  • Effective Training has been recognized as one of the most important success factors for enterprise resource planning (ERP) system operations. However, both ERP system vendors and user companies have failed to provide an effective training method for users because practical business process cases cannot be formalized. Also, incomplete testing by ERP system vendors results in insufficient and ineffective user training. This paper suggests a scenario framework for ERP testing and training (SF-ETT). SF-ETT is constructed by expanding the practice-based ERP testing scenario construction framework designed for unERPII. SF-ETT contains concrete business process entities that users understand actually and provides practice definition, notation, and architecture.

In Vietnam, many firms are afraid to install it and the number of firms adopting this software is limited mainly due to the insufficient scientific evidence of the successful implementation of ERP. This study aims to identify and measure the factors influencing the successful implementation of ERP of firms in Vietnam. Qualitative research methodology combined with quantitative research methodology is used. The data are surveyed with 343 administrators of 45 organizations that have successfully deployed ERP in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh cities. Of these 19 were excluded from analyses due to unsatisfactory responses, and only 324 were used for statistical processing. The collected data were processed by using the SPSS software. The result of the study shows that there are six factors affecting the successful implementation of ERP of firms in Vietnam, (ranked in descending order of importance), they are top management commitment and support, business process re-engineering, user involvement, project management board, vendor support, and suitability of software and hardware.

ERP systems can integrates many core activities of business, such as manufacturing management, human resource management, financial management, supply chain management by applying the best practices to facilitate a rapid decision-making, cost reductions, and organizational control. Unfortunately, however, many tentative risk factors are existed through each phase of the introduction of ERP systems. As a result, it can bring an enormous benefits to a company or it can be a disastrous for organization. Therefore, two critical questions regarding the introduction of ERP systems should be analyzed before actual introduction has happened. They are "how can ERP systems be introduced successfully\ulcorner" and "what are the critical success factors for each phase of introduction of ERP systems\ulcorner". Through this research, We studied and analyzed the characteristics of critical success factors requiring at each phase of the introduction of ERP systems by applying the questionnaire survey method. Finally, we suggest the list of barriers and critical success factors for each phase of introduction of ERP systems.tion of ERP systems.

  • According to the increase of organizational complexity and the change of rapid information technology environment, many firms have shifted their information technology(IT) strategy from developing information systems in-house to purchasing application software such as Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) Systems. Marketing and Sales functions within a Korean automotive part company include developing new assembly products, determining pricing, taking customer's orders, and shipping assembly products to customers. Marketing and Sales Information System(MSIS) in ERP system plays an important role in next Production Planning process. MSIS also makes management reporting and decision making faster and more uniform throughout an organization. MSIS promotes thinking about corporate goals, as opposed to thinking only about the goals of a single department or functional area. This paper intends to design and implement a MSIS in ERP systems for Korean automotive part company using object-oriented methodology In order to accomplish the implementation of MSIS in ERP system, we employed UML as its standard modeling language. In this study, four diagramming techniques such as use case diagram, sequence diagram, class diagram, component diagram among eight modeling techniques are used for analyzing hierarchical business process. In traditional marketing and sales function, a company with an unintegrated information system can have marketing and sales data that is data redundant or inaccurate. MSIS integrated in ERP system can solve the sales forecast problem, which minimizes the total costs of production, inventory, and transportation under constraints of production capacity. Also, the use of UML methodology makes S/W programmers shorten the phase of analysis and design in the implementation of MSIS system, and increase the reuse of software and the interoperability with corporate internal Information system.

This study intended to empirically examine how the role of EA operating unit and utilization capability of organizational members impact on system performance at the post-adoption stage. A balanced score card (BSC) is being used as a framework for a company's key performance indicator (KPI). Design/methodology/approach This study tried to investigate the causal relationship between the four perspectives of the balanced scorecard as an influencing factor of the introduction of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) on the financial value. In particular, the mediating effect between the customer's point of view and the business process point of view was investigated between the learning growth point of view and the financial point of view, and the interaction effect (regulating effect) of strategic linkage in the system introduction process was investigated. Findings The results of the study were first, that the organizational learning and growth perspective had a positive effect on the customer perspective, business process, and financial perspective. In addition, the customer perspective and the process perspective also had a positive influence on the financial perspective. Second, between the learning growth and financial perspectives, the customer perspective and the process perspective showed a partial mediating effect. Third, as for strategic linkage, the interaction effect between the customer perspective, the learning growth perspective, and the process perspective and the financial perspective was not significant. The results of this study are expected to provide a framework for performance evaluation to organizations that have introduced ERP systems.

  • To rapidly respond to uncertainties in the business environment whilst remaining competitive, every organization needs to be able to successfully introduce and manage organizational change. Cognizant of the role of information systems (IS) as an enabler of organizational change, many organizations have paid attention to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for successful organizational change primarily because of their change-driving forces across organizations. This study focuses attention on the role of readiness for change in the ERP systems adoption. Readiness for change described as views about the need for organizational change is posited to be an antecedent of two expectancies about the system, performance expectancy and effort expectancy, which lead to actual system use. Based on data gathered from the users of the ERP systems, structural equation analysis using LISREL provides significant support for the proposed relationships.
