  • Pakistan is a South Asian auspicious developing country. Based on the corruption perception index report 2020 by transparency international, Pakistan has ranked 124 with total scores of 31 globally and 188 ranks with a score of -2.25 in terms of political stability ranging from 0 (lowest) to 100 (highest). More crucially, the inflow of foreign direct investment toward Pakistan has declined between 2008 and 2019. Though political instability and government corruption have both positive and negative linear relationships with foreign direct investment, we tested the moderating impact of government corruption between political instability and inward foreign direct investment over time. We also tested the relationship between political instability and inward foreign direct investment in different phases of political regimes in the same country. Our results suggested that authoritarian regimes attracted more inward foreign direct investment than that during democratic periods of government. Furthermore, we found that there was low inward foreign direct investment when government corruption was high in the country. However, government corruption weakened the positive relationship between political instability and inward foreign direct investment (FDI).

  • This study aims to explore the digital citizenship education of pre-service teachers through deriving the needs for digital citizenship of pre-service teachers and analyzing their perceptions. To this end, an online survey was conducted on pre-service teachers enrolled in a graduate school of education, and data from 245 respondents were collected and analyzed. The needs assessment was prioritized by synthesizing paired t-test, Borich needs assessment, and the locus for focus model. The results of the study were as follows; first, when synthesizing the analysis of needs, the priority of digital citizenship of pre-service teachers was 'self-protection'. Second, pre-service teachers were aware of the need for digital citizenship education and were willing to participate in it. They hoped that it would be taught in an extra-curricular program or teacher education courses. Based on the study results, the direction of education to strengthen the digital citizenship of pre-service teachers was discussed.

This study divided Korean corpus into two perspectives: Self-perceived and others' perceived Korean studies. To this end, we collected 10,929 humanities and social literature containing the word Korea or Korean as a keyword in the SCOPUS database. Differences in Korean Studies between two are: First, the sub-area of self-perceived Korean studies is subdivided into more diverse areas than the sub-area of other-perceived Korean studies. Second the major areas in self-perceived Korean studies are customers and services, industrialization, multiculturalism, mental health, tourism, Korean language, environment, and cities. Others' perceptions of Korean Studies are grouped into domestic and foreign situations of Korea, Korean pop culture, Koreans as US immigrants, and Korean language. • This study was done to analyze research trends and to suggest future perspectives for nursing research on fatigue. The author reviewed 31 Korean and foreign research papers which have been published in the literature since 1970. An analysis of the study focused on the type of research subjects, type of study design. measurement instrument, and its correlated parameters. The results of the study are summarized as follows : First, within all of the studies analayzed, 14 studies were publised in Korea and 17 were published abroad. The number of studies done abroad have been increasing rapidly since 1991. Second, an analysis of the research design of the studies showed, eight studies each, Korean and foreign used survey design. Two Korean studies and seven foreign studies used a correlational design. Four comparative studies were done in Korea, but only two experimetal studies were performed abroad. Therefore, it was found that the trend of the study design used is survey design and there are more correlational studies done abroad than in Korea. Third, the type of the study subjects ; 11 Korean and three foreign studies dealt with healthy people. In addition, three Korean and 14 foreign studies investigated patients with various illnesses. It was found that patients with various illnesses were studied more frequently in foreign studies than in Korean studies. Fourth, the measurement tool used in the Korean studies ; 13 studies used a testible tool to assess patients' subjective symtoms or complaints of fatigue. The most commonly used tool used in 10 studies, was the Fatigue Self-Perception Scale, which was designed by the Labor and Health Institute of Japan. The Visual Analogue Scale was used in two studies, and Piper Fatigue Scale, addtional with physiologic parameters, was used in one study. In the foreign studies, subjective measurement tools were used in 16 studies. A combination of a subjective measurement tool with objective parameters was used in ten studies. For the subjective measurement tool used in the foreign studies, a specific measurement tool developed by the researcher which was used in seven studies. Either Rhoten Fatigue Scale or the Visual Analog Scale were used in three studies. Additionally, in order to identify the relationship between fatigue and psychological factors, The Profile of Mood State was used in three studies. Beck Depression Inventory was used in two studies. The Self Rated Depression Scale, developed by Zung, was used in one study and other measurement tools were used to measure various psychological parameters. Rhoten fatigue Checklist was also used to observe behavior patterns. Lastly, nine studies identified correlations between fatigue and other parameters. A significant correlation was found between fatigue and psychological factors such as depression, and pain. As a result of the above findings, it can be said that research trends on fatigue are increasing internationally. The selected study designs are survey studies both in Korea and abroad. There are more correlational studies abroad than in Korea. In addition, subjective measurement tools and objective parameters are used variously and combined with each other. had, there is a significant correlation between fatigue and psychological factors such as depression, and pain. More survey and correlational studies need to be done to identify the relationship of fatigue in patients with various condition or diagnoses and to suggest a scientific basis for nursing interventions with fatigue. Also, a tool to assess patient's subjective, objective, and behavioral aspects on fatigue needs to be developed.

  • This study examined the factors of failure of new-type computer which has a functions of replacing and supplementing of existing product by being unaccepted by market. Placing the reason of market failure in a customer's negative perception of the value of the product, influential relationship was explored by distinguishing the factors that influence value perception between benefit of use of product and the cost of using product. As a result of this empirical research on netbook, a customer's negative perception of the value of new product had an negative influence on intention of use. And a customer's perceptional cost of new-type computer had an significant influence on negative perception of the value of the new product. However, even if a customer perceived benefit of new-type computer negatively, this did not impact on negative influence.

  • The purposes of this study include i) to understand the circumstances of exposure to information during foreign refugees' stay in South Korea, ii) to investigate their information needs and the use of information sources, and iii) to propose the change needed in the Korean society, the role of South Korea in the global community, and the service direction of libraries and information professionals. To this end, legally recognized refugees who have stayed in South Korea were recruited for semi-structured in-depth interviews and observations on their perception, situation, and active behavior. The discussions were transcribed for coding. The codes were analyzed by content analysis technics based on relevant previous studies and factors of Dervin's Sense-making theory and Chatman's Information Poverty theory. Based on these analyses, this study proposed strategies for foreign refugees and individuals and public organizations, including libraries and NGOs, from an information service perspective. It is expected that the proposed strategies will supplement related empirical quantitative research and add value to information services for solving information problems.

  • The Chinese fashion market is a fierce battlefield for foreign brands and domestic brands. This research carefully analyzed several effects based on theories related to the country of origin for brands and consumer attitudes. All data were collected by a questionnaire distributed to Chinese consumers who have experienced global fashion brands. Data collection was conducted in March 2011. A total of 382 complete responses were used for the analysis. The results were as follows: First, for Chinese brands, there was a direct consumer ethnocentrism (CET) effect on brand attitudes. Second, CET showed no effect for European brands; however, conspicuous consumption had a significant positive influence. Third, there existed direct effects of CET and economic animosity on brand attitudes for brands from an unfriendly country. There was a positive moderating effect of conspicuous consumption on the association between CET and Japanese brand attitudes; in addition, a negative situation perception aggravates the negative relationship between economic animosity and Japanese brand attitudes. The results of the study can help marketers obtain more specific knowledge of brand attitudes for target consumer groups as well as enable them to plan and implement well-suited strategies for fashion businesses in China.
