도시철도 직류급전용 더블컨버터의 출력특성 향상을 위한 모드 변환 시 점호각 제어 연구 (A Study on the Firing Angle at the Mode Conversion to Improve the Output Characteristics of the Double Converter for Urban Railway DC Power Supply)

  • 본 논문은 도시철도 전동차 정차 시에 발생하는 회생전력으로 인해 전차선 가선전압 상승 시에 Converter(Forward)에서 Inverter(Reverse)로 mode 변환하여 상승된 가선전압을 AC 모선으로 환류하여 전차선 전압을 일정하게 유지하고 전동차 정차 시에 발생하는 회생전력을 재사용할 수 있는 부산도시철도의 더블 컨버터 직류 변전설비를 제안하며 전차선 직류전압 품질향상을 위해 부산도시철도 더블 컨버터 직류 변전설비에서 발생하는 Converter/Inverter mode 변환 시의 undershoot와 overshoot를 최소화할 수 있는 최적의 사이리스터 점호각을 시뮬레이션을 통하여 제시하였다.

  • Previous AC/DC PFC Boost Converter perceives feed forward signal of input and feedback signal of output for average current-mode control. Previous Boost Converter, the quantity of input current will be decreased by the decrease of output current in light load, and also power factor comes to be decreased. Also the efficiency of converter will be decreased by the decrease of power factor. The proposed converter presents the good PFC(Power Factor Correction), low line current hormonic distortions and tight output voltage regulations using non-dissipative snubber. The proposed converter also has a high efficiency by non-dissipative snubber circuit. To show the superiority of this converter is verified through the experiment with a 640W, 100kHz prototype converter.

Loss Analysis and Soft-Switching Behavior of Flyback-Forward High Gain DC/DC Converters with a GaN FET

  • Compared with Si MOSFETs, the GaN FET has many advantages in a wide band gap, high saturation drift velocity, high critical breakdown field, etc. This paper compares the electrical properties of GaN FETs and Si MOSFETs. The soft-switching condition and power loss analysis in a flyback-forward high gain DC/DC converter with a GaN FET is presented in detail. In addition, a comparison between GaN diodes and Si diodes is made. Finally, a 200W GaN FET based flyback-forward high gain DC/DC converter is established, and experimental results verify that the GaN FET is superior to the Si MOSFET in terms of switching characteristics and efficiency. They also show that the GaN diode is better than the Si diode when it comes to reverse recovery characteristics.

BF 컨버터의 역률 개선에 관한 연구 (A study on the power factor improvement of the Boost Forward Converter)

  • 본 논문에서는 BF 컨버터의 Active PFC 시스템을 구성하고, 전력 변환시 입력 전류를 전원 전압과 동상인 정현파로 제어하며 직류 출력 전압을 제어하기 위한 PWM-PFM 제어 기법을 사용하여 역률을 개선하였다. FET와 IGBT를 이용하여 본 논문에서 제시한 Boost 컨버터와 인버터 회로를 구성하였고, 제안된 Boost 컨버터의 제어 회로는 마이크로프로세서 80C196으로 구성하였다. 또한 입력 전압이 30V이고, Boost 인덕터가 1.1 mH일 때 정격 출력은 전압 50V, 전류 IA, 듀티비 (Duty Ratio) 0.5 이상으로 하였다. 부하 저항의 변화에 따른 전압 변화를 PWM-PFM 제어 기법을 이용하여 제어하였고, 전류 성형 기법을 이용하여 역률이 0.96 가지 개선됨을 실험으로써 입증하였다.

  • Electric energy is consumed or regenerated according to an operation of electric rail cars in urban railway power substations. A thyristor dual converter system is used to deal with the electric energy. Since the AC input voltage of power substations is $22.9kV{\pm}10%$, the magnitude of the AC voltage fluctuates according to load conditions, so the secondary side voltage of the DDY transformer also fluctuates. In the thyristor dual converter, the response characteristics of the DC output voltage and the DC output current are changed based on an initial firing angle in the cross mode conversion between the forward mode and the reverse mode. Therefore, this paper proposes the initial firing angle tracking algorithm considering fluctuation of the AC input voltage. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified by a simulation compared with the conventional algorithm.

광펄스 살균을 위한 다채널 고전압 컨버터의 개발 (Development of the High Voltage Converter for the Pulsed Light Sterilization)

  • As the demand for the fresh non-thermal food is increased, it is required to develop the fast and perfect sterilization method. The conventional sterilization method using ultraviolet lamp has some disadvantages such as imperfect sterilization and longer process time. In this research, IPL(Intense Pulsed Light) sterilization system is introduced to overcome the drawbacks of the conventional system, and suitable power supply architecture for the system is discussed. Since the IPL sterilization system uses Zenon lamps which requires the 600~2,100[V] for the lightning and 16~30[kV] for the trigger, the converter for the system should be able to generate the high voltage and to discharge the large amount of energy instantaneously. In this research a new power system architecture which has a modified forward converter topology with two switches for generating high voltage and a capacitor bank to control the energy for the lightning by switching is introduced.

  • 역률개선용 AC/DC Flyback 컨버터의 경우 우수한 역률을 획득할 수 있으나 코어손실이 크고 효율이 낮으며 반면 Forward 컨버터의 경우 코어손실이 작아 높은 효율을 획득할 수 있으나 Dead zone이 존재하여 고역률 획득이 어려운 단점을 갖는다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 Forward 컨버터와 Flyback 컨버터의 장점을 동시에 구현할 수 있는 고효율 및 고역률 Balanced forward-flyback 컨버터를 제안한다. 제안된 컨버터는 스위치 온 시 Forward 컨버터로 동작하며 스위치 오프 시 트랜스포머 자화인덕터 리셋을 위해 Flyback 컨버터로 동작하므로 고역률 및 고효율 획득이 가능하며 Forward 및 Flyback 컨버터가 다루는 에너지량이 전류평형 캐패시터에 의해 항상 절반씩 배분되므로 AC입력전압의 크기에 관계없이 항상 고효율 획득이 가능하다. 제안된 회로의 타당성 검증을 위해 이론적 분석결과와 24W급 LED 조명 회로에 적용한 실험결과를 제시한다.

  • This paper presents average current-mode control AC/DC ZVT(Zero Voltage Transition) Boost Converter. This boost converter perceives feed forward signal of input and feedback signal of output for average current-mode control proposed converter employs active-clamp method for ZVT. This converter gives the good PFC(Power Factor Correction), low line current hormonic distortions and tight output voltage regulations. This converter also has a high efficiency by active-clamp method. The principle of operation, feature, and design considerations are illustrated and verified through the experiment with a 150W, 120kHz prototype converter.

Non-isolated Bidirectional Soft-switching SEPIC/ZETA Converter with Reduced Ripple Currents

  • A novel non-isolated bidirectional soft-switching SEPIC/ZETA converter with reduced ripple currents is proposed and characterized in this study. Two auxiliary switches and an inductor are added to the original bidirectional SEPIC/ZETA components to form a new direct power delivery path between input and output. The proposed converter can be operated in the forward SEPIC and reverse ZETA modes with reduced ripple currents and increased voltage gains attributed to the optimized selection of duty ratios. All switches in the proposed converter can be operated at zero-current-switching turn-on and/or turn-off through soft current commutation. Therefore, the switching and conduction losses of the proposed converter are considerably reduced compared with those of conventional bidirectional SEPIC/ZETA converters. The operation principles and characteristics of the proposed converter are analyzed in detail and verified by the simulation and experimental results.

  • In this Paper, we report the experimental results of the Forward-flyback U-U converter with current doubler and synchronous rectifier. The experimental converter, that has a output voltage 3.3V, output current 20A, maximum power of 66W, switching frequency of 290kHz and input voltage range of 36-75V, has been successfully implemented. As a result, in the entire voltage range the measured full load efficiency was above 85$\%$, and the output voltage was regulated at 3.3V within $\pm3{\%}$ tolerance.
