  • The aim of the present paper is three fold. Firstly, we obtain common fixed point theorems for a pair of selfmaps satisfying nonexpansive or Lipschitz type condition by using the notion of pointwise R-weak commutativity but without assuming the completeness of the space or continuity of the mappings involved (Theorem 1, Theorem 2 and Theorem 3). Secondly, we generalize the results obtained in first three theorems for four mappings by replacing the condition of noncompatibility of maps with the property (E.A) and using the R-weak commutativity of type $(A_g)$ (Theorem 4). Thirdly, in Theorem 5, we show that if the aspect of noncompatibility is taken in place of the property (E.A), the maps become discontinuous at their common fixed point. We, thus, provide one more answer to the problem posed by Rhoades [11] regarding the existence of contractive definition which is strong enough to generate fixed point but does not forces the maps to become continuous.

  • Park et.al.[10] defined the intuitionistic fuzzy metric space in which it is a little revised in Park[4], and Park et.a1.[7] proved a fixed point theorem of Banach for the contractive mapping of a complete intuitionistic fuzzy metric space. In this paper, we will establish common fixed point theorem for four self maps in intuitionistic fuzzy metric space. These results have been used to obtain translation and generalization of Grabiec's contraction principle.

  • In this paper, we prove strong convergence theorems of Halpern iteration for relatively asymptotically nonexpansive mappings in the framework of Banach spaces. Our results extend and improve the recent ones announced by [C. Martinez-Yanes, H. K. Xu, Strong convergence of the CQ method for fixed point iteration processes, Nonlinear Anal. 64 (2006), 2400-2411], [X. Qin, Y. Su, Strong convergence theorem for relatively nonexpansive mappings in a Banach space, Nonlinear Anal. 67 (2007), 1958-1965] and many others.

  • In this paper, some new fixed point theorems for condensing mappings are established based on a well known result of Petryshyn. We use several Leray-Schauder type conditions to prove new fixed point results. We also obtain generalizations of Altman's theorem and Petryshyn's theorem as well.

  • In this paper, we give some new definitions of $D^*$-metric spaces and we prove a common fixed point theorem for six mappings under the condition of weakly compatible mappings in complete $D^*$-metric spaces. We get some improved versions of several fixed point theorems in complete $D^*$-metric spaces.

  • In this paper, we establish a unique common fixed point theorem for T-contraction of two self maps on generalized cone b-metric spaces with solid cone. The result of this paper improves and generalizes several well-known results in the literature. Two examples are also given to support the result.
