  • The MOBA game is updated every year with a new season, the new season update brings fun to the game users and also makes them feel unfamiliar with the new gameplay. In order to let game users better adapt to the new season, this study will extract the new season balance evaluation factors. Firstly, we used one-on-one review to collect the unbalanced factors that game users had encountered at the beginning of the new season of the MOBA game, and secondly, we organized the collected review data into a questionnaire and conducted a survey. The first step of the experiment was to filter out the lower factors through exploratory factor analysis and extract the balance evaluation factors of the MOBA game new season. The second step of the experiment was to examine the correlation between the factors through confirmatory factor analysis, as well as to confirm the appropriateness and explanatory value of the factors. The analysis resulted in "Game character experience", "Game view's expression", "Game level", and "Composition of the game setting" are the four factors. Finally, through correlation analysis, the most relevant factor for game satisfaction is the "Game character experience", and each factor is correlated with each other.

  • Character identification is illustrated in terms of game players' altered self-perception during gameplay. Research has shown that players' identification with game characters resulted in game players aligning their attitude with game character. This study investigates the relationships among control, ownership, character customization, identification, flow with game charater, and the impact on game players' behavior toward item purchase and play intention. Empirical results showed that character ownership and character customization significantly predicted use-character identification, but the impact of character control was not supported. In addition, the positive relationships between identification and flow was supported.

  • In recent years, the rapid development of VR technology has secured its significant position in the gaming industry. This paper selects the PC and VR versions of Resident Evil 4 as the research objects, aiming to compare the similarities and differences between these two platforms. Through this comparative study, it is evident that the PC version of the game offers most players an excellent gaming control experience through precise and flexible operations. On the other hand, the VR version not only achieves immersive gameplay through virtual reality technology but also delivers more impressive visual effects to players. However, in comparison to the traditional PC version, the VR version incurs higher development costs, necessitating the production team to invest more resources to optimize the gaming experience and strike a better balance between immersion and playability. In conclusion, this study provides a valuable reference for game developers, assisting them in meeting the diverse needs of player groups and enhancing game playability and user satisfaction.

  • Traditional market for arcade game is downsized due to limited offline services. This paper suggests O2O service which is a combination of NFC technology and traditional arcade game. O2O service available by installing NFC tag in the gaming machines and operating by smartphone. This allows convenient payment service along with continuity of gameplay. Furthermore applying ranking, statistics and replays will vitalize communities such as fan clubs and highlight local rankers into popular gaming stars. Offline gallery can be expanded to online via O2O service. Local stars and online gallery will lead arcade gaming platform to E sports. This paper covers servers and applications regarding O2O service in addition to their functions and expected outcome.

  • A game player experiences gameplay that game designer sets in play space according to goal of a game. Player's experiential behaviors are affected by the space structure of game level and its arrangements. Therefore, it is an important process to understand and analyze the space structure of game level at the initial stage of game designing. In this paper, we was aimed to analyze the space structure and components of FPS game level based on space theory. To attain the objective, observation was carried out on a total of 204 levels in 3 different kinds of FPS games and the difference in the distribution of spatial composition factors by the goal of a game level was identified. As a result of the analysis, experiential behaviors in the play space show a clear difference according to the goal of the game level and the space structure that derives this is different.

  • The video game industry is obsessed by the perception of "Next Generation Game". Appearance of the next generation game console has required the video game industry to renovate new technologies for their entire production. This tendency increases a huge mount of production cost. Game companies have to hire more designers to create a solid concept, artists to generate more detailed content, and programmers to optimize for more complex hardware. All those high cost efforts provide great locking games, but the potential of next generation game consoles does not end there. They also bring possibilities of the new types of gameplay. Next generation game contains a much larger pool of memories for every video game elements. The entire video game used to use roughly 800 animation files, but next generation game is pushing scripted event well over 4000 animation flies. That allows a lot of very unique custom animation for pretty much every action in the game. It gives game players much more vivid and realistic appreciation of the virtual world. Players are not being able to see any recycling of the same animation over and over when they are playing next generation game. The main purpose of this thesis is that defines the concept of next generation game and analyzes new animation-pipeline to be used in the shooter games.

  • As Smart-Learning has widely spread based on the advances of smart technologies in recent days, utilization of digital content has gradually become popular in English education. Considering the present situation, therefore, it can be predicted that games will draw attention as one of the commonly utilized digital contents in the English education field. This study focuses on finding out the major interfaces in game which could be applied properly to English learning and teaching activities. To achieve the research goals, this study elicited games which were able to represent their own genre and analyzed the aforementioned games by monitoring players' gameplay video clips to determine the interfaces which got the most selections. After that, this study examined the major interfaces to find out relative linguistic attributes. By synthesizing these results and methodological aspects of the English learning and teaching, this paper suggests game interfaces, which could be applied appropriately to teaching and learning in English education.

  • As game markets are rapidly growing, the cost and period of game development are both increasing. These imply that the game development projects require more professional management of the project. Game mechanics is an algorithm of the gameplay on a specific game-platform. Game mechanics is concentrated on engineering elements of the game and its quality should be continuously managed from the design phase to the implementation phase. In the design phase, useful methods that can analyze the quality of game mechanics are the simulations. There are several simulation methods of the game mechanics but each method has limited use range because of its characteristics. In this Paper, we survey the game mechanics simulation methods and analyze the characteristics of each method. By the analyzed results, the Petri net model simulation method is good for analyzing total quality of no-error, optimization, and play-balance of the game mechanics but others are not.

  • In the domestic game development field, game system planning is the work that game designers design the gameplay mechanics system to satisfy the game concepts in the perspective of creative design by data structural methods. But the programmers work to design the game system based on the results of the game system planning in the perspective of engineering design by object-oriented methods. This work process is a high risky way for high occurring probability of communication errors between the game designers and programmers, and mismatching errors in their work results. In this study, we propose an object-oriented design method of game system for the game designers in order to resolve this problem. The proposed method is a customized one of GRAPPLE object-oriented SW development guidelines to suit the game system planning. To investigate the effectiveness of the proposed planning method for the game designers, we carried out a survey targeting 10 game system designers working in the domestic game industry. The survey results show that the necessity and effectiveness of the proposed method is "a little over" for almost the game designers.
