Travel voucher for low-income or social disadvantaged groups forms a part of social policies in Korea. The policy can not only provide an opportunity of travel experiences for the socially weak, but also enhance their family capital and social capital. Thus, the travel voucher policy can be beneficial for the participants and their society. However, little research evidence of its evaluation and challenges/benefits exists. In practice, one of the biggest problems is an attrition of travel voucher winners which is to decrease a cost-effect of the travel voucher policy and to increase unnecessary waste of both the federal and human resources. Thus more research is needed to answer the questions why some of winners abandon to go to travel by the voucher, and who is the seceder? In this context, the study empirically examines the attrition propensity for the winners of 2011 Seoul travel voucher from 1,632 respondents and second data from Korea Tourism Organization. This research found that total education years of travel voucher winners have a significant effect on using their voucher. Implications and alternative policies for government policy makers and administrators are discussed by the analyzed results.
In this study, the housing-related characteristics of the youth are reviewed using data from the 4th - 14th Youth Panel Survey(YP2007) of the Korea Employment Information Service in the period 2010 - 2020. The factors that affect the characteristics of their dwelling are analysed. As a result, males, highly educated, and employed people are more likely to live in their own homes and apartments, but many of them seem to be living with their parents. On the contrary, economically independent young people tend to occupy their dwellings in the form of jeonsei/monthly rent and live in multi-family units, villas, and officetel. To support the youth in overcoming their key issues such as housing affordability, jobs, and marriage, so that they can play their roles, the cost of homeownership and rent should be tailored to their economic situations.

This study classified the predictors affecting the life satisfaction level of married immigrant women into socio-demographic factors (age, education, personal system factors (Korean proficiency, self-rated health, depressed mood, multicultural attitude), family system factors (spouse relationship satisfaction, child relationship satisfaction, couple conversation time, decision-making status), and social factors (social support, social capital, experience of social discrimination, multicultural family support center use) based on ecosystem perspectives and comprehensively examined their effects. The data for 14,464 married immigrant women from the National Survey on Multicultural Families 2015 were analyzed through hierarchical multiple regression. The findings of this study are as follow. First, the results indicated that all ecosystem factors- that is personal, family, and social system factors-significantly affected life satisfaction level of married immigrant women and especially personal and family system factors increased the predictability on their satisfaction. Second, among all predictors, spouse relationship satisfaction was the factor most strongly associated with life satisfaction. Finally, the income variable among socio-demographic factors, depression among personal system factors, spouse relationship satisfaction among family system factors, and experience of social discrimination among social system factors all showed the strongest significant effects on the life satisfaction level of married immigrant women. These results suggest that comprehensive factors based on the ecosystem perspectives to intervene and promote the life satisfaction of married immigrant women should be considered.

This study seeks to explore high school students' changing attitudes toward science-related career choices with focus on the scientific career cultural capital perspective. We developed a questionnaire and surveyed female high school students. We used the survey results to explore the scientific career cultural capital factors and characteristics of the students who have chosen a science-related career. We selected twelve participants through science-related career choice type and then conducted in-depth interviews with them. Through the in-depth interviews, we explored how the factors of scientific career cultural capital affect the students' career choices. The result shows that the students developed internal resources through norms of obligation and reciprocity within the structure (family, school, community) based on external resources. The internal resources affected their science-related career choice. In elementary school, the students' interests in science and science-related occupations are the most influential in their choice of career directions. In high school, however, the students also considered career cognition, aptitude cognition, and career-value factors in their career choices. The interests in science were formed mainly due to education activity and daily-life activity. Over time, education activity's effect increased. The interests in science-related occupations were formed mainly due to daily-life activity during elementary school. In high school, the interests in science-related occupations formed due to diverse internal and external resources. Students who maintained a science-related career attracted external resources. Furthermore, they reinforced internal resources through interacting with various external resources. This study has implications for science education concerning students' science-related career choices.

This study closely analyzed poems and paintings related to Beijing-Palgyeong, as well as ancient maps and ancient writings. Through the study, people who read this study can consider, Beijing-Palgyeong's the process of changing times, changing landscape perception, physical and symbolic landscape elements, structural analysis, national management relationships, and finally how it was localized as symbolic place. The view point of the Beijing-Palgyeong is distributed in four places, one outside and one inside the city. Outside of the capital city of Beijing-Palgyeong were concentrated in Seosan(西山) where the resting place of the emperor and the center of the landscape view of Beijing. The view point of Beijing-Palgyeong inside the capital city is located in two places in the royal palace's Imperial Garden and in two villages around the fortress. In other words, Beijing-Palgyeong was selected as a place closely related to the imperial family, emperor, and royal palace from the time of its initial creation. Since then, many scholars, including the emperor, have used it for national management through Won(元), Ming and Qing Dynasty, and it have become more and more characteristic of 'The capital city of eight scenic views'. The two places inside the capital city praised the Gods and Emperors in the same way. Outside the capital city, the two sites depict the comfortable lives of the people who are governed by the emperor and depicting the village landscape around the city. In the end, it can be seen that most of the Beijing-Palgyeong are related to imperial palaces and emperors. If you look at the physical landscape of Beijing-Palgyeong by element, it mainly contains the contents of national management and the emperor's eulogy. Qianlong Emperor established the Beijing-Palgyeong in 1751 through the construction of a monument. A four-character on the front of the monument, and inscribed with a seven-word written by the person on the back. It can be said that Qianlong Emperor's Beijing-Palgyeong were intended to show off the results of Manchurian rule through the material symbol of the monument. Beijing-Palgyeong have been transformed into a landmark, and modern people use it as an indicator of the Beijing-Palgyeong.

The most important change of the "Geum-gun" is the practice of five military units system, three military units of them, "Hunryeon-dogam", "Eoyeong-cheong" and "Geumwi-yeong", take charge of the guard of kings and the capital defense, and "Chongyung-cheong" and "Sueo-cheong" take charge of the defense of the outer areas of the capital region with key positions located at "Namhan-sanseong" and "Bukhan-sanseong"(mountain fortress Walls). The function of the "Geum-gun" is extended through the aggressions, therefore the number of soldiers is increased greatly. The guarding system for the country and its royal family is frequently changed according to the improvement of the people's position with themselves-awakening and their understanding of realities. The reorganization of the "Geum-gun" including "Howi-cheong", "Geumgun-cheong", "Sukwi-so" and "Jangyong-yeong" is unavoidable to strengthen the royal rights that are weaken by deposing the king "Injo". The standing of the existing organizations is changed many times with financial problems. The enthronement of the king "Jeongjo" is a great epoch in the change of the guarding system.
This study analyzes the effects of life course events and labor market conditions on the duration of career interruption among Korean women. The data were drawn from 'A Survey on the Women's Employment Interruption in Korea' conducted by the Korean Ministry of Gender Equality in 2009(currently the Korean Ministry of Gender Equality and Family). This study categorizes the duration of career interruption into three categories: (1) short term interruption(less than 12months), (2) short-medium term interruptio(12-35 months), (3) intermediate term interruption(36-59 months), (4) long term interruption(longer than 36 months), and then analyzes how demographic factors, labor market condition, and life events shape the timing of re-entry into the labor market among women. According to the findings, the jobs that are conducive to combining market work and mother's role expedite women's return to the labor market. Further, the younger, higher the level of human capital, and higher monthly wages that women earned before leaving the labor market, women are likely to experience short-term interruption(less than 12 months) rather than long-term interruption(longer than 60 months). Women who left from the labor market to care for kids are also likely to return to the labor market. However, women who have preschoolers are likely to experience long-term career interruption. These findings highlight the role of family supportive culture at the workplace in order for women to continue their employment while intensive family formation period. Furthermore, the finding that the discriminatory practices against women, in particular mother workers at the workplace lead women to exit from the market work calls for attention to establish family friendly workplace.

A major challenge in the transition from conventional to organic production in a grain intensive region such as the Com Belt legion of the U.S.A. is how to profitably select and manage a crop relation. The opportunity cast of forgoing grain production for forage and green manure crops is significant. Many organic researchers and writers emphasize the need to bring an animal enterprise into the farming system for diversification and enhanced labor utilization. Livestock also add value to grain and forage crops to offset decreased grain production and can recapture nutrients used in crop production that can be recycled through manure. In grain intensive regions, organic farmers should consider swine production as a natural fit for the farming system. Swine are very efficient and adaptable animals that can add value to both grain and forage crops. While somewhat lacking, there is a reasonable body of literature on organic and sustainable swine production. However, there is relatively little specific information available to organic farmers to assist in the initial decision to enter organic swine production and to evaluate marketing alternatives. The primary focus of this paper is to give some background on organic animal production(emphasis on swine) in the Central United States and outline production and marketing decisions and considerations, relative to market trends, demographics and standards(U.S.). At the farm level, decisions must be made regarding resources, such as land, labor, financial and social capital, all relative to opportunities, all in the context of the standards and market forces beyond the farm. At the personal level the farmer must also make decisions about convictions regarding organic or environmentally friendly agriculture, willingness to change, impacts on lifestyle and family, and the transition to organic methods within the planning horizon of the farmer and the family business.
This study was examined the level of satisfaction in rural settlement and analyzed its differences according to various demographic variables and characteristics of urban-rural migration. The analysis was conducted by considering returning farmers residing in rural areas. A statistical analysis was conducted using t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Duncan's multiple-range test with a total of 210 responses. First, satisfaction with the convenience of living facilities varied significantly according to the occupation before urban-rural migration, responses of family members and friends to urban-rural migration, and the initial capital for urban-rural migration. Second, satisfaction with the natural environment varied significantly according to age and reasons for urban-rural migration. Third, satisfaction with the transportation environment varied significantly according to gender, the period of residence after urban-rural migration, and the employment type of the returning farmer. Fourth, satisfaction with neighborliness varied significantly according to parents' occupation, agricultural experience before urban-rural migration, experience in agriculture-related social life before urban-rural migration, reasons for urban-rural migration, the type of urban-rural migration, and the employment type of the returning farmer. Fifth, satisfaction with the agricultural environment varied significantly according to responses of family members and friends to urban-rural migration, the period of residence after urban-rural migration, and reasons for urban-rural migration. Sixth, satisfaction with the housing environment varied significantly according to the residential area, the agricultural experience before urban-rural migration, and the period of residence after urban-rural migration.
The purpose of this study was to provide basic materials needed to enhance quality of organizational life by identifying the improvements of labor union management in the perspective of general hospital organization management. The subjects of this study were 428 employees in 8 Hospitals in Metro Capital including Seoul. Materials were collected from administrators, nurses and medical technicians in target hospitals from November 10 to November 30, 2006 through survey questionnaires. The main results of this study were as follows: 1. The commitment level of the subjects according to their characteristics was higher in older employees than the younger ones, large family to support than small family to support and those who had higher positions in labor union. 2. The commitment level of the subjects according to the Job and role related variables were higher those who had higher satisfaction level to their job, role conflict in all hospitals. 3. The commitment level of the subjects according to union related variables, variables jointly controlled by union and employer was statistically significant positive correlation. 4. The results of multiple regression analysis shows that formal and informal socialization, satisfaction with the labor union's were all found as important antecedents of labor union commitment. 5. The results of AMOS shows that structure characteristics of hospital, Job and manager satisfaction, socialization were statistically significant labor union satisfaction. The satisfaction level of labor union was statistically significant labor union commitment To summarize study results, the level of commitment in labor union depends on job satisfaction, managers' attitudes, union satisfaction factors, their colleagues attitudes toward union. Therefore hospital managers should have democratic and flexible attitudes toward labor union. Additionally, as formal and informal socialization is important determinant in union commitment, hospital managers should have countermeasures to enhance the colleague attitude and job satisfaction level of hospital employees. Moreover, as managerial factors of the principal of hospital influence union commitment directly, the attitudes of hospital managers toward union and transparency of hospital management should be improved.
