실내 공기질 개선을 위한 광촉매를 혼입한 수성도료의 특성 (Properties of Water-based Paint mixed with Photocatalyst for Indoor Air Quality Improvement)

  • As the modern society enters, the building becomes sealed and the public's interest in the environment increases, so the interest in indoor air pollution increases and the environmental pollution is raised as an important issue not only outdoors but also indoors. In addition, the emergence of sick house syndrome (SHS) has increased the interest in formaldehyde and is a cause of deteriorating indoor air quality. Accordingly, this study prepared a functional paint by incorporating a photocatalyst in an aqueous paint, and conducted formaldehyde adsorption experiments and functional evaluation. As a result of the experiment, as the photocatalyst was added, the formaldehyde adsorption performance tended to increase. In addition, as a result of measuring the impact resistance and alkali resistance according to the KS standard, there is no difference in residual cracks and cracks between the water-based paint without the photocatalyst and the water-based paint with the photocatalyst added. Therefore, it is considered that the water-based paint added with a photocatalyst can improve the indoor air quality by adsorbing formaldehyde and can be used as a functional paint because the functionality is not different from that of a general water-based paint.

다기능보의 수문운영에 따른 금강의 장기하상변동 및 홍수위변화 분석 (Analysis of Long-Term Riverbed-Level and Flood Stage Variation due to Water Gate Operation of Multi-functional Weirs at Geum River)

  • 국내 4대강에 설치된 다기능보는 하천을 횡단하는 수공구조물로써 고정보와 가동보로 구분되어 설치되었으며, 각 다기능보의 수문운영 방식에 따라 유량이 변화하여 하상변동 및 유사이동 형태의 변화 가능성이 있다. 본 연구에서는 다기능보의 수문운영에 따른 장기 하상변동을 금강유역을 중심으로 연구하였다. 연구결과, 금강에서는 다기능보의 설치 및 수문운영 시나리오에 따라서 최심하상고의 변화가 연평균하상고의 변화에 비해서 상대적으로 큰 것으로 나타났다. 최심하상고의 하상저하는 최대 2.79 m, 하상상승은 최대 1.90 m까지 발생하는 것으로 나타났으며, 연평균하상고의 하상저하는 최대 2.16 m, 하상상승은 최대 1.24 m까지 발생하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 하상변동에 따른 홍수위 분석 결과, 다기능보 설치 후에 홍수위가 대부분 상승하는 것으로 나타났으며, 최대 2.23 m까지 상승하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과로 인해서 제방의 여유고를 상회하는 홍수위가 발생할 가능성이 있기 때문에, 하천의 유사관리 및 하천계획수립을 함에 있어서 다기능보의 수문운영을 고려해야 한다고 판단된다. 또한 본 연구결과는 향후 하천계획을 수립함에 있어서 종단적 하도관리 및 안정하상 채택 등을 위해서 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 본다.

SMPS 시스템에서 용매(물)가 나노입도측정결과에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Water Droplets on the Nano Particle Size Distribution using the SMPS System)

  • In this paper we have studied the effect of water droplet size on nano-particle size distribution using SMPS(Scanning Mobility Particle Sizer)system. It can be seen that the unknown peak at >100 nm was caused by water droplets which did not dry completely when DI water was used as a solvent in the SMPS system. Therefore, it is important to dry water droplets generated from atomizer in the SMPS system when measuring the particle size distribution using less than 100 nm nano-particles in diameter. From this study, It can be concluded that the napion was a useful material as dryer ones and using EAG(Electro Aerosol Generator) as a particle generator was the most effective in reducing the effect of water droplets.

수위, 온도, 전도도 측정을 위한 다기능 One-Chip 센서의 제조 (Fabrication of a multi-functional one-chip sensor for detecting water depth, temperature, and conductivity)

  • The multi-functional one-chip sensor has been fabricated to reduce output variation under various water environment. There were a temperature sensor, a piezoresistive type pressure sensor, and a electrode type conductivity sensor in the fabricated one-chip sensor. This sensor was measured water depth in the range of $0{\sim}180cm$, temperature in the range of $0{\sim}50^{\circ}C$, and salinity in the range of 0 $0wt%{\sim}5wt%$, respectively. Since the change of water depth in solution environment depends on various factors such as salinity, latitude, temperature, and atmospheric pressure, the water depth sensor is needed to be compensated. We tried to compensate the salinity and temperature dependence for the pressure in water by using lookup-table method.

삼관능 모노머의 종류 및 함량에 따른 자외선 경화형 감압 점착 필름의 특성 (Effects of Tri-functional Monomers on the Properties of UV-curable Pressure Sensitive Adhesives (PSAs))

  • Polybutadiene diol (PBD)과 isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI)의 반응을 통하여 이관능 우레탄 아크릴레이트 올리고머 (PB-UAO)를 합성하고, 여기에 삼관능 아크릴레이트 모노머 (Tris(2- acryloyloxyethyl) isocyanurate (TAOEIC), 또는 Trimethylolpropane triacrylate (TMPTA) 또는 Pentaerythritol triacrylate(PETA)), 단관능 아크릴레이트 모노머 (Stearyl Acrylate) 그리고 광개시제를 혼합한 후 이형필름 위에 코팅하고 자외선 경화를 통하여 감압 점착 필름을 제조하였다. 삼관능 아크릴레이트 모노머의 구조 및 함량에 따른 감압 점착제의 박리강도, 인장강도, 신율, 열안정성 및 흡습 특성의 변화를 고찰하였다. 삼관능 아크릴레이트 모노머의 함량이 증가할수록, 그리고 분자량이 작을수록 감압 점착 필름의 박리강도, 연신율 및 흡습율은 감소하는 경향을 보였으며, 인장강도 및 열안정성은 증가하는 것을 확인하였다.

  • Objective : This study was designed to show the possible functional groups from the herb medicine in boiling water. Results : The results are summarized as follows: 1. the new functional groups can be synthesized in water solution for herb medicine. 2. The boiling water solution may change the poison materials into harmless materials. 3. The multiplication, the offset, the contradiction, etc. in terms of mixed herb medicine can be explainable by these reactions. 4. After finding the new medicinal substances for the specific disease, we can synthesize, modify, and mass produce those for that disease.

지리산국립공원 저서성 대형무척추동물의 섭식기능군 분포 특성과 생물학적 수질평가 (Distribution Characteristics of Functional Feeding Groups of Benthic Macroinvertebrates and Biological Evaluation of Water Quality in Jirisan National Park)

  • The distribution characteristics of functional feeding groups and biological evaluation of water quality with benthic macroinvertebrates were investigated from 2013 to 2014 in the mountain streams of Jirisan National Park. Both quantitative and qualitative collection had been performed six times during study periods in twelve sites located at upstream, midstream and downstream of four valleys, Chilsungol, Baemsagol, Daesunggol and Piagol of freshwater ecosystem in Jirisan National Park. As results, the total collected benthic macroinvertebrates were 3 phyla, 4 classes, 11 orders, 37 families, 107 species and 4,028 individuals. In 2013, 3 phyla, 4 classes, 10 orders, 32 families, 89 species and 1,829 individuals were collected. And in 2014, 3 phyla, 4 classes, 9 orders, 31 families, 80 species and 2,199 individuals were identified. The total dominant species was Ecdyonurus kibumensis, and EPT groups occupied 80.39% of total species number. Biotic indices were also compared to site and to season. The dominant index (DI) was highest at the downstream of Baemsagol in the spring of 2013, and the evenness index (J') was highest at the downstream of Daesunggol in the summer of 2013. Both diversity index (H') and richness index (RI) were highest at the upstream of Baemsagol in the summer of 2014. The correlation between altitude above sea level and functional feeding groups of benthic macroinvertebrates was also researched in this study. As a result, the species number of shredders and predators have significantly increased according to the increase of the altitude of their habitat. On the other hand, individuals of gathering collectors have increased according to the increase of altitude. The biological water quality was evaluated and compared with several methods in this study, and we suggest that ESB and GPI are more appropriate than KSI and BMI to evaluate biological water quality of mountain stream water.

하수저류시설 타당성 분석 연구 (Feasibility Study on Installing a Multi-functional Storage Facility)

  • In the era of climate change, the feasibility of a 'multi-functional storage facility' was evaluated in terms of various key performance indices such as flooding prevention effects, urban pollution reduction effects, and rainwater harvesting effects. As a result, the Korea Ministry of Environment introduced a new concept of 'multi-functional storage facility' for sewer flooding prevention and urban non-point pollution reduction. Prior to introducing these infrastructure (a large underground storage facility), the more details were needed to be examined carefully in all of technical aspects of construction and management. It was also well known that the validity of installation of 'multi-functional storage facility' was sometimes weakened because of a low B/C ratio.

Cherry Tomatoes Ameliorate Scopolamine-induced Amnesia in Mice

  • Cherry tomatoes are rich in antioxidants, which may protect against neurodegeneration and consequent memory loss. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of cherry tomatoes on scopolamine-induced amnesia in mice. Male ICR mice (4 weeks old) were maintained for 4 weeks on a diet containing 10 or 20% tomato powder (TP), and then administered scopolamine (1 mg/kg body weight, i.p.) 45 min before memory testing. Passive avoidance and Morris water maze testing revealed that scopolamine-induced amnesia was significantly reduced in the TP groups compared to the non TP-received (control) group. Accordingly, acetylcholinesterase activities in the serum and brain of TP groups were lower than those in the control group. These findings suggest that cherry tomatoes may be useful for the prevention of neurodegenerative diseases such as amnesia and Alzheimer's disease.
