulness of the proposed method is verified.
When a car accident happened on a highway, the accident vehicle should broadcast a safe message to its neighbors in order to prevent a chain-reaction collision. Also, there is a problem that the estimation accuracy is low because of the memory limit from increasing the sampling count. In this paper, we proposes a HVC systems using a back-off algorithm applied to a gaussian model. And we proposes a MAC protocol preventing the communication delay by separating the neighbor count collection channel, data channel, and RSU communication channel. As a result, we show the frame reception success rate of our protocol improved about 10% than the previous protocol.
A new power and bandwidth efficient modem technique-Correlative Encoded FSK (CEFSK) is proposed. CEFSK has a spectral efficiency comparable to Gaussian filtered FSK (GFSK), and it achieves 0.7db Eb/N0 improvement at bit error rate (BER) of 1 * 10 -4 over GFSK in an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel and 3.0dB improvement in a Rayleigh fading channel
We consider three different secure broadcasting scenarios: i) Broadcast channels with common and confidential messages (BCC), ii) multi-receiver wiretap channels with public and confidential messages, and iii) compound wiretap channels. The BCC is a broadcast channel with two users, where in addition to the common message sent to both users, a private message, which needs to be kept hidden as much as possible from the other user, is sent to each user. In this model, each user treats the other user as an eavesdropper. The multi-receiver wiretap channel is a broadcast channel with two legitimate users and an external eavesdropper, where the transmitter sends a pair of public and confidential messages to each legitimate user. Although there is no secrecy concern about the public messages, the confidential messages need to be kept perfectly secret from the eavesdropper. The compound wiretap channel is a compound broadcast channel with a group of legitimate users and a group of eavesdroppers. In this model, the transmitter sends a common confidential message to the legitimate users, and this confidential message needs to be kept perfectly secret from all eavesdroppers. In this paper, we provide a survey of the existing information-theoretic results for these three forms of secure broadcasting problems, with a closer look at the Gaussian multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channel models. We also present the existing results for the more general discrete memoryless channel models, as they are often the first step in obtaining the capacity results for the corresponding Gaussian MIMO channel models.

In this paper we propose a new wideband channel simulation algorithm which exactly simulates the Suzuki fading channel, a mixture of short term and long term fading. Proposed algorithm generates the incoming reflected waves as Suzuki distributed random signals and is possible to arbitrarily adjust the correlations among long term fading components of the incoming waves by using the Gaussian-to-lognormal transformation. Proposed algorithm can be applied to the simulation of the system performance.

Calculation of error probabilities for a coherent phase-shilft keyed communication system operating in a transionospheric scintillation channel is accomplished by means of the Gauss-quadrature integration formula. The channel model used, patterned after Rino's work, is slowly flat fading wherein the envelope of the received signal is modeled as the envelope of correlated Gaussian quadrature random processes. The error probability for the scintillation channel is calculated using actual ionospheric scintillation data for transmission in the UHF region(30-300MHz).

In this paper, drain induced barrier lowering(DIBL) has been analyzed as one of short channel effects occurred in double gate(DG) MOSFET. The DIBL is very important short channel effects as phenomenon that barrier height becomes lower since drain voltage influences on potential barrier of source in short channel. The analytical potential distribution of Poisson equation, validated in previous papers, has been used to analyze DIBL. Since Gaussian function been used as carrier distribution for solving Poisson's equation to obtain analytical solution of potential distribution, we expect our results using this model agree with experimental results. The change of DIBL has been investigated for device parameters such as channel thickness, oxide thickness and channel doping concentration.

An analytical subthreshold swing model is presented for symmetric double-gate (DG) MOSFETs with Gaussian doping profile in vertical direction. The model is based on the effective conduction path effect (ECPE) concept of uniformly doped symmetric DG MOSFETs. The effect of channel doping on the subthreshold swing characteristics for non-uniformly doped device has been investigated. The model also includes the effect of various device parameters on the subthreshold swing characteristics of DG MOSFETs. The proposed model has been validated by comparing the analytical results with numerical simulation data obtained by using the commercially available $ATLAS^{TM}$ device simulator. The model is believed to provide a better physical insight and understanding of DG MOSFET devices operating in the subthreshold regime.
