This study was carried out to analyze the vegetation and soil characteristic, and ordination of Wasabia japonica population at Ulleung-Do. The Wasabia japonica population is distributed in altitudes of 440m to 570m at Seo-Myon and also in altitudes of 340m near Nari-valley. In the study sites, soil organic matter, nitrogen, available phosphorous, exchangeable potassium, exchangeable calcium, exchangeable magnesium concentration, cation exchange capacity, and soil pH were 15.01%, 0.48%, 44.19ppm, 2.00(me/100g), 7.19(me/100g), 4.44(me/100g), 22.55(me/100g), and 6.17, respectively. The Rumohra standishii dominant population was mainly found in high in soil nitrogen, organic matter, CEC, and exchangeable calcium concentration in comparison with Boehmeria spicata dominant population. The Boehmeria spicata dominant population was mainly found in high in soil pH.
This study was initiated to evaluate ethanol production by a Korean isolate of white rot fungus Irpex consors. It was found that the fungus could produce ethanol by converting glucose, mannose, xylose, and cellobiose under semi-aerobic condition with yields of 0.23, 0.19, 0.21, and 0.17 g ethanol per g sugars, respectively. Furthermore, the strain produced ethanol by simultaneous saccharification and fermentation of rice straw treated with steam pressured boiling water, 3% NaOH, and 3% $H_2SO_4$ with maximum yields of 0.12, 0.15, and 0.19 g ethanol per g rice straw, respectively. These results suggested that I. consors could produce ethanol from the components of cellulose and hemicellulose including glucose, mannose, xylose, cellobiose as well as rice straw treated with steam pressured boiling water, dilute sodium hydroxide, and dilute sulfuric acid. This is the first report that I. consors mycelia produce ethanol from various sugars and lignocellulosic substance including rice straw.
The impact of the gate length (Lg) on the DC and high-frequency characteristics of indium-rich In0.8Ga0.2As channel high-electron mobility transistors (HEMTs) on a 3-inch InP substrate was inverstigated. HEMTs with a source-to-drain spacing (LSD) of 0.8 ㎛ with different values of Lg ranging from 1 ㎛ to 19 nm were fabricated, and their DC and RF responses were measured and analyzed in detail. In addition, a T-shaped gate with a gate stem height as high as 200 nm was utilized to minimize the parasitic gate capacitance during device fabrication. The threshold voltage (VT) roll-off behavior against Lg was observed clearly, and the maximum transconductance (gm_max) improved as Lg scaled down to 19 nm. In particular, the device with an Lg of 19 nm with an LSD of 0.8 mm exhibited an excellent combination of DC and RF characteristics, such as a gm_max of 2.5 mS/㎛, On resistance (RON) of 261 Ω·㎛, current-gain cutoff frequency (fT) of 738 GHz, and maximum oscillation frequency (fmax) of 492 GHz. The results indicate that the reduction of Lg to 19 nm improves the DC and RF characteristics of InGaAs HEMTs, and a possible increase in the parasitic capacitance component, associated with T-shap, remains negligible in the device architecture.

Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations are not only genetic markers for diagnosis but also biomarkers of clinical-response against tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Among the EGFR mutations, the in-frame deletion mutation in EGFR exon 19 kinase domain (EGFR exon 19-del) is the most frequent mutation, accounting for about 45% of EGFR mutations in NSCLCs. Development of sensitive method for detecting the EGFR mutation is highly required to make a better screening for drug-response in the treatment of NSCLC patients. Here, we developed a fluorometric tandem gene amplification assay for sensitive detection of low-abundance EGFR exon 19-del mutant genomic DNA. The method consists of pre-amplification with PCR, thermal cycling of ligation by Taq ligase, and subsequent rolling circle amplification (RCA). PCR-amplified DNA from genomic DNA samples was used as splint DNA to conjugate both ends of linear padlock DNA, generating circular padlock DNA template for RCA. Long stretches of ssDNA harboring multiple copies of G-quadruplex structure was generated in RCA and detected by thioflavin T (ThT) fluorescence, which is specifically intercalated into the G-quadruplex, emitting strong fluorescence. Sensitivity of tandem gene amplification assay for detection of the EGFR exon 19-del from gDNA was as low as 3.6 pg, and mutant gDNA present in the pooled normal plasma was readily detected as low as 1% fraction. Hence, fluorometric detection of low-abundance EGFR exon 19 deletion mutation using tandem gene amplification may be applicable to clinical diagnosis of NSCLC patients with appropriate TKI treatment.
This study was conducted to investigate the dry matter production and distribution ratio of dry matter produced for each of 5 botanical types (Virginia-Small Seed, Virginia-Large Seed, Spanish, Valencia, Shinpung) of Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) in Peanut culture limiting region. The total dry weight increased in order of Virginia-Large seed, Virginia- Small Seed, Shinpung, Spanish, Valencia type. The maximum Crop growth rates (Cmax) were Virginia-Small seed 18.22-23.41 g/㎡/day, Virginia-Large seed 19.61-20.03 g/㎡/day, Shinpung 16.33-19.77 g/㎡/day, Spanish 13.86-16.28 g/㎡/day, Valencia 13.97-16.25g/㎡/day, respectively. LAI showed the high value at vinyl-mulching than non-mulching. In the early filling stage, distribution ratio of dry matter produced showed the highest at the shinpung type than the other types.
In the Western Civilization you can clearly see the change in the architectural system. In the 19th Century many of arcitectural style resurrected in the appearance of style revival. And each of the Style's appropriateness and exactness were very complicatedly discussed. After the middle of 19th Century a series of morality movement which showed an expectation for a historical revival started to show declining atmosphere. To architects at the periods more universal formation seeking and new surpassing style pursuing logic has exacted which care from very different from the past During this period a question were brought up about architecture ornamental rightness and appropriateness. As each of the architects had a saying about the ornament was recognized as important part of architect. On this bases this study's purpose is finding out whst is the maeaning and content of G.Semper's "Bekleidungstheorie"

Purpose: The cross-protection of 7-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV7) against vaccine-related serotypes has been controversial. We investigated the serological properties of cross-protective antibodies against vaccine-related serotypes 6A, 6C, and 19A induced in young children aged 12-23 months after booster immunization of PCV7. Methods: IgG and IgM antibody concentrations and opsonic index (OI) against vaccine serotypes 6B and 19F and vaccine-related serotypes 6A, 6C, and 19A were measured by ELISA and opsonophagocytic killing assay (OPA) in 4 selected immunesera. The serological properties and antigenic specificity of protective antibodies were determined by IgM depletion of immunesera, OPA, and competitive OPA against serogroup 6 and 19 pneumococci. Results: Compared to pre-IgM depleted immunesera, OI of IgM-depleted immunesera against 6B and 19F decreased and OI against 6A, 6C, and 19A decreased, too. In competition OPA, free 6B and 19F polysaccharide completely inhibited the immune protection against vaccine-related serotypes 6A, 6C, and 19A as well as vaccine types 6B and 19F. Conclusions: The booster immunization of PCV7 certainly induced cross-protective antibodies against vaccine-related serotypes 6A, 6C, and 19A with both IgG and IgM isotypes. Furthermore, IgM antibodies are more highly contributed to opsonophagocytic activity against vaccine-related serotypes as well as most of vaccine types than do IgG antibodies. Further studies are needed for the more immunized sera in the children as well as adults.
Let G be a group and X be a nonempty set and H be a subgroup of G. For a given ${\phi}_G\;:\;G{\times}X{\rightarrow}X$, a group action of G on X, we define ${\phi}_H\;:\;H{\times}X{\rightarrow}X$, a subgroup action of H on X, by ${\phi}_H(h,x)={\phi}_G(h,x)$ for all $(h,x){\in}H{\times}X$. In this paper, by considering a subgroup action of H on X, we have some results as follows: (1) If H,K are two normal subgroups of G such that $H{\subseteq}K{\subseteq}G$, then for any $x{\in}X$ ($orb_{{\phi}_G}(x)\;:\;orb_{{\phi}_H}(x)$) = ($orb_{{\phi}_G}(x)\;:\;orb_{{\phi}_K}(x)$) = ($orb_{{\phi}_K}(x)\;:\;orb_{{\phi}_H}(x)$); additionally, in case of $K{\cap}stab_{{\phi}_G}(x)$ = {1}, if ($orb_{{\phi}_G}(x)\;:\;orb_{{\phi}H}(x)$) and ($orb_{{\phi}_K}(x)\;:\;orb_{{\phi}_H}(x)$) are both finite, then ($orb_{{\phi}_G}(x)\;:\;orb_{{\phi}_H}(x)$) is finite; (2) If H is a cyclic subgroup of G and $stab_{{\phi}_H}(x){\neq}$ {1} for some $x{\in}X$, then $orb_{{\phi}_H}(x)$ is finite.
The concentration of mecury was measured in the seawater, sediment, Mytilus edulis and suspended solid in the coastal area of Onsan. Samples were collected at spring and neap tide in the period from October 9 to November 2, 1984. The range and mean of mecury concentration in the seawater are $0.08\~0.73{\mu}g/\iota\;and\;0.19{\mu}g/\iota$. The range and mean of mecury concentration in the suspended solid was $0.70\~17.0{\mu}g/g$ TSS and $4.6{\mu}g/g$ TSS respectively. The average concentration of mecury in Mytilus edulis was 0.10mg/kg which was higher than that of the reference area, Chung Mu. The mean value of concentration factor of mercury in wet base is 500 in Mytilus edulis. The average concentration of mecury in sediment was 0.15mg/kg.

Traditional herbal medicinal preparation Bojungikki-tang (BJT) is well-known herbal medicine used as tonic. We fermented Bojungikki-tang using nine lactic acid bacteria strains and discovered two remarkably increased compositions from the fermented BJTs using HPLC/DAD analysis. HPLC/DAD-guided fractionation of the increased compositions followed by structure identification using NMR and MS identified liquiritigenin and isoliquiritigenin. These bioconversion compositions were quantitatively analyzed using HPLC-DAD. Liquiritigenin contents were highest in BJTs fermented with L. amylophilus (1.91 mg/g) and L. fermentum (1.89 mg/g), which were increased by 20-fold compared to BJT (0.09 mg/g). Isoliquiritigenin contents were highest in BJTs in fermented with L. plantarum (0.19 mg/g) and L. fermentum (0.19 mg/g), which were increased by 19-fold compared to BJT (0.01 mg/g).
