Human Error Analysis Technique and Its Application to Marine Accidents

  • The management of safety at sea is based on a set of internationally accepted regulations and codes, governing or guiding the design and operation of ships. The regulations most directly concerned with human safety and protection of the environment are, in general, agreed internationally through the International Maritime Organization(IMO). IMO has continuously dealt with safety problems and, recognized that the human element is a key factor in both safety and pollution prevention issues(IMO, 2010). This paper proposes a human error analysis methodology which is based on the human error taxonomy and theories (SHELL model, GEMS model and etc.) that were discussed in the IMO guidelines for the investigation of human factors in marine casualties and incidents. In this paper, a cognitive process model, a human error analysis technique and a marine accident causal chains focused on human factors are discussed, and towing vessel collision accidents are analyzed as a case study in order to examine the applicability of the human error analysis technique to marine accidents. Also human errors related to those towing vessel collision accidents and their underlying factors are discussed in detail.

  • The importance of ozone monitoring has been growing due to the polar ozone depletion and increasing tropospheric ozone concentration over many Asian countries, including South Korea. In-situ measurement of the vertical ozone structure has advantages for ozone research, but observations are not sufficient. In this study, ozonesonde measurements were performed from October to November in Yongin during the GMAP (The GEMS Map of Air Pollution) 2021 campaign. The procedure for ozonesonde preparation and initial analysis of the observed ozone profile are documented. The observed ozone concentrations are in good agreement with previous studies in the troposphere, and they capture the stratospheric ozone distribution as well, including stratosphere-troposphere exchange event. These balloon-borne in situ measurements can contribute to the evaluation of remote sensing measurements such as Geostationary Environment Monitoring Spectrometer (GEMS). This document focuses on providing essential information of ozonesonde preparation and measurement for domestic researchers.

  • The object is to study the influence Korean ornaments had on the Japanese during the THREE KINGDOM PERIOD. In ornaments(Earrings Necklaces Bracelets Rings) also we can find commonness between Korean and Japan. CHIZASIL( a gardenia seed) and heart shaped of Earrings the use of gems in Necklaces engravings of abdomen on Bracelets and rhomb-shaped Rings all these are common between Korea and Japan. And the same time we can that our country was superior to Japan ornaments.

만주복식어휘의 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study on the Manchu Costume Terminologies)

  • This study is concerned with a comparative linguistic analysis of the Manchu costume terminologies. The Manchu costume terminologies revealed the elements Hebrew, Norweygian, English, Assyrian, Chinese, American Indian, Sanskrit, Tatar, Turkestan, Greek, Arabic, Indian, Kashmiri. The most influential elements of the Manchu costume terminologies were the Chinese costume terminologies. specifically, the elements of the Chinese costume terms were found in the terminologies of the fabrics, the gems and the precious stones. Also the influence of the Mongolic costume on the Manchu costume terminologies appeared in this study.

고로슬래그가 치환된 시멘트복합체의 열역학적 모델링 (Thermodynamic Modelling of Blast Furnace Slag Blended Cement Composites)

  • 본 연구에서는 열역학적 평형을 이용한 OPC의 재령에 따른 운동학적 수화 생성물 모델링과 GGBS의 치환률에 따른 수화 생성물의 변화를 모델링하였다. 열역학 데이터는 GEMS의 3rd party 데이터베이스, Cemdata18을 사용하였고, 시멘트 수화 모델링은 Parrot & Killoh 모델을 적용하였다. OPC모델링에서 재령에 따라 Pore solution의 이온 농도와 수화 생성물의 질량 및 부피 변화를 관찰할 수 있었다. GGBS모델링에서는 치환률이 증가함에 따라 장기강도를 지배하는 C-S-H의 생성량은 증가하지만, 내구성에 영향을 미치는 Portlandite의 생성량이 감소하여 탄산화에 대한 대책이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

  • 협업 워크플로우 관점에서 비즈니스 프로세스는 기업 내외의 애플리케이션들과 인적 자원들과의 유기적인 결합을 통하여 협업 프로세스를 신속하고 유연하게 수행할 수 있도록 지원하여야 한다. 현재기업 업무에 대한 시스템 의존도가 높아지고는 있지만, 인간은 여전히 핵심적인 역할을 차지한다. 즉 워크플로우 모델링에는 이러한 인간의 역할이 강조되어야 하며 인간 의사결정 과정 자체를 분석하여 인적오류를 제어할 수 있는 구조가 반드시 필요하다. 또한 액티비티간의 협업을 통하여 빠르고 효율적인 커뮤니케이션이 구축되어 궁극적으로는 액티비티들이 목표 프로세스에 연류되어 결과물에 대한 품질이 향상되도록 하여야 한다. 이에 본 논문에서는 협업 워크플로우에서 발생할 수 있는 인적오류를 제어하기 위해 GEMS(Generic Error Modeling System) 모델을 적용한다. 또한 하이브리드 기반의 모델링 방법을 통한 인적오류 제어 방법을 제시한다. 아울러 이러한 기반에서 협업 워크플로우를 모델링할 수 있는 도구를 설계하고 구현한다. 이와 같은 모델링 방법을 사용하면 인간 자체의 특성을 고려함으로써 인적오류를 제어할 수 있는 워크플로우 모델링이 될 수 있도록 지원할 수 있다.

  • Maritime safety and marine environmental protection are the most important topic in marine society. But, so many marine accidents rave been occurred with the development of marine transportation industry. On the other side, ship is being operated under a highly dynamic environment and many factors are related with ship's collision Nowadays, the increasing tendency to the human errors of ship's collision is remarkable, and the investigation of the human errors has been heavily concentrated. This study analysed on the human errors of ship's collision related to the negligence of lookout and classified basic error type using GEMS(Generic Error Modeling System) dynamic model.

낙상사고 예방을 위한 국내·외 관련 규정 분석 연구 (A Study on the Domestic and International Safety Regulation for Slip, Trip and Fall Prevention)

  • Slips and falls are associated with many public injuries in Korea. It is also estimated that slipping are major contributors to slip, trip and fall injury burden. The primary purpose of the present study is to determine if, and to what extent, the standard could be improved in present environment. In order to fulfill our objective, the regulations in Korea and foreign countries were investigated and reviewed. Many kind of standard, mandatory documents and guideline were also reviewed. And then, regulations, standard, guideline etc. reviewed were compared with each others. Also, some criteria was developed in this study. Standard and criteria developed in this study will help to prevent slip, trip, and fall injuries.

스크리닝 도구를 이용한 건물관리업 종사자의 균형감각능력 평가 (Evaluation of Balance Capability in Facilities Maintenance Workers using Screening Tools)

  • A number of screening tools have been developed to evaluate the human balance capability. Many of them were designed to identify the elderly with falling risk. Three different screening tools, which have been well used many clinical fields, were used in this study. The purpose of this study was to evaluate balance capability in facilities maintenance workers in korea. There were no statistical significance between male and female when evaluated with three different screening tools. However, significant differences were found among the age groups irrespective of gender when evaluated with three different screening tools. The results of three different screening tools in korea showed poor values compared with previous results. These results revealed that facilities maintenance workers faced more critical falling risk in korea.

토양환경에서 transformation 에 의한 유전물질의 전이

  • 현재 전세계적으로 10,000여개 이상의 실험실에서 생물공학적인 연구가 진행중에 있고, 200여개 이상의 회사에서 생물공학을 이용한 제품이 만들어지고 있다.(Saftlas, 1984). 이와같은 제품으로 생물농약(예, 모기억제에 사용되는 Bacillus thuringiensis var. israelensis 등)이라든가 insulin, 성장호르몬, lymphotoxin및 항암제등의 의약품(Saftlas, 1984)과 식물품종개량제(예, 질소 공정의 vector로 사용되는 Agrobacterium tumerfaciens의 Ti Plasmid)(McDanial, 1981 ; Shaw, 1986) 등이 있다. 그러나 최근 미생물 생태분야에서는 이와같이 만들어진 미생물들 (genetically engineered microorganisms : GEMs)이 자연 생태계에 유출되었을때 야기될 가능성이 있는 biohazaed에 대하여 관심이 집중되고 있다. (Curtiss, 1976 ; Sharples, 1983 ; Rissler, 1984). 토양환경에서 GEM이 유전물질을 전달항 수 있는 기작은 크게 conjugation, transduction, transformation 등이 알려지고 있다. 여기서는 주로 토양환경에서 transformation에 의한 유전물질의 전달과정에 대한 최근 연구동향을 간단히 기술하고자 한다.
