  • This paper presents observer-based controller design for interval type-2 fuzzy system with staircase membership approximation. In type-2 fuzzy case, membership function is itself fuzzy set itself. Thus, type-2 fuzzy system can deal with parametric uncertainties of nonlinear system by capturing the uncertainties in membership function. Likewise, stabilization condition of type-2 fuzzy system is derived from quadratic Lyapunov function, and it goes to linear matrix inequality. Furthermore, in this paper, to relax the conservativeness of stabilization condition, staircase membership function approximating method is applied. Observer-based control method is adopted to control system which has some unmeasurable states. To prove suitability of our proposed method, numerical example is presented.

  • This paper is to design stable fuzzy controller so as to control chaotic nonlinear systems effectively via fuzzy control system and Parallel Distributed Compensation (PDC) design. To design fuzzy control system, nonlinear systems are represented by Takagi-sugeno(TS) fuzzy models. The PDC is employed to design fuzzy controllers from the TS fuzzy models. The stability analysis and control design problems is to find a common Lyapunov function for a set of linear matrix inequalitys(LMIs). The designed fuzzy controller is applied to Rossler system. The simulation results show the effectiveness of our controller.

  • This paper develops a stability analysis and controller synthesis methodology for a continuous-time affine Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems with parametric uncertainties. Affine T-S fuzzy system can be an advantage because it may be able to approximate nonlinear functions to high accuracy with fewer rules than the homogeneous T-S fuzzy systems with linear consequents only. The analysis is based on Lyapunov functions that are continuous and piecewise quadratic. The search for a piecewise quadratic Lyapunov function can be represented in terms of bilinear matrix inequalities (BMIs). A simulation example is given to illustrate the application of the proposed method.

  • This paper presents a design technique of a Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy-model-based $H_{\infty}$ controller for autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs). The design procedure aims to render the stabilizing controller which satisfies performance of the diving control for AUVs in the presence of the disturbance. A nonlinear AUV is modeled by the T-S fuzzy system through the sector nonlinearity. By using Lyapunov function, the sufficient conditions are derived to guarantee the performance of robust depth control in the format of linear matrix inequality (LMI). To succeed for diving control of AUV, we add the constraints on the diving and pitch angles in the LMI conditions. Through the simulation, we confirm the effectiveness of the proposed methodology.

  • A fuzzy controller designed by mini-max-gravity(MMG) method is essentially nonlinear with respect to the controller's input and output relationship, and stability analysis is thus needed to construct a stable control system. This paper deals with a design method of a position-type MMG fuzzy controller stable in a sense of Lyapunov when considered is a single-input-single-output linear, stable plant. We first introduce a method to construct a Laypunov function by using an eigen-value of A matrix of the linear, stable plant dynamics and then we derive an asymtotic stability condition in terms of scale factors for fuzzy state variables and controller gain. The stability condition is found reasonably practical through comparing the theoretical stability region with that obtained from simulations.

  • A new intelligent adaptive control scheme was proposed that combines observer disturbance-based adaptive control and fuzzy adaptive control for a composite structure with a mass-adjustable damper. The most important advantage is that the control structures do not need to know the uncertainty limits and the interference effect is eliminated. Three adjustable parameters in LMI are used to control the gain of the 2D fuzzy control. Binary performance indices with weighted matrices are constructed to separately evaluate validation and training performance using the revalidation learning function. Determining the appropriate weight matrix balances control and learning efficiency and prevents large gains in control. It is proved that the stability of the control system can be ensured by a linear matrix theory of equality based on Lyapunov's theory. Simulation results show that the multilevel simulation approach combines accuracy with high computational efficiency. The M-TMD system, by slightly reducing critical joint load amplitudes, can significantly improve the overall response of an uncontrolled structure.

  • In this paper, a robust $H\infty$ stabilization problem to a uncertain discrete-time nonlinear systems with time-delay via fuzzy static output feedback is investigated. The Takagj-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model is employed to represent an uncertain nonlinear system with time-delayed state. Then, the parallel distributed compensation technique is used for designing of the robust fuzzy controller. Using a single Lyapunov function, the globally asymptotic stability and disturbance attenuation of the closed-loop fuzzy control system are discussed. Sufficient conditions for the existence of robust $H\infty$ controllers are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities via similarity transform and congruence transform technique. We have shown the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method through the simulation.

  • Its is proposed that a stable adaptive control system composed of a fuzzy and a compensating controller, is designed to control nonlinear systems. In fuzzy and proposed compensating controller, parameters of membership functions characterizing the linguistic terms change according to some adaptive law. The adaptive law are based on the Lyapunov systhesis approach. the closed-loop system using the adaptive control structure proposed in this paper is globally stable in the sense that the Lyapunov function decreases as time goes. the following simulation shows the results.

  • This paper presents an output feedback robust H$\infty$ control problem for a class of uncertain nonlinear systems, which can be represented by an fuzzy dynamic model. The nonlinear system is represented by Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model, and the control design is carried out on the basis of the fuzzy model. Using a single quadratic Lyapunov function, the globally exponential stability and disturance attenuation of the closed-loop fuzzy control system are discussed. Sufficient conditions for the existence of robust H$\infty$ controllers are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs). Constructive algorithm for design of robust H$\infty$ controller is also developed. The resulting controller is nonlinear and automatically tuned based on fuzzy operation.
