생체인식기술의 지속사용의도에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 : 다크 시나리오와 브라이트 시나리오의 비교 (Factors affecting the Continuance Usage Intention of Biometric Technology : Comparing Dark Scenario with Bright Scenario)

  • 개인화된 맞춤형 서비스와 네트워크화 된 시스템의 확산에 따라서 사용자 인증방법도 발전하고 있다. 그러나, ID와 비밀법호 등을 이용한 기존의 사용자 인증방법은 태생적인 보안의 취약성으로 인하여 개인정보 침해에 대한 문제를 야기하고 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해 보안성이 뛰어난 사용자의 고유한 생체정보를 이용한 생체인식기술이 발전하였다. 본 연구에서는 사용자의 생체인식기술의 지속사용의도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 Oliver(l980)의 기대 일치이론 및 Bhattacherjee(2001)의 지속사용모형의 기반위에 인지된 보안성, 인지된 프라이버시, 그리고 신뢰를 확장하여 고찰하였다. 특히, 지속사용의도에 대해서 긍정적 관점과 부정적 관점을 반영하는 브라이트 시나리오와 다크 시나리오를 각각 별개의 설문응답자에게 제시함으로써, 시나리오에 의해서 영향을 받는 요인에 대하여 비교분석하였다. 연구결과 브라이트 시나리오에서 인지된 유용성과 만족이 지속사용의도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나나났다. 인지된 프라이버시는 인지된 보안성에 영향을 미치고, 인지된 보안성은 다시 신뢰에 영향을 미쳤으며, 신뢰는 인지된 유용성과 인지된 사용용이성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 생체인식기술의 지속사용의도를 높이기 위해서는 만족을 높여야 하며, 만족은 기대일치와 인지된 유용성의 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 반하여, 다크 시나리오에 노출된 설문응답자들은 생체인식기술에 대한 부정식인 인식이 심어지게 됨으로써, 인지된 프라이버시와 인지된 보안성이 낮아졌으며, 이는 신뢰에 영향을 미치게 된다. 다크 시나리오에 노출된 용자의 신뢰는 인지된 유용성에 영향을 미치지 않게 되었으나, 인지된 사용용이성에는 여전히 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

Exploring Barriers Affecting e-Health Service Continuance Intention in India: From the Innovation Resistance Theory Stance

  • Although existing studies on e-health have usually focused on e-health services adoption intention, there is a dearth of studies on the barriers that affect e-health services retention intention especially in India. Additionally, although studies have mostly focused on utilizing expectation-confirmation model to understand innovation related barriers, innovation resistance theory (IRT) has been overlooked. As Indian e-health service providers face stiff challenges due to customer's unwillingness to continue using the service, there is a need to bridge the research gap that exists in this context. This mixed-method study, based on responses received from 289 participants and 1154 online negative reviews from e-Health providers in India, examines the barriers from the IRT stance. Results of this study reveal a notable negative association between tradition, value and financial barrier and intention to continue using e-health services. Additionally, continuance intention affects recommendation. The study concludes with various implications and scope for future research.

  • Mobile instant messaging (MIM) has been widely used in modern society due to its portability, speed and ease of use. In addition to simple text-based messaging, mobile instant message has now expanded to include graphics, images, and video. Many instant message service providers attempt to differentiate their service by providing an unique emoticon. Therefore, understanding the factors that affecting the continuous usage of emoticon is essential to capture users' interest. There is relatively little study on emoticon in information systems field. Hence, this study attempts to explore the continuous usage of emoticon through exploring the property of emoticon and usage motivation of emoticon. Based on the results, this study attempts to demonstrate practical implication of marketing on understanding user interest to mobile instant messenger service provider.

  • This study explores the factors influencing user satisfaction of mobile IPTV and their relationship. We formulate the research model based on characteristics of mobile device and IPTV. Responsiveness, contents satisfaction, price satisfaction, aesthetic simplicity, network quality are proposed as essential antecedents of mobile IPTV satisfaction. We also suggest network quality and gender as moderators. Our data analysis with 297 mobile IPTV users shows contents and price have significant positive effect on mobile IPTV satisfaction. Network quality shows positive moderation effect on the relationship between responsiveness and satisfaction.

Impact of Topic Distribution on Review Sentiment: A Comparative Study between South Korea and the U.S.

  • Online reviews offer valuable information to businesses by reflecting consumer experiences about their products and services. Two crucial aspects of online reviews are the topics consumers choose to address, and the sentiments expressed in their reviews. Building upon previous literature that shows online reviews are context-dependent, we employ the Expectation-Confirmation Theory (ECT) to examine the impact of topic distribution on review sentiment in South Korea and the U.S. during pre- and post-pandemic periods. After applying a topic modeling to Airbnb app review data, we measure the contribution of each topic on review sentiment using SHAP values. Our results indicate variations in topic distribution trends between 2018 and 2021. In addition, the order and magnitude of topics' impact on review sentiment change between pre- and post-pandemic periods for both countries. This study can help businesses understand how topics and sentiments associated with their products and services changed after the pandemic and thus identify areas of improvement.

유비쿼터스 서비스의 지속적 이용의도에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구: 유비쿼터스 시스템적 특성과 서비스 품질 요인을 중심으로 (A Study on Factors Affecting the Continued Usage Intention of Ubiquitous Services)

  • Ubiquitous computing is enhancing computer use by making many computers available throughout the physical environment without being noticed to the users. To facilitate successful adoption and diffusion of ubiquitous systems, it is important to find out the factors affecting their uses. Although researches related to ubiquitous computing have been vigorously conducted from the aspect of system and service provider, there have been very few studies that focus on the user's perspective. This study attempts to find out major factors which are dedicated to the development of ubiquitous systems and services and the relationships between these factors and user satisfaction factors. This study derived the specific factors that characterize ubiquitous services, such as ubiquity, contextual offer, user affinity, privacy, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. We also considered service quality factors of ubiquitous services. Then these factors were combined with the Expectation Confirmation Theory (ECT) model and the path analysis was applied to find out the factors affecting user satisfaction and the intention to use the systems. The research findings indicate that ubiquity, contextual offer, privacy, reliability, and responsiveness affect the perceived usefulness. The perceived ease of use and confirmation were found to affect the perceived usefulness. The perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and confirmation fumed out to influence the satisfaction. It turned out that the result of this study on the relationship between the perceived usefulness and user satisfaction was identical with the findings in previous related ECT researches. We think this study makes two significant contributions to the development of ubiquitous services. First, this study provides basic implications for better ubiquitous services by considering important characteristics of ubiquitous systems as services. Second, this study also suggests important factors that need to be considered when ubiquitous service providers develop new ubiquitous services to improve user satisfaction and the intention to use the services.

마이크로블로그 서비스의 지속사용의도에 관한 연구 (A Study on Microblog Service Continuous Use Intention: Focusing on Influence)

  • Microblog is emerging as a new communication service because of its usefulness and real-time accessability. Recently, microblog services, such as twitter and me2day in Korea, are getting a great attention. Continuous use intention is critical to sustain the service. However, most recent studies are based on Technology Acceptance Model(TAM) and Expectation Confirmation Model(ECM). These models are only focused on individual factors and overlook social influence factors. Social influence has been indicated as a critical factor of technology adoption and diffusion in social context(Davis, 1989; Fulk et al., 1987). In this study, we explore factors related to social influence which effect on continuous use intention for 'me2day' that is one of the most famous microblog in Korea. The purpose of this study is to understand continuous use intention and examine the relationship among social influence factors, social presence, and continuous use intention. To understand the phenomenon of continuous use intention in microblog service, this study employed social influence theory and expanded it by adding personal network exposure and group norm as additional social influence factors. The results show that social identity, group norms, and social presence positively influences continuous use intention. Contrary to our expectation, personal network exposure does not influence on continuous use intention. Academically, this research can contribute to microblog research field through elucidating the relationship among social influence factors, social presence, and continuous use intention. Although there is not enough research which is considered social influence factors as major explanation for continuous use intention, this study can give novel point of view to understand continuous use intention of microblog. Practically, service providers could consider ways to encourage users to continually use microblog service by reinforcing social influence factors and social presence.

소셜커머스의 경제적 가치와 정보품질이 재구매의도에 미치는 영향 : 동기이론을 기반으로 (Influence of Economic Value and Information Quality on Repurchase Intention in Social Commerce based on Motivation Theory)

  • Purpose: In Korea, market size of social commerce has been increased steadily and highly, but profits of social commerce companies have been decreased because of excessive marketing cost. To overcome this stagnant market environment, new marketing strategy that could attract customers and make customers continue to use social commerce is required instead of cost consuming marketing strategy. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship among characteristics of social commerce - that is, economic value and information quality - usefulness, enjoyment, satisfaction and repurchase intention by applying motivation theory to the area of social commerce. Design/Methodology/Approach: Previous researches have been studied by applying Expectation-Confirmation Model (ECM), Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) Model, although there are many studies related with customer acceptance model in the field of e-commerce. However, there is not so many studies in applying motivation theory. So this study adopts new approach to examine why customers use social commerce based on motivation theory. Thus, this study adopts economic value and information quality as antecedents, and then customers will perceive extrinsic and intrinsic motivation; usefulness is extrinsic and enjoyment is intrinsic, and adopts satisfaction and repurchase intention as a dependent variable. The data of questionnaire were collected from customers who have experience to buy something in social commerce. 228 questionnaires as data unit of individual level were collected using random sampling. Findings: This study proved empirically that the relationship between antecedents and motivation factors has a positive influence, and motivation factors also have a positive influence on repurchase intention through satisfaction. This study provides the managers an insight that social commerce companies should pay more attention to improve customer satisfaction in order to increase higher performance in repurchase intention of social commerce.

  • Purpose As the smartphone market arrived at its saturation, from world leading information and communications technologies (ICT) businesses to startups, companies are competing to develop innovative wearable device products and suitable contents. Utility, technology, design, price, and various killer contents development targeting every customer's need should be considered for a success in the wearable device market. Design/methodology/approach Prior studies on innovation technology of ICT field have mainly focused on the innovation diffusion theory, expectation confirmation theory, and technology acceptance model, this study suggested the innovation resistance factors of adopting the smart wearable devices based on the innovation resistance model and theory of perceived risk. The model comprises the following two characteristics factors: 1) innovation characteristics which include perceived relative advantages, perceived compatability, perceived complexity, and perceived risk, 2) consumer characteristics which include attitudes towards innovation and existing products (i.e., mobile devices and analog watches). This study developed an extended innovation resistance model to explain the intention to acceptance of wearable devices consumers and collected 284 online survey responses from the non-consumers of the wearable devices. Findings The findings of this study suggest that perceived relative advantage, perceived compatibility, perceived complexity, perceived risk, attitudes towards innovation and attitudes towards existing analog watches affected the innovation resistance which has negative influence on the intention to adoption of wearable devices.

핀테크 활성화를 위한 사용환경특성과 지속사용의도 (A Study on the Environment Characteristics and Continuous Usage Intention for Improvement of Fintech)

  • Purpose The development of the Fintech industry can be on the basis of the development in IT technologies such as Big data, IoT, cloud computing, it can be considered that the financial industry is repeating the evolution into Fintech. But the awareness of the consumers is still very low. Therefore the current dissertation, tries to deduce the suggestions for invigoration measures for Fintech by conducting an empirical study on the factors that influence the intention of reuse of Fintech on the consumer's point of view. Design/methodology/approach This study made a design of the research model by integrating the factors deducted from the Expectation Confirmation Theory. This paper empirically analyzes the impact of Continuous Usage Intention for Improvement of Fintech. The 302 survey responses were used to verify research hypotheses through covariate structural equation model. Findings According to the empirical analysis result, this study confirmed that the ultimate purpose of the Fintech service is to eliminate the social cost's waste element occurring from issue of money by not using or reducing the usage of cash. Since many Fintech users have pointed out security as the priority task, a direction for the related institutions has been proposed. Second, the content of the current dissertation will be the opportunity of broadening the perception of the current consumers that perceive Fintech as only a NFC simple payment service.
