  • We study the relation between an R-Cartan structure ${\alpha}$ an an (I, J, K)-generalized Finsler structure ${\omega}$ on a 3-manifold ${\Sigma}$ showing the difficulty in finding a general transformation that maps ${\alpha}$ to ${\omega}$. In some particular cases, the mapping can be uniquely determined by geometrical conditions. Moreover, we are led in this way to a negative answer to our conjecture in [12].

  • We have two concepts of Douglas spaces and Lands-berg spaces as generalizations of Berwald spaces. S. Bacso gave the definition of a weakly-Berwald space [2] as another generalization of Berwald spaces. In the present paper, we find the conditions that the Finsler space with an (${\alpha},{\beta}$)-metric be a weakly-Berwald space and the Finsler spaces with some special (${\alpha},{\beta}$)-metrics be weakly-Berwald spaces, respectively.

  • A theorem of Robert Blumenthal is used here in order to obtain a sufficient condition for a function between two Finsler manifolds to be a fibre bundle map. Our study is connected with two possible constructions: 1) a Finslerian generalization of usually Kaluza-Klein theories which use Riemannian metrics, the well-known particular case of Finsler metrics, 2) a Finslerian version of reduction process from geometric mechanics. Due to a condition in the Blumenthal's result the completeness of Euler-Lagrange vector fields of Finslerian type is discussed in detail and two situations yielding completeness are given: one concerning the energy and a second related to Finslerian fundamental function. The connection of our last framework, namely a regular Lagrangian having the energy as a proper (in topological sense) function, with the celebrated $Poincar{\acute{e}}$ Recurrence Theorem is pointed out.

  • In this paper, we study a class of Finsler metric. First, we find some rigidity results of the dually flat (${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$)-metric where the underline Riemannian metric ${\alpha}$ satisfies nonnegative curvature properties. We give a new geometric approach of the Monge-$Amp{\acute{e}}re$ type equation on $R^n$ by using those results. We also get the non-existence of the compact globally dually flat Riemannian manifold.

  • As a generalization of Berwald spaces, we have the ideas of Douglas spaces and Landsberg spaces. S. Bacso defined a weakly-Berwald space as another generalization of Berwald spaces. In 1972, Matsumoto proposed the (α, β) metric, which is a Finsler metric derived from a Riemannian metric α and a differential 1-form β. In this paper, we investigated an important class of (α, β)-metrics of the form $F={\mu}_1\alpha+{\mu}_2\beta+{\mu}_3\frac{\beta^2}{\alpha}$, which is recognized as a special form of the first approximate Matsumoto metric on an n-dimensional manifold, and we obtain the criteria for such metrics to be weakly-Berwald metrics. A Finsler space with a special (α, β)-metric is a weakly Berwald space if and only if Bmm is a 1-form. We have shown that under certain geometric and algebraic circumstances, it transforms into a weakly Berwald space.

  • The present paper is devoted to studying the condition that a two-dimensional Finsler space with a special (${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$)-metric be a Landsberg space. It is proved that if a Finsler space with a special (${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$)-metric is a Landsberg space, then it is a Berwald space.

  • General (${\alpha},\;{\beta}$)-metrics form a rich and important class of Finsler metrics. In this paper, we obtain a differential equation which characterizes a general (${\alpha},\;{\beta}$)-metric with isotropic E-curvature, under a certain condition. We also solve the equation in a particular case.

  • We consider the connections $\nabla$ on the Rizza manifold (M, J, L) satisfying ${\nabla}G=0\;and\;{\nabla}J=0$. Among them, we derive a Lichnerowicz connection from the Cart an connection and characterize it in terms of torsion. Generalizing Kahler condition in Hermitian geometry, we define a Kahler condition for Rizza manifolds. For such manifolds, we show that the Cartan connection and the Lichnerowicz connection coincide and that the almost complex structure J is integrable.

  • In this paper, we apply Zermelo's problem of navigation on Riemannian manifolds to Hermitian manifolds. Using a similar technique with which we define a Randers metric in a Finsler manifold by perturbing Riemannian metric with a vector field, we construct an $(a,b,f)$-metric in a Rizza manifold from a Hermitian metric and a given vector field.

  • If any geodesic on $F^n$ is also a geodesic on $\={F}^n$ and the inverse is true, the change $\sigma:L{\rightarrow}\={L}$ of the metric is called projective. In this paper, we will find the condition that a recurrent Finsler space remains to be a recurrent one under the projective change.
